The person at the cash register had no customer service. Getting her to answer any simple question seemed to annoy her even though I was the only person in the restaurant. My daughter ordered a wrap with shrimp and chicken tenders with rice and beans for my 6 year old grandaughter. What a disappointment, I should have read the reviews before I went. Healthy choices, but their proteins lacked flavor, and their shrimp was rubber. The chicken tenders and my rotisserie chicken were both dry. However, the Mexican corn and broccoli were very good. The potatoes had a great flavor, but they were gritty, like they were not washed. The beans were ok, but oregano seemed to be the primary ingredient. The avocado toast was just OK. It is smashed avocado (not seasoned at all) spread over bread. Nothing special, just OK. The presentation looked appetizing though... I don't write many reviews because I cook a whole lot at home. As much as I want to love it I cant justify paying ~ $20 for a soggy skimpy chicken wrap. (Be it free-range or whatever) The ONLY reason I would go back is to order my toddler a kids meal. As a supporter of local businesses (albeit owned by a mega millionaire) I really wanted to give Grown a chance after reading reviews and unfortunately all reviews seem to be on point. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because the staff was super friendly. My friend and I ordered the Capri wrap with Chicken and a Chicken Tortilla soup. Once they dropped off the wrap, we knew it was going to be bad when the oil was seeping through the wrapper and onto the table. I can honestly say this was one of the most disgusting wraps I have ever eaten in my life. It was so drenched in oil, that I had to use a napkin to hold the sandwich together before it fell apart and I gave up. I was so hungry after my workout that I just forced myself to eat one half of the wrap that was basically inedible. The other half went straight in the garbage. The soup wasn't the best. It was also so oily that left a slimy film on my lips. I ate it anyways 1. because I was freezing and 2. I would die of hunger. I think what upset me the most is that this meal cost $21.00. The roasted potatoes were the perfect texture, marinated with fresh herbs to perfection. The corn was buttery, sweet, and perfectly salty. I am a huge fan of real food and Grown's core concept & values align with my own. If you're looking for a full organic no BS location to eat something nutritious and delicious you've definitely introduced yourself to the right place. The Havana was suggested, which is their most popular Latin style salad (they have it in sandwich as well), I went for the Mediterranean style salad with grilled salmon. The price was equivalent to Cheese Cake factory pricing, but the difference in freshness is far beyond an experiment I had at cheese cake. The server/cashier advised me of the items on the menu, another staff member brought me the food immediately (I mean with 7 min of ordering) salmon perfectly grilled and moist. Quinoa was perfectly cooked and seasoned, humus was not runny and the flavor was on point. The spring mix, organic and so crisp, olives, feta cheese and cherry tomatoes so fresh. Amazing display of colors. Couldn't stop eating this salad so I had to write this review. Great spot and needs more frequent visits by me and anyone who can enjoy an nice organic nutritious meal. What a disappointment. We got two chicken wraps and paid an insane $17 each. The wraps were made with good ingredients, but were soggy, tiny, and bland. The chicken tortilla soup was very good, but the potato soup (soup of the day) tasted like cream and desperately needed seasoning. I do enjoy the interior of the restaurant, although there was not enough seating. We felt like we won the jackpot when we found a place to sit because there were so many people walking around with food in their hands with no place to eat. In short, I will never be back. If these wraps were $7 I would never be back. I got about 3 ounces of actual chicken and half a handful of anything else. Seating capacity was full due to being 12:30 p.m lunch rush. So we were happy to find a seat at the children's table where they have iPads on the wall with pre-installed kids learning apps and games. Cool idea! As a parent I was curious to see what else these iPads could do... Surf the web? Yes! Search for things kids should not have access to? Yes! Yikes!! No parent controls on these iPads. I thought about a site I wouldn't want my kid to go to and typed it in... I was able to go to playboy.com no problem! Now, I do think parents should be supervising their kids, but I also think that if they're providing iPads for kids they should set proper controls. Price was expensive for the portions. The food in this much-needed eatery in Pinecrest, strategically located near Trader Joe's, is tasty albeit on the small portion side. The menu offers just the right mix of proteins, sides and juices/smoothies. The downside is that it is a small place. I don't mind standing in line to order food but I stood in line outside. This is probably better than standing in line next to the diners. Next up is what everyone grumbles about the price--two lunch portions, a pressed juice and soup will set you back $49.22. It isn't the Allens fault. Sadly, it is the state of farming and the American dietary preference for processed foods over fresh, organic vegetables. We ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap with the soup of the day, which was a decent size, and tasted great, but for 18 bucks was overpriced. We also ordered the personal portion brisket plate with Brussels sprouts and quinoa, which was also overpriced at 18 bucks. Decided to go the healthy route for my Saturday dinner and ended up at Grown. I will say that this restaurant is stunning. You don't feel like your in Miami but in some cozy home from HGTV. The young lady at the register was really nice and helped us decide on what to order and what is popular on there menu. The concept is you decide whether a salad, sandwich or wrap (wheat) and choice from 6 different pairings or you can cultivate your own. You can add your protein as well for an additional cost. I enjoyed my salad that I cultivated with 5 different toppings. I added chicken breast, but paid a whooping $18?!?! Ummmm I love healthy food and I'm here for organic, but the price was to much. I usually order soup and salad with my meals, that would have taken me an additional $4 for there minestrone. That's $22 for me alone without a drink. As a GROWN-up, I have GROWN very fond of the freshly-GROWN organic food at GROWN! As a matter of fact, if my bank account balance would have GROWN more, I would've been coming here to eat ALL THE TIME! Alas, I am not rich. Like, when they say it's some sort of chicken soup (say, chicken tortilla), it REALLY has chicken in it, LOTS of big meaty chunks of chicken!! Free flavored water ... They have two clear beverage dispensers at their front entrance, one has water infused with fresh lemons & strawberries, the other with sliced apples & cucumbers. Then ... I sort of ruined my clean, healthy vibe by ordering a chocolate cupcake ($2.68 inc. tax) ... but, hey, it's organic, right?! Haha. Truth is, I have no willpower when it comes to chocolate. Opened in Spring 2016 by Miami resident Shannon Allen and her husband Ray Allen (Yes, the former NBA player Ray Allen), Grown was born out of frustration. The Allens, who have five children, were in search of healthy fast-food for their young son who has Type 1 diabetes. Frustrated that they could not find any local options, they set out to do it themselves and open their own restaurant ... and that's how the idea for GROWN was grown! Service is always friendly and efficient. You are immediately greeted upon entering. The front counter is where you place your order, pay, and receive your food - within four minutes - just like any other fast food locale. They even have a DRIVE-THRU - just like any other fast-food joint. Grown remains the first and only USDA-certified organic fast-food restaurant with a drive-thru on the East Coast. Pretty cool! The Allens opened a few more locations within the past two years, with perhaps the most notable being in the summer of 2017 when they opened a location inside a Walmart Supercenter in Orlando. Their goal is to open many more, and franchises, too, in order to reach as much of our population as possible. They want to make REAL food accessible to the masses.
