We are regulars at this location, but still call out on times of exceptional service. It was Friday so we may sure to get on the wait list and were 28th in line, but timed our arrival perfectly. They were busy, but our server, Jay Van, made sure to stop by and say hello and that he would be over in a sec to get our drink orders, but wanted to let us know he saw us. Sure enough, he was back in just a few minutes. It was very busy in there and we were tucked in a back corner, but he made sure to check on us, and when he did, it never felt rushed. He had mentioned he'd only been there a couple of weeks, but he seemed very comfortable and really added to our experience at one of our favorite spots! Food, as always, was on point! read more

Great Place to come enjoy some Tex- Mex food. Every time I come to this location I get great customer service. If there is a wait I'm never waiting more and 20-30 minutes. I started off by ordering the Egg Rolls which were very flavorful. The cilantro cream sauce that it came with was a good combination. The poblano sauce and chicken enchiladas were delicious and the Shrimp/ Beef fajita quesadilla hit the spot. I grew up in Pearland - and a fan of Gringo's. Fast forwarded an undisclosed number of years - I have a Gringo's near me on the north side. This restaurant is next door to my son's swim school so we often pop in after swim class. During my last few visits, they've sat us in the bar area - and during the last few visits, my experience has been less than stellar. Mostly, it stems from service. I know restaurants are running bare bones due to staffing shortages, but the folks that were covering my table just flat out disappeared. In both of the last two visits, I had to flag someone else down for service. During one of my last visits, I also placed a to-go order. The order was only partially filled. I like Gringo's overall - especially their burger, but I'm just bummed on the recent consistent experience. read more

Great experience for it to be my first time and we had a great waitress named Koren. I had a nice strong drink and food was awesome. Queso was great too! We decided to give this a try for dinner. We ordered the Summer Special and the Chicken Fajita Bowl with a side of queso. The food was ready for pick up in a reasonable time frame as well as the gentleman that brought the food out was pleasant. The queso was Ok. The chips were light and tasty. The presentation of the food was good. The flavor, not so much. The rice was bland and not your typical spanish rice. The fajita chicken seasoning was similar to Taco Cabana flavor. My husband said his ground beef taco wasn't that good either. Maybe it was a hit or miss type of night. It wasn't for us. But give it a try. You may like the food. read more

We went to Gringo's again this weekend and we're reminded how lucky we are to have such a reliable go-to Tex-Mex place in our neighborhood. Gringo's is everything you want from a local Tex-Mex joint: excellent food across every variety, reasonable prices, professional service, and very very consistent. I don't understand the negative reviews here - they must be going to a different place or ordering different dishes, but we've been all over the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Make no mistake, this is not fine dining but this is neighborhood Tex-Mex at its best. You get what you pay for here, and more. We have ranged far and wide trying to find better or cheaper or more, and keep coming back. It beats El Tiempo on price and consistency. It beats Goode Company in The Woodlands on price. It beats Chuy's on everything. Sure, five stars seems generous, but this restaurant is exactly what it purports to be, and it does it every day, all day, and always has. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this place. I ordered a bowl that had chicken, shrimp and crawfish tails. It was delicious!

Great food, customer service was amazing, the bartender was super sweet and was giving me so many options and ideas, she's some what talk and wears glasses, didn't get her name, but she was fantastic; I got a shrimp avocado salad, and it was amazing, it had beans, corn, and tortillas curls (and more) that added an amazing texture to the plate, it was pretty good, didn't get to eat the shrimp since I'm a vegetarian, but my friend said that they were great!!!; I do wish they had some vegetarian or vegan options on the menus, but other than that, it was great!!!! read more

