The worst electronic repair store ever. They never picked up my phone call and barely responded my text message. Amir told me he was able to repair my laptop in 2 business days and it took him 1 week and gave me back my laptop that was still broken. The day I went to pick up my laptop he was even yelling at me and kicked his trash can... Then he kept saying he was unable to log in my laptop and the password I gave to him was wrong. However, that was not ture because the second store I went they were able to log in using the exact same password and retrived the data inside of my laptop. At the end Amir charged me over $300 without fixing my laptop, lied about my laptop's condition and treated his customer with poor manners. I can't imagine this kind of store exists in the Westwood... I guess I need to be careful next time because many stores paid people to write positive comments on Yelp. read more

You would think with five stars, Group Micro would offer unbelievably low prices, but instead they offer exceptional customer service tailored to your needs. The owner, Sevada, cares deeply about customer satisfaction, and genuinely wants to solve your computer needs. You should be aware hours are spotty during opening. I had to stand outside for 15 minutes until somebody showed up. But, again, Sevada's friendliness is the only saving grace. My laptop battery ended its life, and as I use this computer constantly, i was concerned about how I would have a new battery installed without a lot of downtime. I contacted Group Micro regarding this issue. They pre-ordered the battery, and let me know when it arrived. I then took the laptop in and they were prepared to replace it within 1 hour. When I returned, the computer was ready. During the new battery installation, they discovered that the old battery had expanded over it's life time, affecting the keyboard function (I had been using an exterior keyboard to circumvent this problem) They adjusted some internal wiring, to bring the keyboard back to life. Came here like two months ago, but never got around to giving a review. Came in for a broken laptop that wouldn't turn on. Led me to believe that it was a simple fix, at least after they receive a part. Which they also led me to believe would only be a few days. Apparently it wasn't a simple fix and the problem required a more expensive part. My problem with them wasn't that, but their complete lack of communication. Made it clear it was important for me to get my laptop as soon as possible. Each time, thought it would be ready in few days. I get no call or update. So each time after more than a few days, I had to call in myself. If you knew there was a delay in shipment for a part, shouldn't I get a call ahead of time? That went on for quite a few times. Each time I called, they said the part would arrive soon. And that became a month.. And even after had to personally call on updates if my files were backed up for me to pick up. Originally said it was $200 for file recovery. Asked again when I called to pick up the files, asking how much. With a hint of attitude asks me what the technician originally told me. I said $200 and the guy told me that's how much it'll be. When I come in and pay, they charge me $240. This is including an 8gb usb, (which doesn't even cost $10), and after me using a 10% yelp coupon. He said it was cuz of sales tax... Don't know what tax or math they're using. Probably ignored the coupon. IDK. But honestly was too mentally exhausted to deal with them anymore. So paid anyways. Giving 2 stars cause I'm not as upset anymore... Honestly, I'm super impressed. These guys are on their customer service game and know how to make a customer happy. I came in with a broken screen on my iPhone 6, they hooked it up with an excellent new screen that made me feel like I had a brand new phone. I've had a cracked screen before that was fixed and the glass that Group Micro used was WAY BETTER, stronger, and clearer. Amazing service and pretty fast as well! I came in today to get my iPhone 6S Plus battery replaced due to it being super old and causing problems on the phone. Apple's replacement battery service takes too long and the waitlist is up to two months at the moment so this seemed like the best choice. Lucky for yelp. Its hard to trust computer recovery or repair services as you feel they will always try to rip you off. I went to them cause I had spilled coffee on my Macbook Pro computer on the plane. It started glitching (I had tried the rice trick and it doesn't work) and looked on yelp for a fast good place to replace my keyboard. I took it in on a Sat and they replaced my keyboard that day. Two days later it faulted again and I called them saying they had done something wrong. They took a look and said it was completely different and had to do with my hard drive. My hard drive had been giving me problems before so this didn't seem out of the question. Since I had just taken it in, they gave me a discount and again repaired that day even though I was in a time crunch to get my computer back as it was now a weekday and needed it for work. I had an EXCELLENT experience at Group Micro Computers after I figured out which of the cell phone repair shops on the short stretch of Broxton it actually was. My jailbroken iPhone had gotten a software bug that caused it to restart every time I unlocked it. I brought it in and they were able to identify the issue and resolve it quickly by setting my phone back to factory settings and then restoring my data through a backup. The owner called me the next day to make sure everything was still working well, and he noted that they have a 1 year service warranty. Awesome! There was initially a little confusion with price quotes; they quoted me $35 but ended up charging me $58. The correct price was in fact $58 - they just gave me a bad estimate. When I let the owner know about this after the fact, he offered to refund me the difference and give me a free power bank to charge my phone. Who does that? Bottom line: the BEST customer service I've ever experienced from an owner. I will certainly be back! read more

The guy looked at it for a whole, typed some stuff on his computer, and basically notified me that this particular model is on recall and that I should contact apple support to get it fixed for free. I've lived in Westwood for 10 years, and must have walked past this shop hundreds of times. Until recently, I've been hesitant to have my Apple products serviced by third-party shops. However, I'm so glad I brought my daughter's iPhone here today. In less than an hour, Sevada and staff had replaced the shattered screen. Wow! This place was a lifesaver. I called over dozens of businesses and even went to the Genius Bar at Apple twice, and no one could figure out how to recover the data on my phone. Basically, it stopped working one day, wouldn't turn on/boot up and went into recovery mode. However, no one could bring it out of that deathly screen with the Apple logo, telling me to wipe my data if it wouldn't restore on iTunes (which it didn't, even at Apple). My wife's iphone had been having battery issues for awhile and finally died one night. Group was the only place open. That is worth one star. They where able to replace the battery and get the phone working. Charged me $65 for a "New" Battery. This one died within 2 days. Went back and they replaced it again with another "New" Battery. This second one die a week later. So we took it to the apple store and after they ran a battery diagnostic they said this battery has had over 600 full charge cycles!!! UPDATED: I was contacted by the owner and he offered me a full refund and a complimentary Iphone case, screen protector, and power bank. read more

My MacBook Pro 13" screen cracked -the glass, not LSD. I also did a water damage check which turned out that I did have some form of water damage that would have interfered with the short circuits and my computer would have shut down randomly if I had kept using it. Great service and super efficient! My boyfriend cracked the screen on his iPhone 7 and needed it repaired ASAP. Apple takes a while since you have to make an appointment, so we looked on yelp and this place looked promising. We dropped the phone off, and it was replaced in under an hour for under a $100. At first, he chose the generic screen because it was $20 cheaper, but after it got serviced, he noticed that the screen wasn't up to par, so we asked if he could get it switched to the higher quality one and didn't expect him to say yes because it's definitely our fault. BUT! He did say yes! That is seriously what makes this place stand out and deserve all the good reviews it gets. The customer service is unparalleled and it's what makes all the difference when you're looking to get you're phone fixed. You will never find this level of customer service in those mall kiosks that do screen repairs even though the price is the same. My boyfriend also got a charger for his MacBook and I got a screen cover for my iPhone X. The MacBook charger is authentic (so it won't mess up the MacBook by using a cheap made in China one), and buying it used was very cheap compared to the prices for authentic chargers you can find online. I'm also very satisfied with my screen cover, which the worker applied for me, because the cutout for the notch is not as big. My old screen protector left a lot more gaps than this one does, so it didn't covers as much surface area. Besides the great and quick service, they carry so many Apple accessories at a comparable price that in the future, I'll skip amazon and come here so that I don't have to wait for 2 day shipping.
