Camilla requested that I send her a photo of what her hair looks like now and what the desired look was. Once she reviewed, she was able to fit my daughter in quickly. We were in awe with what a amazing job Camilla did on my daughters hair. She really took to time to get the desired look and didn't rush through it. Once she was done with the highlights, she applied toner, blow dried and straighten her hair. I can honestly say, I have never seen my daughter as pleased after leaving a salon as she did today. She ever referred for Camilla as a G and Fire, (all good things!) Camilla has great prices, her shop is in a good location with easy to find street parking and she really takes the time to give you what you are looking for. I came here after doing a little research before hand (I am one of those overly crazy and attached with their hair persons), and I must say that I was more than happy and satisfied with everything!!! It was hard for me to decide on how many stars to leave in this review ... On one hand Camilla and Darin were very friendly and Darin really listened to me. I brought a photo of me after my last hair cut and I wanted to keep the same style. We had a good discussion on how to cut my hair and how can I style it later. On the other hand the hair cut was really sloppy ... When my husband saw it later he was like "what happened to your hair?! Did you ask your mom to chop it shorter?" Below is a photo ... I found Camilla's through their Groupon, and was very glad I did. The Groupon was a great deal for the cut, but I don't think the cut is worth the full price. Camilla's Salon is small but clean and boasts homey touches, such as the comfy couch for waiting clients and the tea/coffee offered upon arrival. The front area of the salon houses three stylist stations, while the back has a small kitchen and laundry area thinly veiled by a curtain. I made an appointment with Camilla, who spent a good amount of time at the start of our appointment making sure she knew exactly what I wanted. She took her time and was conscientious with the cut, even though we got a late start (something in the morning had pushed her appointments back for the rest of the day). However, when a last-minute client walked in for an appointment immediately following mine, she got a bit frantic and sped up the appointment. For having to wait due to the shifted schedule, I was a bit frustrated to not receive my full hour appointment slot. Overall, I was very happy with my cut, and feel Camilla is knowledgeable and skilled. One star taken off for the unfinished interior, but hopefully I'll be back to visit Camilla again soon! read more

I have a love-hate relationship with my hair. It is super fine but I have a ton of it, so it makes it difficult to cut. I often get really weird choppy layers because people just don't know what to do with it. Darin did a fantastic job with my cut! He is very experienced and knew exactly how to handle my hair. I am a "senior citizen" and have tried various salons for hair cuts but the first time in years I've been really pleased was the last three cuts which were done by Darin Jue at Salon Camilla. Often I don't feel welcome as a senior not looking for high style but just a good haircut that isn't specifically and "old lady" style. Darin gives me a cut that looks natural and not dated. On the day of the appointment, I reached out to confirm (just to be sure) and was told "Hi sorry we cancelled your appointment yesterday. It is filled already." When I asked for an explanation, none was given. All I was told was that there was no availability. From the reviews on yelp and Groupon, I was really excited to try this salon. I saw Darin recently and am very happy with my haircut. He listened carefully to what I wanted and had great attention to detail when cutting my hair. I went from shoulder length hair to a short bob style. We also discussed how to make a pixie cut work with my face shape and he discussed how that style could be customized for me. Camilla (the salon's namesake) was there as well working with another client, but she took the time to greet me and thank me for coming in. In terms of scheduling they were able to fit me in for a next day appointment. Overall a very pleasant experience. read more

She is kind, caring, detailed, careful, technical & patient. She never rushes through your cut/style, taking extra care to ensure it's done to your liking. Camilla does everything you need, from a simple cut to Japanese hair straightening, perms, dyes, etc... The interior is very zen, uncluttered, calm and quiet. My hair is very curly and frizzy and hard to work with, but Darin never disappoints and I am always pleased with my haircut. I am as happy as can be after Camilla gave me a great cut and keratin treatment. I had booked an hour appointment and she worked on my hair for 3 hours without charging me more (yes I did give her a nice tip and you should too). I have lots of curly, wavy hair which gets frizzy on top and she painstakingly treated and heated each strand until it was perfect. Then she gave me an amazing cut.
