saw Grillo's Pickles Pop Up on Rivington Street and wanted to see what it's all about. the Pop Up runs through tomorrow (6/20) -- it started in early June. there's a free mechanical pickle ride outside for kids. the interior is adorned with all things Grillo's Pickles from containers of different kinds of pickles in refrigerated units as well as Grillo's Pickles merchandise like T-shirts, slides, and more. snagged a container of mini dill pickles and a Tshirt. the pickled taste is so fresh and very crunchy. the pickles have a nice smooth garlic dill flavor but aren't sour at all. overall, really good quality pickles. i believe the pickles are orderable online and do collabs with different restaurants. the pop-up was super loud as the attempted vibe was to be high energy. not sure it translated. felt like the service was okayish. as i was buying a container of pickles and a T-shirt, the dude at the counter was giving away T-shirts to some other guy who wasn't buying anything and totally interrupting/delaying my purchase...it made me think: why exactly am i buying the tshirt if they are being given away? and why do people who work consumer-facing jobs do such LOW IQ stuff like this? HELLO, don't give away merchandise while someone is buying said merchandise. have you heard of perceived value lol? what are we doing people? whatever. got the T-shirt, anyway. lol. consumerism. there's a day and a half left at this pop-up, so stop here soon and get some pickles. read more
