I had grove heating and cooling install a ductless mini-split system and was extremely pleased with the courteous service and the neat job done by the installers. They discussed various details of the project as they were working on them to make sure I was happy with the work. The team went above and beyond by removing an unsightly electrical conduit that was no longer being used but was still attached to my house in the same area where they were installing the AC system. Having them take care of that was an unexpected bonus. The only thing that could have been better - when the team arrived to do the install they had a plan showing where the various components were to be installed. I would have preferred to see that plan before the team arrived to do the work. read more

I have been a customer of Grove for almost ten years. I have had the maintenance package as well as purchased my new water heater from them. There have never been any issues, so there was no doubt in my mind that when my HVAC unit died, I would go to them to get a new one. It started well with the sales team, and the installation team showed up right on time. Then everything started going south. I only have a tiny condo, 1200 square feet, so they gave me a time frame of 4-8 hours. At hour 10, they finally gave in and left the job 98% done. The head technician was visibly and very vocally annoyed the entire day. As they were finishing up, the other technician broke off the tube to my humidifier, and the head technician's frustration took over. They informed me that they had contacted the office, and Grove would be reaching out to arrange for someone to come and ensure the humidifier was fixed and a new tube was installed. This was on Monday; by Friday, I had not heard from Grove, so I called to inquire. While I was on the phone with them, I received a text stating they needed to schedule someone to come out and finish the job (in so many words). It was odd that I was on the phone for this issue when, all of a sudden, I got a text to schedule, but I just brushed it off as a coincidence. They gave me a time frame for the following Monday from 12-4 pm. It was my ignorance that I thought, "Hey, they didn't finish the job. I am sure they will put me close to the front of the line since it was their issue not finishing the initial job." Well, I was wrong. The technician arrived at 3:45 and assessed the necessary work, only to realize he didn't have PVC glue and would have to return to the shop to pick some up. This added another 30-40 minutes waiting around for him to come back with glue to finish the job. Now, Grove called me to schedule a pre-inspection before the county came out for the final inspection. This was when it became apparent that this company had no respect for its customer's time. They scheduled the next appointment from 12-4 pm. At 3:35, I received a test from the technician stating they would be here in 50-60 minutes, which is approximately an hour late. I had plans and rescheduled. I was not pleased to have 4 hours of my time wasted, but things happened. I got rescheduled and had to take the day off of work for the appointment. Once again, a 12-4 pm appointment. Once again, around 3:30, the office texted me that the technician was running late and that they would let me know once they had an exact time frame. I called to get clarity on the issue and realized I am now at their mercy. The office called back less than five minutes later to inform me that the pre-inspection was completed on the same day my humidifier was fixed. Overall, I had to miss work and waited over 8 hours for nothing. I would never recommend this company to anyone. There are apparent issues with the managerial staff who runs appointments and customer service. The lack of communication amongst themselves and the lack of basic customer service was extremely disappointing. With the numerous companies available, I look forward to taking my business elsewhere. read more

Grove installed a new AC and Heating unit for me some time ago. I also purchased an air filtration system and a whole home humidifier, which has never worked. The techs who have looked at it have cleaned a valve for a pipe coming off the hot water heater, but that didn't solve the problem. The next time they came out, they replaced the valve and told me the unit was getting water; however, I still have to run separate humidifiers in various rooms because the system does not work. That system has not worked since the day they installed it. So I called today and asked them to send a tech out to attempt to fix it yet again and I was told that I would have to pay a $124 diagnostic fee and even if they performed repairs, I would still have to pay that fee; it would not be included in the total cost like most reputable, customer service oriented companies do. Thus this review. I paid darn good money for that system and it has never worked. I have no idea why and apparently, they don't know either, even though they installed it. So, I used to think their customer service was good; however, being polite is only part of good customer service: standing by your work is the essence of quality customer service. So Grove is apparently one of those companies that install a system that's designed to bleed you dry after the warranty expires. Buyer beware, right? -I will file a complaint with the BBB and post numerous negative reviews elsewhere. Perhaps that will get their attention. Should they make good on their work, I will revise my review. read more

Of course, no one likes to spend money fixing stuff in their homes, but if you have to, use this company! They are probably one of the most honest and reliable businesses I have ever encountered. Their pricing is fair, they know their stuff, and they will never rip you off. They will stick with you until the project is done. We had them work on a large project last year that turned very complicated and took a while to diagnose. They returned when they said they were supposed to, answered our calls, and communicated every step along the way. They showed great patience answering questions from different association board members and owners that they would not have had to deal with for a typical single family installation. There was one technician who did all of the sheet metal work and another who did the brazing and both seemed very competent. Grove came to check out my humidifier attached to my air handler that was not working. Arrow was the name of the technician. He was very polite and highly knowledgeable. He checked the wiring and then quickly diagnosed that both the solenoid and humidistat were bad, and demonstrated that the solenoid was not allowing water to pass through. I was very pleased with the outcome of this visit. I have used Grove in the past (to replace a heat pump) and will use them again. read more

