Kevin is A M A Z I N G! I can't believe it took me this long to write a 5 start review. This is an excellent hair salon on multiple levels. I've been going there for years. The front desk staff is highly professional and welcoming. They send timely appointment reminders via email and calls. The hair dressers/stylists are ALL extremely qualified and polite. I even take my 11 year old son here to see Kevin. They are also very knowledgeable regarding buying products that are appropriate for your hair type. I've never had a bad haircut here. Extremely disappointed in the customer service I just received from this salon. I was fortunate enough to snag a last minute appointment with them which I appreciate but had to miss the appointment because I was pulled into support for work. I have never been charged for the full service if missed before or even half charge. I feel extremely terrible that I messed up a stylists morning but to be punished like a child, I will not be returning. The "manager" that I spoke to was aloof and unconcerned. I was not warned about this policy and when asked for how I would like to be contacted I requested text which does not provide a written policy as well. I am so frustrated. read more

This place is nice! I enjoyed the complimentary tea. It was my first time going to Grove. Karina cut my hair and did a really good job. My hair is coarse, curly and long and was last cut by someone who wasn't experienced. My hair feels a lot healthier. The woman at the front desk was really sweet and attentive. Love the vibe in this salon it's so crisp, new and modern and everyone is so nice and the receptionist knows who you are when you check in. Most importantly I love my new cut and color by Chase. I have natural curly hair and a lot of it, Chase cut it in this new shape adding a few more layers, it took so much bulk out of hair that it feels so light and I use less shampoo and conditioner. Now the color is the best part I have been trying to get my old stylist to color my hair this red violet for the last year and it never turn out, I love it. My 14 year old wanted a dramatic change, going from waste-length straight hair, to an A-Line bob. My daughter had taken the time to draw what she had in mind, and Karen did a fantastic job bringing it to life. She took into account my daughter's natural wave, and explained how she would need to work with her hair to accomplish the look on her own. Liz absolutely loves her new style, and I love not having to brush out all the tangles from the extra-long mess she used to have. My daughter was elated that Karen was so talented as to bring her dream hair to life! I have to admit, that as I waited, watching Karen work, I looked at myself in the mirror and wanted a little magic for myself too! There was absolutely no pressure for product, or additional services, it was such a relaxing atmosphere! I was offered coffee while I waited, and enjoyed the ambiance. If you are looking for someone to give life to you hair, Chase Michna is the hair stylist to see!! My hair was dull and boring and Chase completely TRANSFORMED my hair to look lively, bouncy and so much more fun. My hair is medium length and I wanted to keep the length, but wanted to cut it to look healthier, and she did just that. Chase Michna is the hair stylist I've been looking for!! Chase was recommended by more than 1 friend and so finally I made an appointment to see her last week. Now, I'm not terribly fussy about my hair but at the same time it needs to be just right. That makes things very difficult for a stylist! Chase nailed it. She listened better than most hair stylists I've visited over the years. She worked slowly but efficiently, carefully listening and checking in with me. A very satisfying client experience. When my hairstylist moved out of state a few years back, I decided to give Grove a try and I'm so glad I did. I love the atmosphere and every haircut and highlight has been great. I just went back for the first time since COVID and I felt completely safe. The layout of the salon allows everyone to have plenty of space and the high ceilings offer great air circulation. The staff and stylists are also diligent about pre-screening clients, mask wearing, and sanitizing. I even got a my highlights done outside on the deck which was lovely! This was my first time at The Grove and my first time getting my hair done since Covid. I scheduled my appointment with Bethany and I am so very happy with the results. I had super dull blond, 6 inches of sad roots and like 5 different colors. I showed Bethany my inspiration photo and she was so happy to help and ready to give me a much needed makeover. The salon is taking such great measures to keep everyone safe. I really appreciate how strict they are being and asking all of the right questions. Too many people are taking Covid lightly and not really thinking about others. Anyone working with the public is putting themselves at risk so everyone here is a total rock star. I didn't struggle with having to wear a mask the entire appointment and everyone did a great job social distancing. I hadn't had a haircut in almost two years and wanted to find a new salon. I checked on Yelp and found rave reviews for Grove so decided to try it. It's a beautiful salon with lots of light and wood. They have safe and distanced stations. My stylist Bethany was very sweet and listened to my concerns and thoughts, and I liked her suggestions for my wavy/curly hair. First time at Grove and I saw Chase. Very pleased. She took time to listen to exactly what I wanted. I haven't found a place that I would consider going back to until today. Today's service included a 10% off for next visit and I made sure to schedule her in advance. The only thing I don't like is the cancellation policy. 48 hours notice or they charge you half the service price and you need to provide your credit card info to schedule your appointment. I understand people gotta get paid for their time but damn sometimes things come up and I don't think that's fair, especially if you're just wanting to reschedule. I had an awesome experience getting my hair cut at Grove. I was greeted right as I entered by a sweet bubbly gal working the front desk. I was offered complimentary water, coffee, or tea. I got there a little early so I was able to check out their awesome supply of hair products and beautiful jewelry as I sipped my coffee. Sandra helped me out right on time. She was very nice and gave me an awesome head massage while washing my hair! I barely had to explain anything about what style cut I wanted, she literally took the words out of my mouth and knew exactly what I wanted. A "beachy" look that doesn't look like I "just got it cut" and a little more "rugged". I LOVE my cut. You get what you pay for and I have to say spending a little more for a cut at grove made all the difference. I'll definitely be back to see Sandra soon! read more

