We have dealt with nighttime raccoon damage to our lawn and garden (off and on ) for several years. Thus, we have called upon Matt at Ground Control on several occasions. He responds promptly to service requests. He surveys the property and provides an assessment of which critters are causing the damage, i.e., moles, gophers, raccoons, etc. In our case, his video cameras recorded the number of raccoons on the property and the time(s) of their appearance. Matt was great to work with, very responsive and quick to get back to me and was able to quickly come check out the issue we were dealing with in our yard. For the first time in decades of living at this house, I had a gopher problem. The holes were multiplying and spreading, right under a new and expensive succulent garden. Thanks for the excellent fast work! I'm so happy I chose you over the competition ! I finally have my yard back. I called 3 other companies and got quotes and had long conversations about how the gophers would be removed, the process being used, quality control etc. From the first contact with Matt the owner he let me know that first he charged by the animal caught and at first I was like huh but then it made total sense. All of the companies I called wanted money upfront with no guarantee of actual effectiveness as in actual critter caught so I could have literally been paying for nothing. I wasn't asking for guarantee of gophers NOT returning just in exchange for this $395 ( another company quoted me in addition to a $171 a month for 6 months contract ) just did you actually catch any at all . His business practice was to come out assess the scene, and charge when he actually caught something. Go with this option guys! You could otherwise be paying for absolutely nothing. Matt was great! I have had mole issues for well over a year which is distressing because I feel my lawn and landscaping are so beautiful. To get rid of the mole we've tried sonic stakes, traps, poison, you name it. I finally decided to replace the whole lawn, which isn't all that large, since the mole living there had pretty much destroyed it. I had a horrible gopher problem. I estimated over 200 yards of gallery. One of my neighbors was using Smith Gopher Trapping. I thought he could give me an estimate while working at my neighbor. Instead they Emailed me a contract for $375 plus yearly maintenance. Next, my gardener recommended the Gopher Guy (he never responded) or ATCO. They sent me a contract before showing up as well. Someone else recommended Clark. They came to give me an estimate. Again, there was a hefty contract plus monthly maintenance (they do not use traps, and therefore were an no go for me). Finally, searching the Web, I discovered Ground Control right here in San Rafael. Matt, the owner, called me back within an hour and showed up at 6 PM the same day. A very likable and knowledgeable guy, he said he used traps, no contract. "I am a bounty guy" he said. "You pay $125 when I catch a gopher, nothing if I don't".
