Before I knew of Matvey Construction I had 3 individual contractors review my covered porch (35'by6') with concrete slab flooring sections. Sitting on the floor is 6 large pillars supporting the roof of the porch. Inside each pillar is a 4 by 6 post protruding through the concrete sitting in a pier block. One slab section had broken away from its pier block due to the concrete slab itself breaking apart affecting the dropping of the pillar and one section of the slab about 1-2 inches. I could anticipate major problems and dollars to correct should the pillar and concrete drop further. As an Engineer myself during my work years prior to retirement I was not happy with the three contractors that each painted a bleak picture and major dollars to repair along with quote possible roof line elevation changes etc. I was at a loss and began searching the internet, after many hours I stumbled across Matvey Construction and gave them a call. Matvey from the first call answered every question, explained the type of work that they offered and set up for a person to review the site. The person reviewed the site at the time and date they said they would as well as answer all my questions which after the previous 3 contractors were pretty tough questions. I was pleased with what the person said and waited for the quotation. Meanwhile the Matvey inside coordinator kept me constantly in the loop, as to how the bid process would work etc., along with the timing of the quote. The Matvey Structual Engineer reviewed the pictures of the porch area of concern and thus provided 2 individual detailed quotations. One being for the pier process and the other for the Poly process. One crew does the pier and another crew a couple of days later did the poly. Both crews arrived as expected and each expertly did their portion of the project. In closing, I am totally impressed with the quality of work they performed on my porch, the professionalism of the work crews, their explaining of each process each was responsible for and the general overall kindness of each worker which nowadays is not a common thing from my view point. The price for both bids together for the total job was very reasonable and I could not be happier . Matthew's proposal, and William's and Eli's completion of my project were very straightforward, professional, and I'm vastly pleased with the outcome. Sections of my 55-year-old exposed aggregate back patio and front driveway had sunk and cracked, causing pools of rain to collect near my foundation and presenting significant trip hazards. Matthew's inspection, explanation, and suggestions backed up by visual information made me confident that despite the aggregate's poor condition and age, I was making a much better choice than replacing it as a few of my neighbors had (at six times the price)! William and Eli applied themselves immediately on arrival, asking clarifying questions at first and then soliciting my opinions as they worked without stopping. When six hours later they were finished, William's level confirmed that every section was as level as practical without demolition, particularly the problem sections causing rain to collect and threaten my foundation. Cracks had become almost invisible, unlike some of my neighbors' DIY efforts. After Matthew had given me an estimate, and while William and Eli completed the project, all three gentlemen spotted additional details that needed improvement, and addressed them at no expense. Matvey went above and beyond for us when we were in contract to purchase a home that had foundation issues that were uncovered in the pre-inspection. We had to get foundation repair bids in 3 days to be able to make a decision about if/how to proceed. Matvey squeezed us in for a free inspection last minute even though they were super busy. They even spent time reviewing the pre-inspection report that uncovered the issue in the first place. Ryan was so professional and thorough during his inspection. He addressed underlying issues that caused the foundation disrepair and addressed other concerns we had before we had to ask. He was much more through and comprehensive than the other foundation repair company that came out the day before. Ryan provided a proposal and estimate later that same night and worked with us to understand what was absolutely essential for the safety of the house. They were kind, professional and knowledgeable. We didn't get the house...yet...because the owners weren't willing to budge on the price. But if the house comes back to us or we find another house that has structural and foundation issues, we will definitely go with Matvey over any other company we met with or talked with. If I could give Matvey a zero I would. We had a signed and approved contract in August, and paid 50% down. Job was scheduled for mid October, a long time to wait. They just had to install temporary cribbing on floor joists, raising the house about an inch to relieve pressure on the stoop prior to leveling the stoop. Our remodel job was put on hold waiting for these guys. On the day of the job, the foam guys took a look and said we can't do that for that money. What? Foam guys are now estimators? Did they even look at the scope of work to be done that was clearly stated in the approved contract? Then Matvey wanted a lot more money to do the job, $5000 more. Remember no engineer or project manager ever came out and looked at the job only a sales estimator. They offered to do the job for $2500 more. Their idea of making things right. This left us feeling like we were being scammed. They claim their estimators have all the tools necessary to give you a quote on the spot but make no mention that it could end of costing you thousands more. I guess if they make you wait long enough you might be willing to pay more just to get the job done. Long story short, they would not honor original contract and we canceled the contract and are awaiting a full refund of our deposit. Don't fall for this ploy. read more

