    Sliders

Chill grill is located in the little food truck parking lot across McDonald's in Hale'iwa. I was interested in trying out their chicken nachos. It was okay. Nothing special to remember about it. It tasted plain tbh. I also ordered the chicken quesadilla and the sliders. My kids said it was Eh! Nothing special. For that price, and the waiting time, I wish it some type of specialness to their food. But nothing special came out of it. I couldn't even find the name of the food truck in front of the food truck to check them out before I thought of eating there. Please improve on taste rather than quantity. They gave a good amount for the price. I want more taste and not some store bought chicken shredded, more taste on home made hamburger, and quesadillas was mediocre. It needs something. Mood: full because I was just hungry Satisfaction: hmmmm ok Parking: go early to get some, locals are free Service: not too nice or enthusiastic but NOT not nice

    The Kahlúa pork sliders

The food here was absolutely DELICIOUS I got the Kahlúa pork slider, I added BBQ sauce as my topping... WOW, those are some of the best sliders I've ever had, the pork was delicious, the rolls they were on were soft and sweet and absorbed all the fat and juices of the pork and overall it was a stellar meal! We got there early and were first in line so there was plenty of seating and parking and with the lovely tree cover and hilarious chickens running around it was a lovely meal after visiting the temple. Everyone in the truck was nice and friendly and we'd 100% come again!

This food truck used to be Okina Cafe, but they are now revamping their entire menu. Since the boyfriend can't eat shrimp, he got a burger here while I had Giovanni's. The line here was even longer than Giovanni's, which says a lot too. He ordered the Bucket-A-Bacon Burger ($15), which was stuffed with bacon, cheese, and meat --no vegetable fillers just the way he likes it. I tried a bit and it was meaty and filling. For the meatlovers, this is a solid choice. It doesn't come with anything else though, but tasty.

This food truck is the best. It hit the spot and was exactly what I was looking for after the shark snorkel we did. I don't do shrimp and I think the shrimp trunk is overrated lol I joked with the guy here about it too! I really wanted a rice dish so I went with the Ono (one ? I like ono better) plate lunch and went with the recommendation of the garlic steak. I got the Thai tea, and 2 lemonades for my companions. In total with tip was 33$ - support local! The Thai tea was really good - I am a Thai food snob and this was top tier man! Let's get to the actual meal. The meal itself was much bigger than I was expecting and that's awesome. More bang for your buck. The salad was good and fresh and the vinaigrette was well balanced. The rice was a bit dry for me but ok, but the steak was perfect. It could have been a bit more medium but it was VERY tender and juicy and had the right amount of garlic. I don't always eat all of my meal but I finished ALL of the steak it was that good! Compliments to the chef lol Def show them some love and try their food - shrimp is so yesterday

    Garlic butter steak

Grew tired of garlic shrimp and wanted to try something new. Great service. Giant burgers! Tender tasty garlic butter steak. I had medium well and it was tender and juicy. Passion fruit lemonade was okay. I like it more tart. It was smooth and sweet.

    Chicken quesadilla, $12, nothing special

This place is in the turnaround where there is about 10 food trucks. The line was pretty long compared to others so we thought that they must be the best. The wait was around 45 minutes to get your food. We ordered a chicken quesadilla which was $12. To me it just tasted like rotisserie chicken and cheese. My daughter said Taco Bell was better. So I would skip this truck.

The line was not that long compared to Giovanni's but it definitely moved slower. Service was mediocre. The guy grilling was complaining about not having his music to listen to. While the cashier was friendly, the girl giving out the food at the pickup window was grumpy. Food Steak and rice - steak was grilled and seasoned well. Best dish there. Kahlua pork sliders - pork was on the sweet side. They used Hawaiian rolls for the buns Steak and pork tacos - not street tacos like I pictured. They used regular soft tortilla (like Mission tortillas). Steak was good, same steak in the steak and rice dish. And pork on the sweet side. I might give it a higher rating it had higher value for the price.

    Ahi Tuna Poke Plate Lunch

Spent a few hours in North Shore shark diving, and stopped at a food truck area to see what they had. The parking lot was full, so you know there must have been some good choices! I parked down the street a little at the visitor center for a $10 fee. You can come and go. My stop was at Chill Grill. There were a few options to choose from on the menu, and I landed on the Ahi Tuna Poke Plate Lunch. A generous portion of tuna bursting with flavor, two scoops of white rice, and a small garden salad with choice of three dressings. I actually did not get my dressing, although I was almost done before I realized it. For a drink I had the passion fruit lemonade. It was a great balance the two flavors. One of my group had the butter garlic steak plate lunch. I was able to try some. There was a lot of fat and gristle in the meat, but was otherwise tender. There also was not all that much flavor.

