I'm not much of a pizza fan, but really enjoyed the pizza here. However, they are letting teenagers run the place on weekends and that's a disaster. They're mostly lazy and unconcerned. They were sitting around on their phones and chatting and rarely tending to customers. I could see my pizza come to the window. The waitress grabbed a random cutter to cut it into slices (she didn't know I could see her) and my pizza which was an all meat pizza ended up with fragments of a green vegetable on it by accident. This place is too pricey for that level of service and lack of care for what is being served. This place is in a prime location, a nice building and has potential, but letting unsupervised teenagers run the place is going to be it's downfall read more

Decided to try this location since I was in the area. They have a HUGE patio area. It takes up half the restaurant making the inside seem small. They have a few cozy booths and mostly tables. 3 STARS Service was decent my waitress seemed new and couldn't answer certain questions without asking another employee. She also had trouble getting my bill correct. 2.5 STARS Pizza slice was loaded with pepperoni and came out hot and fast. 3 STARS Overall an ok visit and if in the area I would come back on a cool day for the patio. The service was good, the lunch time atmosphere was good. The server was attentive and personable. It took a few moments before host came to their stand to seat me. The pizza was disappointing tbh. I have been to the original Grimaldi spot in NY and another location in CO. Both were great experiences and ironically I visited to them all during lunch. Comparatively this place would be the third between the all. Why? The pizza was well behind the other 2. The cheese was slightly overcooked a to the point it room away from the pizza experience. I'm giving this 3 stars, only because the service was mediocre. If I'm going out to eat a expensive pizza and order 2 $15 drinks, you better make sure the service is above average. We sat outside and it was a nice night but the table was dirty, our server didn't bring out the right drink order and someone else delivered our pizza. She showed up at the table and walked away mid sentence as we were trying to order another beer. We maybe saw her come by the table 3 times in the hour and 1/2 we were there. I tipped her 20% and my total was $75! That's a lot of money to spend out on a dinner. I wish it was better service. read more

Food is okay, service okay, location is quite good if you're staying in a nearby hotel (which I was), or attending an event at the Toyota Center. The problem mainly is the proximity of the Toyota Center, the restaurants here cannot adequately handle the hordes of fans before and after a concert. Many people in the evening are pretty intoxicated. Prices are as badly over reasonable as with all the other restaurants around here, so I can't hold that against them. I was here with a group of academics attending a meeting nearby, we wanted to talk. I don't really like how today's waitstaff interrupt to accelerate service, but that's certainly not unique to this restaurant. You could do worse around here. read more