We had been getting cracks on the inside walls of our 70 year old house for a couple of years. Called Matvey and asked to have someone come out and check the foundation. Zac was very thorough in his inspection and explanation, verbally and in writing and computer drawings. We agreed to have the engineering firm Matvey deals with come out and do their inspection, drawings, etc. and talked over all the findings. We decided to have the process started (post and pier) and corona virus hit and the stay home, stay safe decree was issued. Through all the emails back and forth and a couple of phone calls, Matvey was very good about keeping us informed as to their work schedule and as soon as they were back out working, we were set up with an appointment and the work started. The two crew members, Andre and Sergei, were excellent. Went out of their way to explain every day what they would be doing, noise we should expect, had us come out at the end of each day to see what they had done and kept our yard in great condition. It was all done in four days, which was two days earlier then projected, and passed inspection with no problems. Definitely recommend Matvey. read more

I am really happy with the foundation repair work I got....especially with Andrei A, the tall, skinny, spirited one who communicated everything with me as the work was being done, wow is that ever an involved process....I'm sorry I don't know the name of the tireless worker who never talked and never stopped shoveling! I looked out once and his head was so far below ground level and all was done by hand, amazing, so I trust you know who he is, get him in on the rewards! He was called away on another job, so Donnie came to the rescue to finish up...steps....railing.....and door gate, all back together again! I was referred to Matvey by a family friend. Although the Matvey bid was more expensive than the other company I had quote the job, the family friend is very particular so I figured the extra money was worth it, and I was right! We have a 20-foot exposed aggregate concrete walkway to our home. Over the years, some cracks appeared and portions of the walkway were sliding away from the house. Matvey came out to provide an estimate. The salesperson was friendly, efficient, and not pushy. Getting on the schedule was not terribly difficult, considering the global pandemic that is/was happening at the time. The workers came out and we discussed the project before they began work. They did a great job and the attention to detail is very impressive. I would definitely hire Matvey again. They may not be the least expensive option, but you get what you pay for and now I have a 25-year warranty on their work. As a homeowner with a home built in 1978, there is no shortage of home projects and I'm thrilled that I can check this off my To-Do list. Every time I walk on the pathway I think how nice it looks! I had slight slippage of my back steps to the house and some shift in the patio area surrounding it that was more severe in my backyard. In Feb 2018 we hired Matvey to correct the situation after a free estimate and explanation of how they were going to fix the situation. We were / are pleased with the work they did. After a few years there has been some subtle shifting of the area of cement that they worked on. We called to have them honor the long and transferable warranty that came with the work which was one of the main reasons we went with Matvey to begin with. They set up an appointment within a week, came out and fixed the areas we had concerns about and put it back in place once again. They were very quick, and responded to our needs and honored the warrantee. I was a little skeptical I have to admit a few years ago about how this warrantee would be dealt with in the future. Small addition on post and pier. 2 low spots I brought to attention. They sent two estimators. I said I'd like to be as level as possible without future settling. They said you'll be happy, it won't be perfect but better and you'll be happy. The supervisor comes in and I point out low areas or divots in floor, the 2nd low spot not much improved, but a close area made worse. His exact words were" you need a half a beam here and a beam there to do this right! When I called main office I was told for the cost of materials they could fix it. I said I didn't get it done right now I don't think so. He offered to lower the floor to correct the other area they caused to change. He said they would call and come out, that was December 11th! I was never told you need 3 1/2 beams to do this "right". I spent over 16,000 I can't believe the waste of money for what I didn't get. If someone would have said you might not get the results with just 2 beams. or it might change the other area of floor support or we can't guarantee results unless you do xyz . wow and just wow. read more

