When you walk in they are playing reggaeton/spanish music which was surprising but I didn't mind at all because I listen to that myself and thought the music was awesome! This place is very small and cozy. I ordered the baby chicken shawarma on a pita with the salad sampler. They give you two plastic containers for the salad bar buffet with your order. The salad sampler was tasty. The shawarma was very filling. Is it the best shawarma I ever had? No, but it was good. If you are in the area and want a quick bite this place will do the trick. As Mark would say, "a curious tasting place". Overall decent food, but can often lead to an upset stomach. They are usually out of at least something that you want, but I don't expect the highest things from them. I'm still not sure why this place is hyped over, I guess the standards are getting lower every day. I mean, the food is definitely good, but by no means is this a 5 star quality place. If I were to recommend something, I can't put my finger on it right now, but there IS something that should be done. Maybe a couple things .. this place has a lot of potential though. So the deal is great food, and lots of it. If you are a regular to this place you know how everything works, how long it will take, etc. The bad news is that if you are a first timer there are no signs telling you how to order or what to expect (and its quite a-typical). Its busy and noisy and echo-y and the staff may appear to not be interested or able to provide much guidance. Also they have tons of plastic forks for the taking, but if you want a knife and spoon and napkins or silverware (if staying), you must request it from the cashier. Maybe they have waiter service, but I can't really tell. Essentially, the food is so good that they have more business than they can handle and frankly don't give a damn if you come in or not, or if you go away happy or not. Its a semi-insider sort of place - if you go in with an open mind and patience and the nerve to ask questions you should do okay. Just understand its set up for their convenience, not yours. Not a big fan of kosher food but there are way better places then this one. I specifically didn't like there turkey shawarma there sandwiches are too greasy. They barely put meat inside the sandwich and I can say 2/3 of the sandwich is filled with salad. The fries are okay but it seems like they constantly re-use the same cooking oil. Excellent restaurant. Great food.. The location concerned me because parking is normally difficult if not impossible in that neighborhood . I've been there twice for lunch & had zero difficulty. I used waitress service once & served myself the other time. With waitress service I received a laffa with tahini & hummus dip, gratis, a plate made of china & a cheery waitress. Self serve gave me a paper plate, neither of the other items & a seat near the counter were orders are placed. I'll go waitress next time. The food is terrific. I had shawarma on a pita with hummus, eggplant, & Israeli salad plus a touch of hot sauce. There was onion & a few other fillings as well. The salad was unlimited & offered beets, cole slaw, hot peppers, pickles, cucumbers, etc. it was constantly being refilled & tended to. The shawarma is served with a side of fries. Had brunch today at this Glatt Kosher spot. The food looked great from outside and the place was situated exactly where we had parked after a morning of shopping. We ordered two turkey & lamb shawarmas and the falafel The service was very slow The food though Fresh was tasteless. I had to keep adding condiments which I hate to do. My pita was cold but I did not complain. My brothers flatbread was freshly baked and still warm but again flat in taste too. I did not even bother to taste the falafel. I came in Sunday March 19 around 6:30-7:00 I wanted to try their kibbeh so I ordered one order I asked how many came in the order the a guy about my age in his 20s said 4 in a order next thing you know I'm charged 130 dollars for one kafta plate and one chicken kabob plate and one order of kibbeh come to find out he charged me for 4 orders of kibbeh instead of one I told him I asked how many came in an order and agreed to 4 in one order not 4 separate orders !!! Unfortunately tonight they had a nasty receptionist that was rude and while I called in an order a half hour before on the phone several people walked in before me as I got there a half hour after I called and she kept telling me it will be ready, it's almost ready.... it's been past a half hour and you only proceeded to make the order after all the walkins that came in a half hour after I called? Like many, I rely on Yelp reviews to eat at some new places. Yelp.. You failed me this time.. I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but this was just disappointing and just think you should all be informed. Maybe I just had a bad experience; but I'll try to be as honest as possible. To begin, the food was very expensive, the chicken shawarma was a little over $11. But the place was pretty crowded, and hey; the reviews were great; so the food must be worth it right ? WRONG. The chicken was not cooked enough, my friend couldn't eat his because he thought it was raw. The hummus was not bad actually. But again; that chicken.. It's sad that they put a lot, and usually that's a good thing, but in this case I had to eat a lot of something I didn't like. The fries that come with it caught my eyes, they looked good but the looks deceived me. They were soggy, not cooked enough, and just hard to enjoy. Grill Point is like a cross between a fast food cafeteria and an Israeli cafe. Some of the most authentic falafel and shawarma in NYC. Reasonably priced, centrally located in Queens. I get the shawarma sandwich wrapped in laffa bread. Also you get free salad bar with your sandwich. At the salad bar you are not going to find the usual suspects. It is Israeli salad and not Americanized. I have had Monmoun's, Raffiqi, King of falafel and Shawarma in Astoria, and a couple of other places and this place is pretty good too. The shawarma is an Israeli version and not just Middle Eastern according to my good friend who is a Saphardic Jew. So the spices are different than you might get at another Middle Eastern place. I usually do not get into terminology like saying this is the best because best is subjective. According to my Saphardic friend this is her version of the best. But that is for reasons other than taste. That is for reasons of tradition. But just so you know it has an authentic taste to those from Israel. And the price is agreeable too. read more

