What's to say that isn't positive. I cook ethnic foods quite a bit so I'm kind of a snob about sauce and flavoring. And I was totally won over with the bone broth beef and rice noodles. Staff was great, place was immaculate and nicely lit simply decorated (a dark restaurant means it's dirty, it's not ambience. I worked as a waitress through school.) Made it to Grub last week after seeing a review in Hudson News. The food was great and the portions substantial. A combination of Asian/Indian/Thai fusion made this spot very tasty. The spot is cool and casual and the service very good. A few stand out dishes for us, Smack Kani Salad, Coconut Garlic Rice Rice with Crispy Cod and Curry Roti Canai. MUST TRY!!! My husband and I stopped here for a business meeting on our way home from a business meeting in the city, based on all the excellent reviews and the 4.5 stars on Yelp. We were NOT disappointed. Everything was delicious and flavorful. Hence only one photo. We ordered teriyaki wasabi wings, korean beef buns, fish tacos, fries and lomein. We first received the lomein and fries. The lomein had a hint of garlic. Just the right amount of garlic to give it flavor and not turn you off. The fries were SO good, hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I had to fight my husband for the last one and he isn't even a french fry guy. Next came the tacos, also delicious and packed with flavor. The fish was seasoned very well and the fixens elevated it to a pocket of happiness when you bit it. Wish the tortillas were corn though. Let's talk wings. Those were some of the best wings I have ever had. They were crunchy on the outside and cooked perfectly on the inside and the flavors. The flavors were perfect! The teriyaki and wasabi complemented each other creating a harmonious balance. They were our favorite!!! Last but certainly not least we had the Korean beef buns. Pillowy soft bun with delicately flavored beef. The place was clean and the service was excellent. Can't wait for our next meeting in the city to stop here again or maybe we just have to drive down from Orange County because it's worth it. read more

New the area so decided to give Grub a try...glad I did! Wasn't sure what to expect on a Saturday in an off the beaten path location. The outside wasn't particularly impressive but I was instantly pleased to see lots of customers (even at the odd 2:00 pm time we were dining) and delicious smells. Not fancy but not shabby either. The general vibe is comfortable. The menu is eclectic but the staff was friendly and patient, answering any questions I had about the dishes. I ordered the red curry with jasmine rice. It was fantastic!!! The veggies were perfectly cooked, not at all mushy or over done. The red curry was amazing. I will be back to order the green curry. Super tasty food. The Tom Kha Soup is a perfectly spiced coconut soup for a cold day. I got the vegetarian option and I appreciated how much tofu and vegetables were in the soup. The food tastes like it was made with love. The Thai iced coffee was so good, perfectly sweet and creamy, great for a hot day. I got the panko breaded shrimp ball appetizer, which was absolutely amazing. The sauce they put on the side was money. The springy texture of the shrimp ball went so well with the crispy breading, never seen anything like that before and will definitely be having it again. The Tom Yum was so delicious, the broth was sour and sweet with the perfect amount of heat for me. Highly recommend the rice noodles because they really soak up all of that amazing flavor. This is super tasty food with quick and friendly service. I've tried carrots dishes here and they are all quite tasty. I've had the roti canai and the Korean beef, they are full of flavor and very satisfying. Portion sizes are decent. Not bad at all. A simple place, nice servers who are patient and helpful. We thought the shrimp cakes were not very flavorful, but decent (the way they're supposed to be)... I didn't like there spring rolls because there's very, very little filling (almost like eating the fried dough exterior all by itself), but the chicken lettuce wrap was a really good appetizer... it had a nice spicy mayo in it. Chicken Satay buns were very soft and fluffy with nice flavor. I forget the name in Thai, but my daughter got Lo Mein with veggies and it was great. My wife got a dish (she doesn't remember the name) that consisted of a bowl of rice with a separate bowl of a sort of beef stew (reminded me of pot roast beef) and that was awesome...a nice, thick brown sauce. I hesitated on ordering the pad thai cuz I'm really picky and reserved this when visiting a Thai restaurant to gauge how good and authentic the place is. This pad thai had all the things I look for... lots of fresh shrimp, lots of bean sprouts and peanuts... the fried egg was above and beyond my dreams... a whole fried egg on top that i get to slice into perfect sizes that let me actually taste the egg! The tofu was cut in the most perfect size as well and tasted like they knew they were cooking it for me... the crispy-softness was the way I liked it to be. Discovered this place during the pandemic and I've introduced many friends to it, with all of us regularly going back. The food is spectacular. Their new location is bright and airy. Much nicer than the more cramped space the restaurant used to occupy. I saw pictures of the Nasi Lemak (Indonesian fried rice), and it looked so good online I ordered that for myself. We got a noodle bowl that was absolutely delicious. Another favorite on our table was the vegetarian green curry with tofu. The roti canai was great too. I love that you can make almost any dish a vegetarian option, as I prefer not to eat meat. We had a spicy green curry with crispy duck which was divine. Wonton soup with homemade wontons. And fun little but generously optioned lettuce wraps. Prices are reasonable. I hear their whole fish entrees are amazing too. The atmosphere is kind of like a takeout place but the chef/owner, who comes out to greet customers, told us she is working on that. Used to be an amazing place, so much that we ordered every week. Quality has gone down hill and their attitude continues going up. The bases are all the same flavor and you can tell that all they do is boil the protein and throw it in the base curry with limited flavor differentiation.