Stopped by this section of food trucks at the north shore and decided on the chill grill becthey had a vegetarian option. I had the plane Jane quesadilla with a side salad. It was okay. My friend had a cheeseburger and he is very picky, but said it was a good burger. My other friend had chicken street tacos, but being from the southwest, I have never seen such large street tacos....they use a medium size flour tortilla and add chunks of chicken, lettuce and tomato. Honestly there are lots of food options in this area, so not sure the food will call me back. I have to give kudos to Sky, she was super sweet and wanted to ensure we were all completely happy. She is definitely an asset to this business! If you decided to stop in, ask for Sky! You too will see how helpful she is :-)

Kalua Pork (Ono Plate Lunch) & Haleiwa Fruit Smoothie
    Thomas H.

I was a little disappointed ordering from this place because originally I wanted to get the Ahi Tuna Poke Plate but they ran out of fish. So the next thing I wanted was the Garlic Butter Steak Plate but they ran out of steak. My third option was the Kalua Pork Plate and it was flavorful considering Kalua Pork is oftentimes bland but nothing to really cry home about.

    Andrew F.

Their Kalua pork plate was really good! I'm a bit surprised at their average ratings since the pork was very flavorful. I suggest you give it a shot if you're not craving the other food trucks in that area, you won't be disappointed

    Fruity Lemonade

I tried the fruity lemonade and it was totally worth it!! It was the perfect about of sweet and refreshing. It's a pineapple and strawberry lemonade!

    Chelsy P.

It's good but not worth the price. Definitely a place for tourists cause, hey you're on vacation what a couple bucks more. Theyre fast which is good and have a variety of items on the menu. Good for before the beach so you don't get too full! There is a fee for parking $2.

Chicken sliders ? More like chopped chicken thrown under bread.

Wait for steak tacos was long. People behind me got their meals before me. Steak tacos were bland and underwhelming and rice was too dry.

Mexican sounded good to everyone so we picked this spot and we're all very happy we did. Our server was kind and attentive. The place was lovely and decorated with just the amount of fun you expect. Some great photo ops in there. He even told us they were having a mariachi band tomorrow and invited us to come back. The food from the start with nachos and salsa to the end with tres leches was all delicious. I ordered the chorizo queso and it was fantastic. My son ordered the guacamole and it was so fresh and limey. Also delicious. My grandkids shared a quesadilla which was definitely large enough to do so with. My oldest grandson ordered a torte and he loved it. Also a generous portion. My son and I both ordered the grande burrito. He got his wet and I didn't. His was served on a plate and mine came wrapped in foil in a basket. I wish it would have also come on a plate. I like to cut it up to eat and the foil made that difficult to do. We ordered the tres leches to go because we were all so full. Enjoyed it the next day. Three of us could share on piece. It's delicious but very rich.

The Margarita flights were small, mini tastings which left us wanting more (and yes, we did order more). Regarding the tres leches, it's not the greatest we've ever had but not the worst. Once spots started opening up, we paid the $2 parking fee and joined the lines. Heads up, the long line on the right is usually for pickup, while the shorter line on the left is for ordering. We went with the famous Shrimp Scampi along with a side of mac salad. Shrimp Scampi (4/5): Easily lived up to the hype. The shrimp were juicy and easy to peel, and each bite was loaded with buttery lemon flavor and tons of crispy garlic. The rice soaked up the sauce really well, though there was honestly so much butter and oil leftover afterward that it pooled at the bottom of the plate. Still incredibly flavorful overall. Mac Salad (4/5): Creamy without feeling too heavy and generously portioned. A solid side that balanced out the richness of the shrimp. Bathrooms are located upstairs near the gift shop, and there's also a washing sink near the exit, which definitely comes in handy after peeling shrimp. Overall, a fun and iconic North Shore stop that absolutely feels worth trying at least once. Glad we checked it out to see if it lived up to the hype.

Ordered the garlic butter shrimp (~$17). Super flavorful and buttery shrimp. It's slit at the vein, making it a little easier to peel and eat. Rice could be drier for me. It was a little too mushy, but it did a really good job soaking up the sauce. Fair warning- the Flys in the area make eating a slight challenge.