Apparently, Grimaldi's Pizzeria is all over Texas, as I saw several locations all over Dallas, as well as in Houston, Sugar Land, Woodlands, Katy, & Friendswood, Tx.. Grimaldi's is known for their coal-fired brick oven pizza, as this family owned business started in Brooklyn over 100 years ago. The Grimaldi's restaurant we went to was just next door from the Toyota Music Factory. Parking here was a pain, as the mall area was very crowded, but after driving around in the area, I found a parking structure & Grimaldi's validates your parking ticket using a QR code. Upon getting seated & looking over the menu, I decided to get a 12 inch Margherita pizza, & a ice tea to wash it down. My coworkers all ordered - "The Don" which consisted of a pepperoni, Italian sausage, & meatball pizza. What can I say about the pizza? It was very good! Kinda reminds me of a pizza joint we have here in da 808 called - Brick Oven Pizza. The pizza had a thin light crust, and the crust held up the ingredients well. I placed my order over an hour in advance, showed up, and was told they had no record of it. No apology, no effort to fix it--just confused looks and questions like, "Are you sure it was this location?" and "Did you actually call?" It wasn't until I showed my call log that they finally checked and found the order on their end. The manager was no help--just shrugged and said, "Someone must've taken it," with no accountability whatsoever. And after all that? They still tried to charge me for a side of ranch. A must try for pizza!! We snuck out of a concert next door at the Toyota Music Factory to beat the crowd after the show so we could score some pizza. We didn't know we would absolutely love this pizza. We were quickly greeted at the door to a quiet restaurant and bar on a Friday night. It seemed low key and had a great NY pizzeria feel to it. Service was good start to finish and it was great to see the manager up front and present as well as assisting his staff. We ordered a bruschetta appetizer (we tried 1 of every kind) as well as a margherita pizza with pepperoni, along with some ranch dressing. Bruschetta was wonderful: Tomato basil was very fresh with great flavor Artichoke was delicious and very impressed with the light but delicious flavor this one had. The red pepper and ricotta was def my favorite and the roasted red peppers were everything! Now - for the best part - the pizza!!! First, I want to recognize the man who worked his butt off the ENTIRE duration of our visit. This man was on fire!! He pumped our pizza after pizza like a machine. Carefully crafting each pizza and he was killing it! I sat there most of the time mesmerized by him. Victor - you alone made this the best part of my visit! Thank you. The pizza was every bit of NY brick oven pizza. Hot and bubbly, crispy and slightly burned crust. Perfect amount of sauce. It was divine!!! My husband still raves this was the highlight of that weekend (not the concert we saw haha). I was even more happy with the best serving of ranch! THIS is the side of ranch I want with my pizza!!! I'm surprised by the low reviews, my carry out order was delightful. A $14 regular 12 inch pizza with quality ingredients and extra sauce on the side for dipping. It came out fresh and tasty, the employee gave me red pepper and parm without me asking. I couldn't finish the whole thing and have a few slices for leftovers. Cheese, sauce, and dough tasted fresh. While staying at a hotel in the DFW area I ordered pizza to be delivered from this Grimaldi's. I have had Grimaldi's before and liked them, so when I found out there was one nearby that would deliver to my hotel, I was interested in ordering. I used their online ordering, which was quick and easy. The delivery came about 5 minutes before the original ETA, which was great. The pizza looked decent, but it was cool... Barely warm and definitely not hot. In fact, the mozzarella was stiff, not stringy at all. The toppings were pretty much what I ordered, except I did ask (and paid) for extra sauce and it seemed like I got a normal portion of sauce. The flavor was decent, but since it was cool, I felt like that affected the flavor and overall experience. Overall, it was very disappointing, especially for a $48 pizza! read more

We have been here a few times to post up with a couple of pre-concert beverages but on 5.26.23 we finally came in for pre-concert dinner. This place gets super busy, and was especially busy last night with both a concert and Texas Frightmare going on in the same area. Our server was super apologetic about the wait times, but we didn't really notice. You can get engrossed in some epic people watching. The beer was cold, which was a good plus to start with. The House Salad we split was ALOT of salad, and the vinaigrette was tasty. The salad was well balanced with ingredients, and we had to hold back from scarfing it down since we had pizza on the way. Our pizza was tasty - the crust was perfectly crispy. The sauce was exceptionally clean tasting - if you told me they didn't put any sugar in it at all, I would believe it. Got my pizza fast, which is usually good thing, but drove home to eat cheese as hard as a rock on raw dough. For $25 I expect good pizza. They probably won't read this review or give a sht. They're next to Toyota Music Pavillion, they'll make money. Avoid unless youre at a concert and hammered. Update: After trying to warm it up in the oven to fix it, it tastes worse. Food was good. Ambience was pleasant, not crowded that Wed evening. We were there with our daughter n granddaughter for my birthday. My complaint: I called corporate to report a racially based mishandling of our service and have yet to receive a call back--6 weeks later. The server, appeared to be 5+ years younger than our daughter, addressed her as "girl" two times rather than "ma'am". We asked about help with a match or lighter to light the one small candle on the dessert we planned to order. The answer to the request was "we don't give complimentary birthday desserts." That's an answer to a question never asked. I restated the question and the server stumbled badly stammering a "we don't let customers light anything here". Why wasn't that said on the first asking of the question? Finally, we asked about validating our parking. The hostess paused, then brought the QR for my wife to scan, our daughter had parked where it wasn't needed. After my wife scanned it, the hostess looked at me offering, "Do you need to scan it also?", implying that I was separate from and didn't belong with my wife. She's Black, I'm White. Any one of these three incidents might be brushed off as a simple misstep. All three happening in the span of an hour takes on a different tone, especially the answer to a question never asked. I do like crispy pies but burnt is burnt, Grimaldi's has a tendency to burn the underside of their wares. That aside the ingredients are typically pretty decent; I usually opt for a white pizza with pepperoni and Ricotta. If you like garlic you'll probably also enjoy it. Price wise it's relatively expensive when compared with it's contemporaries. Cane Rosso isn't all that far away distance wise and features better execution for less money, albeit the styles are somewhat different. I will say their crust is right up my alley, being thin without significant flop. Time from order to getting hands on with your pie is also somewhat slow, which is understandable depending on when you visit. Their proximity to the Toyota Music Factory makes things hectic. The inside is rather utilitarian, with nothing particularly quirky about it. I must commend them for using a high quality vendor for parmesan and red pepper flakes, I can be snobbish about both of those. read more

