An institution in our mountain town where the visit is not complete without coming here. It's where the locals hang out The walls tell the history of this town and along with that amazing food and great beer with a smile. Don't miss it.

Been serving beer here for a while

Everything one would expect from a local bar Great Burgers, great beer, a healthy poor, perfectly aged local atmosphere and a joyfully Grumpy bartender ! If you find yourself skiing in Sun Valley or fishing in Ketchum make sure to stop in for a bite and a cold one !!

Great local dive bar with a really good burger and tons of personality friendly staff and a large beer selection in schooners

So fun!! Everyone told us we had to come to Grumpy's while visiting sun valley. Delicious burgers and a very fun place to checkout. Came on a weekday afternoon so wasn't too crowded got a booth in the back right away. Loved looking at allllllll the decor around the walls haha chili fries were also delicious!

My burger craving was perfectly satisfied at Grumpy's, thanks to others' Yelp reviews. A tiny little place, the main room at Grumpy's has a bar and a few tables. There are at least two other sheltered "shacks" on property with tables where you can also eat. We noticed that everyone in the main room kept their coats on, which we did as well. It wasn't freezing, and it was nice that we weren't stifling with our coats on--when you need to remove winter gear inside, where the heck do you pile it all in a small place?? The temperature, with coats on, felt perfect to me. The menu is pretty comprehensive, even if it's posted quite small right next to the counter (where you order). Several options for hot dogs, corn dogs, chili dogs, different burgers included Beyond burgers. I didn't get a photo of the menu, but there was a bunch of stuff on there. Hopefully someone has posted a menu photo pan here. @Rani R. Passed on corn dogs for a chili dog--it was really good, and pretty sure there was beer in there. I went for a 1/4 pound burger with bacon, which unlike some of the big chains, felt like it was 1/4 AFTER cooking. It was house made, smoky, and delicious. We shared a basket of fries. Food was great! There is street parking, but also around three spaces tucked in back. I don't think that's well known, since despite a full main room and line of people placing orders, still had an empty space.

Schooner and fries - $13.50

It's not on the hill but for that truly apres ski bum vibe, Grumpy's has it in spades. Locals of all ages (but mostly 20 somethings) are dropping in from 3 to about 5 for schooners and burgers. There may be a line to get to the bartender but it moves fast and the fries are at the ready. They are mostly crunchy bits rather than long tasty potatoes but after a rowdy day of skiing and you're hangry, who cares?

Large beer

Great food and beer!! Loved the 1/2 burger and goblet of beer. Was given free sticker. Patio is amazing as well

We had 1/4 lb burger, fries and chili dog. Food is cooked fresh in the grill behind the bar. You order at the counter and they'll bring it to you. FYI our name was taken and they'll yell your name when your order is ready. We went at 1:30pm and they were still very busy so take that in to consideration when you go. They have some parking behind but the street may be harder. This is a bar type environment so it's loud and busy. Food is good I would go back for more.

So yummy! Great hole in the wall joint to stop in for a burger and fries. Beer on tap, $5 white wine from a single serve bottle. Great spot.

We visit Sun Valley several times a year and have driven past Sawtooth Brewery Public House more…read moretimes than I can count. There is almost always a large crowd gathered out front, which usually tells you everything you need to know--but we finally made a point to stop in for lunch on a beautiful sunny day. The Brews Since it's a public house, the beer list is extensive. I opted for their Pilsner and Lager. Both were exactly what you want on a warm afternoon: light, crisp, and incredibly refreshing. The Food We decided to put their "best in town" claims to the test, and they did not disappoint: * Fish and Chips: They advertise these as some of the best around, and I'm happy to report they aren't exaggerating. The breading was perfectly light--not greasy or heavy--and the fish itself was delicate, flaky, and cooked to perfection. * BLT with Grilled Halloumi: My wife went with this, and the addition of the halloumi was a game-changer. Served on a pretzel bun, it was a unique and delicious twist on a classic. * The Fries: You can't have a pub lunch without good fries. These are those "just right" beer pub fries--crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Easily my favorite style. Verdict The atmosphere was great, the service handled the crowd well, and the food was fantastic. We will definitely be back for lunch on our next trip. If you're in Ketchum, don't just drive by--give it a try.

It's a pub! Come in, order, and find a seat! They offer both alcoholic and nonalcoholic tap drinks…read moreor cans. So there is something for everyone! From the mug club, it seems like this is a local staple. There's trivia on Tuesdays. TVs on the walls. Picnic tables outside, if you're so inclined. I think some pubs just order from Sysco, fry it up and serve. Five stars because they're not doing that! Their food was "pub" but the elk burger was handmade and fresh, the pot pie wasn't out of a can thought the veg maybe been frozen not fresh, and some of the store bought stuff like their pretzel seemed better than a defrosted ballpark.

We stayed during ski season and here are the things I was most happy with (in no particular order): * The said it was a continental breakfast so I wasn't expecting all they offered like fresh local bagels and pastries, fresh berries, cut up pineapple, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, a very high quality granola, oatmeal with all the fixings, a pancake machine, juices, coffees with syrups and milks, lots of high quality tea choices, scrabbled eggs allow and with some mix-ins sometimes cheese or veggie, hard boiled eggs, meat like bacon sausage patties or links, sometime or potato like hash brown patties or shedded hash browns, roasted veggies, and on the weekend days they offered salmon with capers and onions. Plus flavored yogurts in individual containers and whole fruit like apples, oranges, and bananas. * humidifiers in the room. The hotel is so dry. We live at elevation in Park City, UT but Ketchum is drier! We ran the humidifier on high constantly but it was so great they offered this in the room. * they have a parking garage. It is $30/day AND there are easy access free spots around the hotel, but I imagine during peak season the offered parking is best. And it's covered so your car will be snow-free! * the heated pool for year round enjoyment (and two hot tubs). The air was too cold for my liking (because you have to get out eventually). * pretty decent gym with peloton bikes. * oh and the restaurant happy hour seems to be a hit with hotel guests and locals. The one huge downside was because it's so dry and they don't have a humidifier installed for the hotel, we got static shocked every time we touched the elevator buttons or unlocking our room. And it hurt! And when you're in town, I recommend the city museum, the wolf museum, the library, and the cemetery. And if the pedestrian paths are snow-free then head down Sun Valley Road.

After he told us what time the bar and kitchen close, we quickly made our decision of what we wanted to order. When he came back he walked right past us and SAT DOWN with two other girls at a table to talk and flirt with them for about 10-15 minute. we decided to go to the bar to order becuase he was chatting away and there was no bartender. the cooks were very nice though. FINALLY he came over to us when we were standing at the bar I told him that we just wanted to order before the kitchen closed, and he awkwardly took our order. When my friend asked if they had decaf coffee, he said they "don't really have that" BOY what do you mean a hotel does not have decaf coffee?! so I ordered what I thought was a rhubarb crip pie. I thought it would be worth it, boy was I WRONG. I can handle bad service but after spending $15 damn dollars on a dessert my ice cream was old, we could taste the crystals and some was a little chewy, in case you don't know that's not how icecream sound taste. and when I looked at my "Freshly made" pie it was literally rhubarb filling with some soggy stuff on top. NOT freshly made, and I couldn't eat it, I was so sad. Also we never got an apology, so that sucked. as Gordon Ramsay would say, " apologies to your customers and shut it down." So limelight, I just want my money back or something because that was an awful experience. - Angry Customer!