Recently, our homeowners association contacted Matvey Foundation Repair to address problems with sinking driveway and patio slabs as well as repair the failing foundation at a stone column. Within a couple of days their design tech arrived to evaluate each item and prepare a comprehensive plan to correct the problems along with a cost proposal. A few days after accepting their proposal, the PolyLevel team arrived and leveled the driveway and patio slabs within a few hours. When their work was completed the only evidence of their being here was the completely level slabs. The column foundation repair required a different technique and their team for that work arrived the next day to complete that work. A lot of hard physical work was required to get the column level and back into its original position. "Good enough" wasn't going to be acceptable for these folks and they kept at it until it was done correctly. If the need arises again, we would be glad to hire them again. read more

We were impressed with the work done by Matvey to lift the concrete front porch slab and attached walkway. The crew arrived a bit early which was a "plus" and got right to work. They were pleasant, courteous and took the time to fully explain the process to prepare for and inject the PolyLEVEL substance. The work was done in a very short time and the crew left our property clean and nearly unblemished -- as if they had never been there. We had previously had the areas "lifted" by another company -twice- only to have the concrete drop again. As such, we are particularly pleased the way Matvey stands by their product and their work with a 25-year limited warranty. Further, by comparison, we believe Matvey's prices are fair and reasonable. While we are confident we will not have a recurrence of our issues requiring Matvey's services, we would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing to have concrete raised or similar services. read more

I recently hired Matvey Const. to perform a Polylevel on our sidewalk. The sidewalk had cracked in several places and created a trip hazard. They gave me a great estimate and excellent warranty which they stand behind as they did for me. I saved money by not having to replace the whole sidewalk with a new one. The sidewalk is now level and we are very happy with it. Matvey Const. was great - they did exactly what they said. Project Administrator was always easy to talk to and she always called me back. The job was in the Shelton area and they were the only company to drive that far to service our area. I have to admit, my experience with construction companies had been less than 3 star (experienced appt no shows, lack of communications, comments that made me feel as if my job was insignificant,etc) so I was pleasingly surprised when Matvey respectfully communicated with me every step of the way - from my first inquiry to the actual work, thru the conscientious clean up care and the final issuing of the 25yr warranty. Our job was in Bellingham (Sudden Valley) and I was hesitant that they would service that area (I always thought of them as a King/Pierce/Snohomish type of company) but so glad to know they are accommodating to travel.... and no added costs. We needed to fix concrete pad under a mailbox outside of our house. We thought it would be as simple as just pouring the concrete pad and that's what most contractors have told us. However after having conversation with Matvey construction we learn that the very issue we had was the result of improper construction off concrete pad. It turned out that we needed a special flexible concrete that would flex depending on a weather between a ground and a metal post. Essentially after interviewing four contractors only one turned out to be knowledgeable and prevented us from re-creating the problem we already had. We were even more surprised when learn that it would be just the service call, and would only take a few hours, and the cost was lower than most. In the end, they were very professional, showed up on time, didn't require supervision and fixed the problem. read more

The project was a lot bigger than I realized. Originally we were going to use 15 piers to stableize my foundation. We had the engineers come in, and they recommended more, and more rebar. I ended up going with the engineers recommendations, which meant the project would cost more. I felt like the engineers would know best. I could never have imagined how great a job Matvey and their team would do. They showed up on time everyday, and they informed me every step of the way, what they were going to be doing that day. They ran into a snag, and they told me what they were going to do to get it rectified, and they did just that. The project was compleated on Time. Their clearly explained bid came in considerably lower than the two other companies I interviewed, with the added Matvey plus of a 25 year transferrable guarantee. The crew who arrived to do the work were prompt and polite, allowed time for explanations, arranged for me to observe the work, and were genial to the observers looking after my interests. Our concrete slab was sinking from some kind of soil erosion situation. Matvey's Team headed by Andrew came to the house, measured, scrutinized, and analyzed our house and then wrote up a proposal and design for lifting the house back to its original place through a patented method called poly leveling. The poly level Team that came headed by Daniel were efficient, competent, careful, and helpful. The house is now "fixed". Poly level is practically magic! To better support a garage post, the "smart jack" team came in and put in a metal tube that has greatly shored up our garage and the house above it and took away our old garage post.