I used Grove recently to put in a new A/C and Furnace in the house. Daniel was prompt and thorough for my estimate. When they came to put in the unit, they were on time and they worked very hard to get the unit installed and working. They did a great job, cleaned up after themselves and they were very knowledgable about the equipment. I highly recommend Grove to my friends and neighbors. Just a note, they were a little more expensive than a couple of other places. But they are locally owned and operated. And that makes a difference for me. Finally, about two weeks after my A/C unit was installed. It stopped blowing cold air (naturally on a very hot day), so at 4:30 in the afternoon, I called the service line. By 5:30 one of Gary Grove's sons and a technician were at the house. The Unit had catostrophically failed. They did not know why. But, I guess even A/C Units can be a lemon. Instead of just ordering parts, they called the disrtibutor, found a new Unit, then made arrangments to pick it up and bring it to my house to re-install the next morning. At 6:30 the next morning, a Grove truck was in my driveway, the technician came in, and started the process of putting in the new unit. . .at 7:30 the new Unit had arrived, and by 10:00 am, the house was cooling off. Just splendid. If I was concerned about paying a little more, that went out the window with the customer service. Excellent JOB! read more

Grove Heating and Cooling is excellent. My AC stopped working at night, and I called in the morning on a Saturday and they were able to have a technician out on the same day. Kevin was the technician who helped me, and he was great. He was honest, explained everything in a way that I could understand, and gave me a great summary of all my options. He was able to do all of the work needed, and was courteous and respectful (even down to the shoe covers so he wouldn't get our hardwood dirty). I was extremely pleased with Grove, and would highly recommend them. Every aspect of the experience was as low stress as I could have hoped. read more

We had the maintenance contract and have only had problems with the technician and lack of knowledge. After several service calls they immediately wanted to replace the unit. Preformed a repair that failed. We got another opinion from a competitor which shows wrong diagnosis. They aren't interested in repairing. Grove only wants to sell you a new unit! Wrote letter to owner and was treated horribly and told , we did nothing wrong. Had another company fix our unit and tightened and fix what Grove had neglected to find the real problem, a leaking connectors. Our unit works perfectly. We paid over 2000.00 to Grove and got nothing. We asked the owner for a $800.00 refund. Was told no! Poor customer service and horrible technicians! The fact is you didn't fix anything! But certainly wanted our money. The honest way to conduct business would be , admit your mistakes and refund the customer! read more

Another one of those rip offs, when you go through a company, they overcharge, and only do half the job. Then days after the service you find out the problem still exists. Run into this problem all too often with these companies. Had a clogged pipe that regulates condensation from the HVAC system that caused a huge backup of water to collect in the pan, at least a few gallons of water just sitting in the pan, not draining. Guy came out unclogged the pipe to prevent blockage, great. Supposedly used a shop vac to vacuum the water, but by the time he was done, the same amount of water still remained in the pan. Once he was done, said, it would take a few days for the water to completely drain slowly, ok cool. Three days later, water still at same level, maybe 0.5 inches lower. My husband realized he went to the gym with a HVAC technician and asked him to come over and take a look. Guy came over, did the job RIGHT. Took the HVAC unit apart, got into the pan, sucked all the water out and dumped it, now the pan free of water, as it should've been done when this company came out. Moral of the story, find a good, reliable, and reasonable general contractor who does work on the side. They are more upfront, honest, and make sure they do the job right because they pride themselves on being loyal to their customers. Companies try to charge you as much, but do half the job. read more

Greg of Groves HVAC recently installed a new heat pump unit for us. He worked diligently to get us back up & running on a 90+ degree day. After a 12 hour day of install, he wasn't completely satisfied with the end product. Something about a humming. He followed up promptly and was back with an additional vent to complete the install to his satisfaction (we didn't even notice the humming). I can't yet rate the system they put in, as I'll wait to see what happens after the utility bills start coming in. They were professional and the work was done timely. My big issue is that in all of our discussions, there was to be a $900 cash rebate, and they would take care of the paperwork. 2 months later I have not seen it, so I called. Now I'm told it's in the form of a tax credit and a Washington Gas credit, and I have to apply for them. They were very misleading - I am a CPA, so I know what a tax credit is, and that is not how it was described at all. Yes, it's my fault ultimately but I am a trusting person and believed what I was told. Our discussions were very clear. read more

Grove installed a geothermal system in the house I bought less than 4.5 years ago. Grove has replaced 3 thermal expansion valves in this time. The last thermal expansion valve was replaced April of 2019, per climate master. Grove says they have a 1 Year parts and labor warranty on anything they install, yet they want $1100 to replace this valve again. I have not had heat the entire winter, and I have small children. I'm missing the integrity. read more

A week ago I had my 16 year old Carrier Air Conditioning/Heat pump replaced by Grove Heating and Cooling. I purchase a Trane unit...the first time I had gone with Trane, but after much research and comparative shopping, I choose their product. I could not be happier...in fact my wife is elated by how quite the unit runs and the results it has produced thus far..especially in the high heat we are experiencing now..our house is effortlessly cool. The instillation of our new unit and the removal of my old one went about as seamlessly as could be imagined. The technicians were in and out in one day, with next to no interruptions. They answered all my questions, were exceptionally courteous, cleaned up after themselves, instructed me in the use of the new unit and thermostat, helped me fill out the form for my rebate and left me with clear instructions on who to call if they were needed.
