I was very impressed with AA Asphalting. I had multiple companies come out for a bid on a driveway apron (the easement in front of the property and part of the driveway). The guy who came out was prompt, courteous, and got me a quote via email in a day. Most of these guys can't even be bothered to show up on time, much less be nice about it (like they are doing you the favor!). The bid was slightly higher than other quotes, but they were very clear as to the scope of the job and I have seen their trucks repeatedly in our Shoreline neighborhood and took that as a good sign. I signed the contract and they emailed me a day they scheduled to come out and asked if it was good for me, which it was (a Friday). The Saturday before the scheduled work, the job foreman (Aaron) came out and inspected the site thoroughly so there would be no surprises on the project. He was friendly and took serious all of my requests and concerns. Friday, they showed up promptly at 8:00 and worked non-stop on the job until it was completed around 4:00. They had a huge crew with many different machines and you can tell they really cared about getting the job done well and completely. All of the guys looked professional and were courteous when I asked them a question, or needed to get out of the driveway. All of their equipment is clean and looks like they invest a lot in it. The foreman was present pretty much the whole time. I had one issue with the asphalt: There were a few spots where the rocks were a little more exposed and there were gaps where the rocks may come loose. I saw a spot near the driveway and pointed it out to the foreman. I asked why this was and he said that the density of the asphalt load varies from their provider. ***The important part is that even though this was a trivial issue, they spent the time necessary to fix the couple of spots without complaint and were very nice about it.*** Whoever runs this company knows what's important to their customers! read more

They were contracted by the city of Seattle to do some work and ended up crushing several dozen plants on my property by throwing heavy equipment on them. When confronted the employees grudgingly said they would move the equipment but considering that it had already destroyed all the plants beneath it, I'm not sure what that accomplished. The degree of disrespect for private property is embarrassing. I have videos and photos of the damage. read more

Signs up for street work (No Parking August 1-2), street ripped up, concrete poured, metal plate put on top and then... NOTHING Plate left there, cones blocking parking, no parking signs left behind, "plate ahead" signs left on sidewalk. When they were here, I asked the main guy how long the plate would remain - "just one more day." (It's damn noisy when the buses/trucks drive over it!) THEY ABANDONED THE JOB - I can see by the other reviews that these folks have no respect for neighbors. read more

This company does not take responsibility for one of there drivers mistakes. On 8-27-2020 traveling on highway 500 in Vancouver, WA a number of rocks came flying out of an AA Asphalting truck at my 2017 Ford F150 and one of the rocks cracked my windshield and damaged some of my paint on hood. This is the email i received from AAA Asphalt--------------------------- In researching the damaged windshield incident that happened yesterday, our driver was heading back to the yard and had been hauling asphalt all day and was empty at the time. IF rocks came from our vehicle they would have been picked up off the roadway and therefore is considered road hazards. AA Asphalting will not except liability for your damages. Disrespectful. Loud. Inconsiderate. Did not clean up their mess. This crew worked on the street in front of my house. From what I can tell, the work they did was acceptable. But their behavior was not. Our quiet residential block had to endure the crew members cursing loudly at each other. They honked their giant truck horns repeatedly for no good reason (to get the attention of someone 20 feet away). They left behind water bottles and debris from what I assume was a lunch break. They also did not clean up the mess they made in my neighbors lawn. Big chunks of dirt, wood and stone scattered around, and patches of grass torn out that were not near the area they were working. Just careless and disrespectful. We all gave them a few days, expecting someone to come back and clean up their mess. No one did. Finally I saw the elderly daughter of my even more elderly neighbor out in the street with a broom cleaning up the mess this crew left behind in front of their house. At that point, I and other neighbors pitched in and cleaned up the mess they left. On the positive side, it's safe to assume they are inexpensive compared to similar services. read more

The only reason this company is getting this rating is because Mandy who came out to put no parking signs up at our location was very helpful and cooperative especially when we were not going to be able to use our driveway. Otherwise this company was frustrating. Blocked our street parking for a week, then never showed. Took down the signs and re put them up a week later blocking parking again. Then after the job they dumped something in our bushes leaving a concrete residue that after rain still isn't gone. Concrete reside down poured down the sidewalk after they dumped it. The worst-- they left concrete rubbish and rockery in the side grass area. Don't use this company! read more

total Jerks. They towed everybody on my block so they could park their cars on our street, and didnt put up enough warning signs for the neighborhood. When i asked the crew what happened they said they tow all cars within 50 feet of any road work sign. the crew was eating pizza and didn't care at all that they impounded cars because they were too negligent to alert the block properly. Impound cost me $300 and made me late for work. They call it AA Assholes for a reason. read more

Tell me how asphalting is considered an essential service in the middle of a quarantine. Why are these people cracking open the damn street right outside my windows at 8 in the goddamn morning on a weekend. I tried talking to someone in the crew to see how long this would go on for and they gave me a number to call which apparently isn't even open. So who the hell is making these guy work during this pandemic? The road has been screwed up long before all this and I highly doubt this bullshit construction is considered ESSENTIAL. With everyone holed up in their homes all we want is at least one day of peace on a fucking weekend. read more

No respect for the neighborhood and are currently blocking both entrances to our alley way so me and my neighbors can't get in/out all day. Every other construction company figures out how to only block one entrance. One of their trucks is just parked and blocking with no need to be there. This company is being represented by PSE. they should not be represented by any respectable company at all. Their job is to pour concrete around our new relocated gas meter. From scheduling and work quality, there is nothing great with this company. This job started 3 months ago. All they need to do is pour concrete. Sound simple right? Well they found a way to make it complicated. First they did not use a frame board when they first poured the concrete. It cracked the siding covering on our house as evident in the picture I attached. I informed them about this and it was such a pain and it took several weeks to get them to schedule fixing it. So when they finally came to fix it, they had to demolished their previous concrete work so they can make it right and fix the siding on our wall. They did fix the crack on the wall and installed board frames before pouring concrete again. But then they left a big hole on the corner of the concrete to our house. I have contacted them several times again for several weeks. It is so difficult to contact them and get them to reply. After a few weeks, the superintendent finally responded and told that they will fix the corner hole. It is now going 3 weeks since he told me that, and still the hole is unfixed. I tried contacting them again, and now they totally stopped communicating with me. Up to today, the hole is still not fixed so I just temporarily placed a board to cover it so critters won't go inside. It also started to rain, eventually rain water will find its way into that hole. Well this review is for trying to get a job with this company, was in emails with the HR (No need to provide names there is 1) confirmed an interview for Friday 08/23/2019 (which I told her over the phone I have taken the day off for this interview from my current job) she sends an email today (08/21/2019) stating the superintendent already went with someone and they will keep my information for later? So unprofessional that they can't even give me the interview AFTER TAKING THE DAY OFF. Trash company will never recommened anyone to them. No wonder you have a 2.5 star rating. read more