Stopped in for lunch after a funeral. Place was really busy but we were seated right away, no waiting, Our server was Christena and there has never been a more hard-working, helpful, cheerful, sympathetic person on the planet. We were really impressed with her. She was busier than a one-armed paper hanger but she consistently found a few extra moments to get us whatever we needed for our meal. Way to go, Christena! **Update 01/08/21** I'm upping my review after a great conversation with Audrey about the work Gringo's is putting into improving their curbside process. The food is 5 star Tex-Mex, and after our conversation, I'm confident that they'll have the to-go kinks worked out shortly.** First off, this review is strictly based on my experiences with the curbside service over the last several months. The food is and always has been excellent in my opinion, and I highly recommend it! We've had a "Gringo's Friday Fajitas" tradition for about the last 5 years here in Spring, and before that, 5 years in Pearland at the original Gringo's. We have pretty much ordered the same thing every week. I know there is a ton of turnover in a restaurant kitchen, that it is fast-paced, stressful, and often a thankless job. I also recognize that the lockdowns forced restaurants to really revamp and adapt how they did business to survive. There were hiccups with orders during the early phases of their reopening and the summer, but that's understandable as they worked to refine their curbside service. I'm only bringing up the most recent issues in this review. They seemed to have stabilized their take-out process, making one think that this is the level of service to be expected going forward. Three weeks ago, instead of beef fajitas for 3, chicken for 1, we got beef x2 and chicken x2, aggravating but certainly not the end of the world. We did not receive the extra half-pint of guacamole two weeks ago, which we order every week. Again, aggravating, especially paying for something and not receiving it. This Saturday (Fajita Friday's was pushed a day due to Christmas ), I got home, and despite ordering extra red and green sauce, there was absolutely none in the bag. For this, I drove back up to the restaurant, not to really complain but to get my red and green. Every time, I was ensured that they'd confirmed everything was in the bag. These three are just the most recent ones as we are consistently missing tortillas, queso, salsa, etc., from our order. Please understand that I have tried to bring up these issues before. I spoke to the take out manager about two months ago. I had joked to the young man bringing the food to the truck that I thought that bag looked a little small for all the food we'd ordered. He told me, "no, it's all there; two entrees can fit in this bag." While he ran the ticket, I double-checked, and sure enough, we were missing half the fajitas. I'm sure this makes me sound like a high maintenance customer, but that's really not the case. Most of the time, we shrug off the mistakes and try to enjoy our Friday evening. But I want my order right, and when it's confirmed that everything is there, then it should all be there. My wife tells me to go through the bag, and she's not wrong. However, going through a bag of containers in the truck at night is a pain and shouldn't be necessary. Lastly, I said that I knew this was a thankless part of a restaurant's operation (I washed dishes and prepped years ago in college), so I tip 20% every single time on the take-out side. I understand that their jobs are just as important as the waitstaff, but I don't know if I can continue to do that when I don't get the same service level. I enjoy not getting out of the truck, but it (and I hate to say this) was better when you had to go in and get your food. There you got that same type of service. They recognized the people that came in every week and went through everyone's order to confirm with you that everything ordered was in the bag. The food is great, and I highly recommend it. I would not recommend delivery or curbside without double-checking your order before leaving. read more

So went here today to have some soup and take away last nights adventure buuuuuuttt not so bueno.. Chips came out fresh indeed but very oily.. Tip-- let drain or sit for a minute before serving... I don't want to see or touch the grease. Then soup came but was lukewarm and I believe we were the first customers of the day so there is no excuse for that.. Hmmm what else... Strawberry lemonade is way too syrupy, tortilla strips u put in soup as a topping were stale, refried beans had no flavor and quesadilla was all cheese... I mean I came bc it's by church and its convenient but they never quite get the food right here... The staff is nice and service is good but the gringos towards sugarland is way better!! Jairo @Gringos is best server I have had the pleasure of encountering since I moved to Texas in 2012. Jairo's attention to every detail will leave you feeling as though he is only waiting on you. He will seamlessly manage the bar, wait on a regular (who prefers a table) and without skipping a beat....walk out to a car to assist a couple in for lunch. Food was mediocre at best. Sat at bar and we were waited on by Jairo. He makes you feel like he is on top of things...only to be left wondering wtf when he bring you the absolute wrong drink! He screwed up others drink orders too. What's odd is he confidently announced my order in front of me only to completely serve the absolute wrong beer. Seriously- were you even listening? Then my food was screwed up as well. Jairo does not listen!!! He disappeared for long periods of time. After sitting for 15 minutes with an empty glass, we asked for the check and left. Terrible. My family is trying to stay sane during the Coronavirus pandemic. Today we decided to get fajitas from Gringo's. There's no dining in because of social distancing, so I called our food order in. The employee who took my order was very friendly and efficient. We ordered the mixed fajitas for two with refried beans and rice. Everything was good, except for the tortillas, which were a bit tough. I think that they had been made early in the day, so they were a bit stale. Everything else was good. We were able to pay for our food with a credit card. Every part of the transaction took consideration of the need to socially distance from each other. Considering what a hard time all restaurants are having during the quarantine, Gringo's has it all figured out. We support Gringo's and hope that this restaurant will survive during this economic downturn. May God protect us all from the Coronavirus. read more