Do NOT go here! The service is absolutely terrible. We were sat on the patio, looked at by one server MULTIPLE times (long, blonde, frizzy hair) for over 15 minutes and not acknowledged in the slightest. In fact, she looked at us and blatantly ignored us! (There was only 1 other party on the patio at this point as well). We asked the host for a server, and still nothing! 5 minutes later, another party was sat on the patio, and immediately were served by that blonde server. When we said something yet again, she had the audacity to say "Im not your server" in the rudest tone ever!! Needless to say we left, and still no one tried to make it right! Grimaldi's is my family and I's favorite pizza place, which says a lot considering we've tried pizza all around the world--even Italy's famous Napoli pizza. All of their pizzas are fresh out of the stone oven, and we always get their Margherita pizza. I swear their tomato sauce cannot be beaten, and the strong basil scent really makes it a go-to. We also tried their new Italian Hero pizza with a pesto base, which was also good in a completely different way. It was slightly salty because of the nature of the ingredients, but there was also a nice kick to it that added to the flavor profile. We normally get their Mediterranean Salad -- super fresh, lots of variety -- but we went for the Apple Walnut Salad instead. The spinach was soft and went well with the sauce, apples, walnuts and blue cheese. The waitress said their Strawberry Basil Lemonade was the most popular mocktail, and I can see why! Another tiktok recommendation! In town for the weekend with the girlies and pizza was on our list to eat. Stumbled on this place per social media and upon arrival we decided to sit in. Ambiance was really nice on a friday and with a concert going next door there was a crowd out. The pizza is customizable and you can even go halfsies. Four of us so we did just that, customizing it to our own personal desires. Honestly was pretty great! We both got 16' pizzas, perfect to split. Charge is per topping which i thought was pretty neat. Went in to check it out. The service was okay. The gentleman behind the bar was nice and brought out my drink quickly. We only ordered a cheesecake and it took a while due to the workers in Kitchen playing around. The gentleman behind the bar had to ask if they received the order and she said give me 2 seconds and it was only me and my husband in the restaurant. He had to leave behind the bar and get the cheesecake we order due to the lack of urgency from the kitchen. Not sure if I will return. I am a fan of Grimaldi's pizza but not a fan of this location. I think it's just the aftermath and results of a low staffing. The bartender who helped was was fine, not issue with service. The time to get my order was long for an online order, an hour. I came to the restaurant to pick up early and the restaurant was not full. I guess busy is busy if you have low staff numbers? I don't know. This is my second visit to this location post pandemic and it was an extra wait on a previous online order as well. Again, I like Grimaldi's pizza. I was disappointed in the sparse green pepper and mushroom. I had to do a double take when I checked the order.
