Stopped for some quick fish tacos right outside the Polynesian Cultural Center... they weren't too quick. Prices posted are not correct. They said they are in the process of getting a new sign. Really? After I ordered, I asked if they were on corn or flour and they said I could choose. But if I hadn't asked, no choice would have been offered. After 10 minutes I got some okay tacos. We were really excited to try this place. The pictures on the menu look amazing. We had the fish tacos, taco salad with beef, the hukilau burrito with shrimp and the chimichanga with chicken. The fish tacos were an utter disappointment! Small pieces of tasteless fish with mushy corn tortillas and a little lettuce, guacamole and pico. But there was so little flavor and substance! Probably the worst fish tacos I've ever had unfortunately. The taco salad wasn't much better. The beef was a dry pot roast that lacked flavor. And the shredded lettuce was so prominent that it lacked lots of flavor as well. It did have a little pico and guacamole as well as sour cream, but it was mostly lettuce and dry meat. It really needed a dressing of some kind. A cilantro lime dressing would have helped a ton. The shrimp burrito was really tasty and so was the chimichanga. It had a lot of chicken and good flavor. It could have been deep fried a little more. But overall we were mostly disappointed with the meal. I probably wouldn't ever come back based on half of our meals being super lackluster. read more

Had lunch here as a quick option before spending the day at the Polynesian Cultural Center. It's part of the market area before the entrance which has a few other options to check out. The menu was labeled with what was vegetarian and gluten free so if you have those diets (which we did in our party) you go in knowing they are conscious of these things and you will be able to eat something. I had the Veggie Burrito which was hearty and good...I generally prefer pinto or refried beans, but neither of those are vegetarian here so had it with black beans. I was quite filled when it was done done and thought this had a nice authentic flavor to it. The person who took our order seemed awfully unhappy to be there which is not typical of Hawaii and bummed us out a little. This is a good quick stop (well it was quick for us...a bit a line developed after we ordered) before heading into the center for the day. There's plenty of seating behind the truck too. read more

$15 for the chimichanga and $2 to substitute for the carnitas. Came with refried beans, guacamole, Spanish rice, sour cream, and a little salad topping. The chimichanga wasn't super heavily deep fried but enough to give a nice crisp to the tortilla. There was a generous portion of pork in it too. A little pricey but it is in a touristy area with a fun vibe so we'd prob return if in the area. read more

I try to be fair and honest when it comes to reviews. I rely on Yelp quite a bit when I'm traveling.... I thought was getting something local and unique. Unfortunately, this place was located in the the middle of the Polynesian Cultural Center. Should have recognized it wasn't really "local", but tried it anyway.. the line to order was long, the lady was very friendly and communicative. However, there was truly a disconnect between the ordering process and the delivery of the food. It took over 40 minutes from the time I got in line before I received my food. There was a gentlemen that had ordered 4 people in front of me that somehow they got his order "lost". Unfortunately, mine came out before his, however, there was a lot of confusion.... The food didn't have any flavor and seemed "thrown" together to meet the requirement. If you're at the PCC, this might be worth trying again, just keep in mind, it's not local and not unique. read more

After along day visit at the Polynesian Culture Center we decided to try this place out. Wife ordered fish tacos and I ordered the ceviche. Fish taco meat was good. Though it was not breaded or fried as fish tacos should be. The beans where simply black beans with a slap of cheese on them. I was never offered the choice of pinto nor smashed beans. Rice was okay but not great. The ceviche was horribly very salty. I tried to eat it but could not bare how salty it was. So I went back to the cashier not to complain but to ask for more limes in hopes of stabilizing the taste. When I asked for them the girl up front went inside to get some (or at least I thought) thats when she said her manager told her it would be 50 cents for a half and a dollar for a whole lime. Yes!! that's right, they charged me for some limes. I was truly caught off gaurd and thought for a second it was a joke but no they where dead serious. Well I paid for one lime, sadly it didn't help, the cevich was just way too salty the further I dug in. I decided to call it a day. I threw it in the trash and decided to move on. I wanted to let them know before if anyone else ordered cecivhe that it was way too salty. It was then when I realized perhaps, I peeked inside and the cooks/manager where 2 white surfer guys preparing everything. I really wish I could give them the benefit of the doubt but I simply could not. My advise if you are craving Mexican food is to stay the hell away from this place. Wait until you get away from there. Whenever Mexican food is served, limes are always a condiment to your dish not an extra add on charge. It is not an exaggeration to say that the fish tacos were the worst tacos I have ever eaten, from anyone, in any country. Fish was rather soggy, like frozen fish sticks that thawed. Grilling was almost an afterthought. I assume they tried to hide it with salt and added a mouth-numbing quantity of salt to the filet. And the pinnacle of this disappointing experience was the complete lack of spice of any type. No sauce, no salsa, not even some generic supermarket hot sauce on the side or some dull "mild" salsa to appease the tourists. I have no idea how you make so many errors and dispatch a dish this bad. The salsa is amazing and I love their chicken enchiladas. I just had their steak tacos today and while the meat and the tortilla was delicious, it was missing salsa and cojita or some kind of cheese. So it ended up tasting a bit dry. If you order tacos, ask for salsa as well. Also, their beans weren't awesome today like they usually are. I vacillate between four and five stars when I eat here. It's fine for Hawaii so manage expectations and enjoy that outdoor seating! read more

