Super chill atmosphere with a few tvs had sports channels on. Food is just so amazing!! Fish nuggets were fried to perfection. Zero pop of grease that other places at times have. I went there a couple months for my mom's birthday and it was horrible! I've never been here before and it was me and my family first time so obviously we were expecting good service right? Well the waiter told us there was a family of like 10 before us so there would be a 30-40 minute wait. We were willing to wait that long because you know we're hungry. I ordered the chicken and waffles and my family ordered something sea food related I can't remember. So we waited 30 minutes, it turned into a hour then an hour and 30 minutes. At this point no one had came to give us updates on our food. Even my waffles weren't ready which was weird. Our appetizers came a long time ago and just our drinks were there. All of the waitresses looked like they had no idea what they were doing. We decided to just go to hook and reel instead. We tried to pay but surprisingly NO one was there to give us the check so we just left. Only good thing was that there was misters outside for the hot weather. Between 2 clubs..... This place is not easy to find. When you pull up you'll think you're at the wrong place, or you'll ask yourself which place is the right one. There seems to be 2 night clubs here; one on each side of the restaurant. The front door to the restaurant is solid without windows and I don't think there's any windows on at all. That said, you can't see inside to know what you're walking into. The door looks like a private business and you might fear walking into the wrong place. The sign is outside and above the door. Trust me, it's worth it. Open that door! Very cute and nice inside. You have to order the food at the counter but they'll bring it out to you or take to go. Very good soul food. Walked into this cute little place excited for the food! Went there for dinner (6:00) the place was empty and almost turned around and left but my son wanted fried chicken so we stayed. Renee, who was very sweet, took our order at 6:15. My son ordered the fried chicken meal with mac n cheese and collard greens and I ordered the Po' boy. Let me remind you there was no one at all in the restaurant. The next patrons came in about a half hour of us being there and there were a few to go orders. Our food was not served to us until one hour after ordering it. We were so confused as to the long wait but didn't say anything because we assumed it would be coming at any moment. About 45 minutes after we ordered Renee brought complimentary cornbread muffins to our table and they were good. So finally our food comes. The mac n cheese was hot and delicious. The greens were ok. The chicken leg was good but the thigh was dried out. The shrimp on the Po' boy was very good, however; I am used to having it with shredded lettuce and without Kraft American cheese. Drove from Eastlake which is 17 miles away for lunch. Only one other couple in the restaurant. We asked to order jambalaya and gumbo but were told they did not have the ingredients for that. Several other things on the menu were not available. Seems all the had availability was fried foods! Me and my niece ordered appetizers only. After over one hour we still did not have our chicken wings and bang bang shrimp. Had unsweet tea which was watered down. Went to the restroom and there was minimal toilet paper in the ladies bathroom and NO hand soap at all. We have gone there three other times because we do want to patron a minority business. Last time my catfish nuggets were glassy and not cooked all the way through. Asked the waitress to please take it back and give me a cooked order. From what she told me that the cook put my fish from my plate back into the fryer and recooked it. I still couldn't eat it because it was still raw. The time before that I ordered chicken wings but they too were not cooked thoroughly. This was the last time for me going there. I cannot wait over an hour in a restaurant that has only two customers for an appetizer. Server is nice and staff is nice but the food has a lot to be talked about. The collard greens are old and seem to be leftover from days with a stinky smell to them as the same for the cabbage. Leftover collards and cabbage gives gas and thought I needed to go to the hospital after eating there. I did give it one more try but I can't ever go back there again. And one more thing. There are two front doors and they keep one of them locked which is scary if there was an emergency or fire. We are military and they don't even offer a military discount. Waiting over an hour for an appetizer is just ridiculous! The waitress kept telling us our food would be out in a minute but over an hour later still no food. We left $5 for the watered down tea which they do not have sugar substitute available for those of us who cannot eat sugar. We left without ever getting our meal!! read more

This place is run by the one chef and help from her mom. She's a really good person and I enjoyed the conversation with the owner/chef as much as I enjoyed the food. I ordered the wings, greens, dirty rice, macaroni and cheese, and the peach cobbler. Oh and she serves KOOL-Ade! I enjoyed everything except the dirty rice. The flavor was really good but I don't care for the type of rice so that was the reason. The peach cobbler was my favorite though. I would definitely go back and try something else. Felt like catfish on this Saturday afternoon so out we go to this spot on dyer. Walk in and place isn't quite finished so you know it's going to be good. Ordered catfish, collard greens, Mac and cheese and it came with some corn bread. It was not good it was amazingly good, catfish was fried to perfection and collard green had great flavor, Mac and cheese was ok compared to everything else. Initially I couldn't find the restaurant, but I eventually did! when I walked in, I was greeted and given a place to sit. Immediately I already knew the food was gonna be good because the aroma of the restaurant could be smelled as soon as I walked through the door!
