The parking is easy. The landscaping and overall lawn maintenance is beautiful. It's a dog-friendly park. I haven't had to worry about stepping on any doggie-doo land mines, so that's a total plus. My favorite area is at the top of the hill with the ocean views. I like to sit on the bench or spread a blanket under the tree and look out at the sea. There's always a nice breeze. It's also a romantic spot to view a sunset.

Swings for both big kids or babies or perhaps both at the same time?!

This park is really quite beautiful! It has an amazing view of the ocean and it's well maintained. I like a park thag has swings since my son loves swings and this place fit the bill. It has a little tot playground and a playground for bigger kids. Also seems like a descent path to stroll around as well. I really didn't like the wood chips they use because my son immediately tried to eat them. He'd probably eat sand too so really it's a lose lose for me regardless. Ha. Great park, I'll be back to check it out again!

I spend a lot of time here shooting hoops or walking my dog, and it really is a beautiful park. However, there are definitely a few things that could be improved. With all the parties that happen at this park, there is trash left on the ground, overflowing trash cans, dog poo, and the occasional drug related item on the ground. It would be really nice if people took better care of our community park where families spend a lot of quality time together.

I like this park on weekdays- it's nice, quiet, green and relaxing. The grass is green and clean to play with your dogs. Many dog owners have their dogs off leash... which depending on the dog could be a safety issue for other dogs. On the weekdays there are no big issues. On the east end there are parking lots, playground, bathrooms, vending machine, volleyball net, horseshoe area, and many picnic tables. If you walk around the loop- it's a good 1/2 mile~ with concrete walking trails. Lots of trees and a nice view on the north end of Oside. On the weekends- it's a big different story. There are many many parties hosted here. When that is done, trash is everywhere. People simple don't clean up after themselves. Also, there are some weirdos hanging around... look like drug addicts or shady people (just like any park though). I must say though, this is where you want to host a park party since there are ample picnic tables and space!

Thorns that were embedded in my grandson's flip flops.

Our grandkids were wearing flip-flops & picked up dozens of thorns which actually stabbed through. Be really cautious around the left side of the train play structure. They are mixed in with the wood chips & are not distinguishable. No problem with regular shoes but don't let them fall or sit. I did not see the source bush or tree.

This park is a breath of fresh air. So many parks absolutely suck. No parking, only grass. You can walk around the park in 5 mins. Not This Park. This park has plenty of walking space and plenty of parking. The park has beautiful trees and flowers with benches and trash cans throughout.

Nice spacious park with views of Oceanside. I can clearly see the San Luis Rey River trail from here as well as the white Temple off Mission Ave. There's a big bear (wooden) at the entrance so you can't miss it. Some parking but I bet it can get packed when there are Birthday parties. Bathrooms on site, lots of benches scattered throughout. Children's playground, volleyball court and basketball court. Plenty of room for the kids to kick balls against the grass or whatever else they do these days. There is a nice breeze with plenty of shaded trees which is perfect for a picnic. This place is popular for kids birthday parties as evidenced by the leftover trash from piñatas embedded in the grass and the rope still hanging off some of the trees. I wish people would pick up their trash. I came here once a long time ago for a kids birthday party. I can't remember much of it though. There's a walking/jogging trail too. There is an inner loop and an outer loop. The inner loop is .29 miles and the outer loop is .56 miles- both paved and SUPER EASY. Great park for dogs and families.

Playground was inviting! My dog loved walking and playing in the playground! ha ha

I absolutely love bringing my family to this park. It's clean, never overcrowded, and the people who frequent the park are usually very friendly and courteous of one another (last time we went, a group of complete strangers tried their hardest to help us fetch our frisbee out of the tree it got stuck in...we ended up not getting it out, but the fact that there are still people out there who care enough to help out someone they don't know is refreshing!). The grounds are well-kept, and it's a fantastic place to walk, throw around a frisbee or a football, or have a family picnic (we have picnics here and at several other local parks all the time). If you want to enhance the experience, check in on your phone, take a check in photo if you want to Yelp it, and then leave that phone in your car. This is definitely a place that promotes family togetherness and fosters an appreciation for the outdoors - something that appears to be fast disappearing among our younger generation. I'd like to see more public restrooms, perhaps a little closer together than they are right now, but it *is* a public park, so it's not like the amenities are going to be perfect. I personally don't trust public drinking fountains (they have some), so I make sure to bring plenty of my own bottled water to keep hydrated. I haven't seen it officially posted, but this appears to be a dog friendly park, and you often see people out and about with their fur babies...which I absolutely love. In this age of suburban living, it's nice to know that we can go enjoy a place where our neighbors can't hear every breathe we take when we are outside, haha! Love the open spaces, crisp and clean feeling to the park, and access to open play spaces where kids and adults alike can run around and get their energy out. Free family afternoon bonding and entertainment location win!

I love this park! It's beautiful... has great scenery... and it's always full of family celebrations on the weekends and holidays. Here's some of it's GREAT features: * playground - climbing gym, swings, train to play on/in & more * basketball court * horseshoe pits * volleyball net * hiking/biking path * trails * bathrooms * lots of shade * great place to walk dogs (poop bags, please clean up after pets) GREAT for PICNICs too! You have to check it out!

A great park for kiddos. On a clear day, it has an ocean view. Benches for eating are convenient and restrooms are available.

I could just see my kids getting bored...and then saying..."Are we going home? I'm bored!". Well, Rancho Del Oro solved that problem...how?! Let me tell you! They have a nice area cornered off for kids! No really, it's true! It's right by the tennis courts. So, parents, take note...get there early, and set up right before the ground slopes downward. Kids can play and be within sight at all times. A group of hula hoop dancers brought out tons of hula hoops after their performance for the kids to play with. There were gymnastic mats too. I really couldn't believe how content my kids were. Two opening acts, and the the main act came out. The Mar Dels were the big performers tonight. I've wanted to see them forever...and they didn't disappoint. Tons of cover songs from the 1950-1970's, and a nice sized danced floor right infront of the stage. People were thoroughly enjoying their Friday night....and was this girl! My kids played while my friend and I ate pizza, brownies, and drank beer. Family friendly, dog friendly, great venue...I'll be back!

The Hideaways - I appreciate the covered seating area for the parents. Just wish it faced the playground so you can monitor your kids

I will say, however, that this place is so big that you can very easily lose track of your kids. There were a few times on our last visit where I was scanning the playground for a minute or two trying to find one of my kids after looking after another one for a bit. But don't worry. There really is only one in and out so you don't have to worry about kids wandering off if you are around that bottleneck point. This is a great attraction that I hope the park never gets rid of. It offers kids a space to run around & just goof off and be kids while also blowing off steam. The only point of improvement I can think of if maybe offer some more (shaded) seating for parents. On hot days that would be greatly appreciated.

The kids have fun running place to place it makes me want to join them. If you haven't visit this playground it is a must. P.S.