Guadalajara Grill was my favorite Mexican food when it was on the side of kam highway across from pounders beach. The chimichanga was unbeatable! When it moved to PCC marketplace the quality suffered with college students cooking instead. I got the burrito one time and it was literally the same burrito I make at home, with tortillaland Costco tortillas and ground beef and a little melted cheese inside. Nothing to write home about for sure. The chimichanga is the only thing worth ordering here, without it, this would be a 3 star rating for sure. read more

The best Mexican food on the North Shore. Located in the PCC Marketplace, the seating is outdoors & the food is served with Aloha. I love the fajitas & taquitos! The Guadalajara Grill is a little stand in the Hukilau Marketplace that you pass by right before you get to the Polynesian Cultural Center. You do not have to enter the PCC to eat here. Anyway, we were looking for something quick before entering the PCC and decided to eat here. It was great! I got the fish tacos. They were the best fish tacos I've ever had! The person I went with got shrimp tacos, which she also liked. Both came with a side of rice and black beans. She didnt want the beans so she said not to give them to her and without her saying anything else, they just doubled the amount of rice they gave her. The girl working the counter was very nice and friendly, so good customer service. Finally, here's a tip - if you check in there on Yelp, you can get a free thing of chips and salsa. I eat at this place a few times a month with my family. The food is generally solid... great nachos, good enchiladas and big burritos. They get extra points in my book for portion size which is similar to what you would find on the mainland. Nachos are easily shared with two people. My challenges with this place are time from order to food delivery is highly variable (at times it's 5 mins other times it's 30 mins and it doesn't seem to correlate to how busy they are). I also mark them down for drink selection... just bottles and mostly that sugar filled Jarritos stuff. I'd give them 3.5 stars if I could but I bump them up for portions and price (which is reasonable). It's a solid place. read more

I'm grateful we decided to stop by last minute before they closed. My wife and I showed up minutes before they closed and the lady (I assume one of the owners) was very helpful and willing to serve us even though they were closing. I ended up getting the shredded beef burrito and my wife got the shredded chicken quesadilla. We also shared a side of chips and salsa. The burrito was incredibly tasty. The juices were dripping out of it! I mixed each bite I took with pico, sour cream, beans, and Spanish rice. I'm sure we looked like pigs stuffing our faces as we devoured each savory bite. I looked over at my wife and she was almost in tears with each bite she was taking. She looked as if she was baptized in a field of Mexican spices and the best combination of flavors. Not gonna lie I was laughing while trying to make room for breathing because I was eating so fast. Once we were done we left nothing on our plates the poor wild dog and cat were upset we didn't even leave them crumbs. As dramatic as this review is you guys really need to stop by and try it out. As others have said, the service is very good here. I like how they bring the food to you after you have paid. We took advantage of the free chips and salsa check in offer. The chips are fresh made and the salsa was very good. Unfortunately the fish tacos and quesadilla with ground beef were good but lacked any real flavor. Same for the beans and rice. The dining area (picnic tables) is clean and fully covered which is nice if you need a break from the sun, or rain in our case. We had live entertainment the evening we were there which was a college student playing the guitar, singing solo and telling corny jokes while engaging the diners.
