The cheaper one only had 1 piece of fish. The fish came grilled and it was good. The fries, I could have done without as they were bland and got cold right away. Corn is corn, you can't write much about that. The biscuits and corn muffins were also cold and my friend's mashed potatoes were lumpy and cold as well. I really like Cracker Barrel but I've noticed their not consistent with food availability and quality for quite sometime. They are not fully staffed so they tell you they don't have that item but I know it's because it is something that takes longer too cook. So I'm offered similar item and when I get it looks and tastes like it's been under a warmer. The sides that we received were flavorless and tastes like it was cooked in a hurry. Took the family to dinner at the Cracker Barrell off Remcon in El Paso yesterday evening. It wasn't very busy. We were seated then we were helped by an amazing server by the name of name Jesus. He was an excellent server. However the food is just so-so. The biscuits and corn bread rolls tasted like they sat under the warming light for a while. The edges were dried out. My hash brown casserole also tasted like it was under the warming lights for quite sometime. It was dry around the edges and lacking in appeal. This place was always our go-to spot. I really love coming here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it is always extremely busy...I recently had an experience that may require a change in the seating process. I understand I have to wait and I will be more than glad to add my name to a waiting list, however when being seated and the customer doesn't like the table assigned, having to wait until 8 other parties of 2 get seated before my party of 2 is re-seated is WRONG! Had to find the Manager to let him know of the situation and then we got seated because the hostess was completely clueless! We will continue coming here however improved processes and appropriate hostess training is definitely required geared toward an improved customer experience! In the other hand I think management should see about having all servers wear a hair net or something to prevent hair falling into people's food while in the process of serving. This Cracker Barrel has a lot of young wait staff. The typical country store is the entrance and you can get some nostalgic candies and even Christmas decorations here. The restaurant was busy but I got a table fairly quick. The meatloaf was tender and soft. I hard corn and collared greens and the dessert beignets and was able to box the meal and take the rest to go. Comfortable and homey, was the vibe. read more

The pecan pancakes for breakfast we're probably some of the best that I've ever had The ham however left a little to be desired because I remembered when it was as big as a plate and it cost $3.99 now it's more expensive obviously because of inflation and it's not even as big as a deck of cards but it was still tasty and very good... I've always been a huge Fan of the company. Most of my experiences have been pleasant, with a strong air of nostalgia walking through the front of the store. The food had always been good and the service was better than standard. With a heavy heart I need to say I will not be going back to this location here in El Paso. My spouse and I visited just over a week ago for a late lunch. I won't go much into detail here but even though the food was ok, what happened later wasn't ok. We both fell sick and then spent the rest of the day working our "late lunch" through our bodies as our negative experience continued well unto the next day. First of all they've never disappointed me. Today they were full, as people tried to beat the fathers day rush. We went for breakfast & got a table right away. Our waitress was so sweet. She was skinny and wore glasses. What a firecracker. What impressed me the most was the Mgr, Ray, coming out introducing himself and serving food too! He worked that dining room along with his employees. For me, that's always a triple plus, because it just shows teamwork & that he didn't forget where he came from. They greeted us at the door which is something new. Everyone did a phenomenal job. My hubby got the cracker barrel bkft ( grits &all) & loved it! Put him to sleep so you it was good. This review is specifically for the heat 'n serve take home Thanksgiving meal. Quite simply, it was fantastic. Since we are empty nesters, this year my wife and I decided to stay home and watch the Cowboys. The past few years, our eating out experiences have been disappointing, so when we came across this heat n serve option we jumped at it. It was a very complete Thanksgiving meal that included a (very large) roasted turkey breast, dressing and giblet gravy, sweet potato cassorole, hash brown cassorole, cranberry sauce, and dinner rolls. It was enough food for a belly busting meal and plenty of leftovers. We opted out of dessert, but it was available. The only thing missing was a selection of dark meat. To me, that's important, so we bought a couple of grocery store turkey legs, to roast along side of the breast. Every one of the food items was excellent. Preparation instructions are included so putting the meal together was a piece of cake. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite, and look forward to another complete meal in a couple of days, plus continued leftovers for soup or sandwiches. We have decided this will become our annual Thanksgiving tradition consedering the quality and convenience. read more