I've been coming here since just after they opened. Never have I felt more cared for at a salon. Christina's knowledge about hair is top notch and all the people in the salon are right there with her. I've watched a few employees come and go, but right now the atmosphere, energy and mood are so perfect! I highly recommend any of the stylists. Sondra is amazing! She managed to color my black hair in a way that gave it noticeable dimension and interest (not just barely visible in sunlight), but still grew out amazingly well and natural-looking. I am so happy I made the time to treat myself to this during my last pregnancy (literally days before I was due!), because even though I have little time to do much with my hair lately, the great cut and color makes me feel like I have something going on at least. My previous haircut at another salon didn't grow out well, with what looked like two distinct layers that made my fine hair look scraggly at the end. I booked here to fix it, and have to say this is the BEST experience I've ever had. With my fine hair, i usually walk out if salons looking awfully puffy, like 90s soccer mom helmet hair. Kevin not only fixed my hair and made it look exactly like I wanted, he gave me lots of tips on how to prevent over washing and what products to use. I really wanted to love this salon given it's great reviews. Unfortunately, I couldn't get past the appointment-making stage. They charged me a cancellation fee of 50% when I had to cancel the morning of due to my kid being sick. Normally, I would be okay with their 48 hour cancellation policy, but I made the appointment the afternoon before because they had a cancellation. Whatever. So, I make a new appointment and show up today. I had to Uber there and pay for childcare for my kids in order to go. I get there and the front desk girl tells me it only shows in their system that the appointment time was offered to me, not that I accepted it. Okay. What? She also gives me some bullshit about the old girl who does the scheduling doesn't work there anymore. She says she needs to talk to the manager, comes back and says, "since we don't have a voice mail or email confirmation stating that you accepted the appointment time, there is nothing we can do for you." Well, that's because I talked to her on the phone. You know what you could have done is not acted like it was my fault and offer me a discount on my haircut when I come back or at least offer to refund the previous cancellation charge. Oh well, you can keep my $45 instead of the hundreds and hundreds of dollars I would have given you for cut and color down the road. I just made an appointment with Modena down the street. Their reviews look good and they seem customer service oriented. read more

When my beloved stylist of 15 years moved to another state I started my search for a new salon and stylist right away. After combing through reviews, talking to people, and searching for someone who can work with curly hair, I stumbled upon Grove. I am so glad that I did!! I had my first appointment a few weeks back for a cut and highlight and I had such a wonderful experience. First off, the stylist Chase is amazing. She listened and allowed me to share what my other stylist had been doing with my hair (I love my old hair). She suggested a few things like how to bring out more color in my hair, so I said "go for it" (and I love my new hair even more). Chase just did an amazing job! The salon is equally wonderful! I've been trying to get an appointment at Grove for the last few months, but being that they book up so quickly, and I never really know what my schedule is going to look like, it has made booking way in advance fairly difficult. I've gone to 5 different salons in the past 9 months, and even with presenting the same photo I've never really gotten the cut I wanted. I called yesterday in the off chance that there would be a last minute cancellation, and it must have been my lucky day because there was! Every one of the staff was so welcoming, great atmosphere, just what I had hoped for. Grove is "the" experience without all the ridiculous "look-at-me-isms" of the salon industry. When I go to a salon, I expect a beautiful but comfortable environment, friendly and welcoming staff - and above all (and most importantly), skilled stylists! Grove is the best of ALL of that. My stylist, owner Christina Lemaraner, is an expert colorist and provided an excellent cut for my hair type. I have been stopped on the street by people asking where I get my hair done! One of the most special parts of my appointment? Christina and I had a full discussion about some of the hair colors I wanted - for instance, I was thinking I wanted to go red or deep brown, but with all the grey in my hair and my desire for a low-maintenance beauty life-style, Christine advised me on the best color work for me and my life-style. I simply don't have time to do red, but I do have the time for a fabulous blond with perfect high and low-lights that look gorgeous and natural. The salon itself has all the amenities of a high-end salon without the pretension. And the best products on the market. And the robes were high quality and comfortable, the coffee service was perfect, even the cutting and rinsing chairs are uber-comfortable. Seriously - while I was under the dryer processing, I couldn't even hear the dryer. They chose an unobtrusive dryer for a nicer experience. You can tell that the emphasis in design was on the customer. I loved the light, open space, the privacy of the processing area in the back, the wifi access, the little outdoor courtyard that maximizes the view of the hills...every little detail was perfect. I came here after deciding that i wanted to cut my hair short. I had always had long hair so to cut it short was something scary for me and i didn't want to go to someone who was gonna cut it to short or just mess it up. After doing some serious research i narrowed it down to two place unfortunately my number 1 choice didn't have any appointment available soon so i decided to go with choice number 2 which was grove. I can honestly say it was the best thing it could had happen to me. I called in and they were able to squeeze me in short notice. When the day came i was nervous but when i arrived they greeted me so kindly that it ease some of my nervousness away. When it was time to cut my hair my hairstylist Sondra made sure she understood how i wanted it to get cut. Honestly the end result was amazing i felt so beautiful. I am SO happy I found Grove! The salon is beautifully designed, making for a very relaxing environment. The service was great, very friendly and professional. I hadn't had my hair cut in a very long time and I didn't really want to lose any length but it was flat and damaged and needed a cut. I don't have very much money in the budget for hair so I was happy about their hair model price, and lucky that what I wanted was what they wanted from a model. I just thought some layers would be nice, but they gave me a cut that was WAY better than just some layers. I made the appointment with Nikki, and Christine was there to assist. They were both very wonderful. Christine has obviously been at this a long time and has a great eye. Nikki was super sweet and did a wonderful job.