I had a delicious meal here for lunch on Sunday. FYI: You order at the cashier first and then hand the recipt to the dudes at the front, i did not know this and stood there like a fool for a while until the guy told me to go order at the cashier. We got the baby chicken schwarma on Pita with everything in it and it was 5 stars worthy good. There is a hint of curry somewhere in that mix and it makes it that much more tasty. Ive tried it on lafa but i think i prefer the pita. +1 to the random asian lady giving out tips on what kind of salad to get. Even after driving home in 20 min, the pita was still warm and the bread had not sogged out, YES win. I had come here with some friends for dinner before and it is true that the dining space inside is quite sparse. This place is absolutely amazing. Last time I flew into NYC, I asked the lady who was my ground transportation from the airport, if she could recommend good middle eastern food. I had told her that I heard of Mahmoun's, but it was raining and I didn't want to walk the 2 miles in the rain, so asked if she could recommend something in the Financial District. She took me by this place, Grill Point, on the way into the city and I got a chicken shawarma in a lafa, to go, ate it in the car....oh. my. god. It was absolutely amazing. It's a kosher place, and the menu is written in Hebrew, with english on the side. Very authentic. I get shawarma's all the time in L.A. at my FAVORITE little place (ahem PITA KITCHEN ahem), and this Grill Point in Queens was such a treat. The only difference from my usually shawarma wrap was that Grill Point puts french fries in their wraps. A little weird, if I can be honest, but they know what they're doing because it was great. On the way back to the airport after my trip to NYC, the same woman was my transportation back to JFK Airport, and she took me by Grill Point again, and I bought an extra one to take on the plane with me, and gave it to my boyfriend when I got home. Came back to Grill Point after a year with an unstoppable craving for shawarma. I forgot what was better by this point, the baby chicken or lamb. Lamb. I copped out on a chicken shawarmizzle and my girlfriend got a lamb. After chowing down our food and trying each others, I came to the conclusion that the lamb is the way to go. The fries and salad on the side are great add ons, although I didn't have room to finish everything. It was amazing and it comes with side fries and unlimited amount of veggies! The french fries are thick cut and are crispy~ the shawrma is warm and they even ask you if you want hummus veggies and hot sauce. The veggie section are usually some hot pepper pickles, purple coleslaw (purple cabbage?), regular coleslaw and some more veggies. Lol, i'm not too familiar with their names, just trust me and try a bit of each! The onlllllyyy bad thing about this is that, if you're not sitting in the formal dining area, the casual sitting place is very small. As in, the tables are kind of close together but if you want to sit, youll just have to politely ask the people near to give you more room. I like this place, I always go back with my friend! This place used to be at least 4 stars but has gone downhill. First off, I pass by the place everyday, and since the city started grading health conditions, I have never seen it have an "A" rating. Scary! The sandwiches have gone downhill too. Also the employees are so snobby and full of themselves. They made me feel like a bad Jew just because I don't wear a yamakah. Well, after shopping at Amazing Savings we decided to try Grill Point as we love Middle Eastern fare. We sat at the tables and ordered hummus and a falafel sandwich on pita. Our lunch also included choices from the salad bar. The homemade creamy hummus was beautifully presented and drizzled with tahini. It was accompanied by a freshly baked pita just out of the oven. The green on the inside falafel balls were crunchy and not greasy at all. The fries were also tasty. Although the food was spectacular what we enjoyed most was our friendly waitress and patrons and their many beautiful children. We were made to feel as if we were regulars. I'm taking away 2 stars for your falafel repeatedly cutting up my entire mouth. The baby chicken shawarma and falafel both taste amazing but the falafel balls are so deep fried that they have a hard crust that slices up my mouth. I tell the guy to mash them a bit when he puts them in the pita, he says he will but doesn't. The salads and hummous are really good and I think they have the best pickles here. A falafel should be well composed...meaning not everything on top and then the balls on bottom...so that's a negative. You need to be very aggressive when you order otherwise they'll skip you to whomever is yelling in Hebrew. I ended up paying almost $17 for a sandwich and a Snapple. The sandwich bread was overloaded with oil. Not only was the chicken used for the sandwich scarce, but it was under-cooked and GROSS. I had the falafel and hummus. It was good but not great. You needed to ask for Israeli pita otherwise you would be served this other bread that was extremely disappointing. The couscous is definitely a great dish. I would recommend that and wish I got that instead of the falafel since I conclude that The Hummus Place has better hummus and falafel. When I called to check the people answering the phone hung up on me several times and one time were extremely rude . It has an extremely classist atmosphere where if you do not chose waiter service, you sit in an extremely crowded area where people are falling all over you. This used to be the best schwarma in NYC, but in the past couple of years the quality has declined to just pretty good. They're often out of lamb schwarma, and chicken or turkey just doesn't have the same intense flavor. The laffas are also hit or miss sometimes. That said, the falafel is always great, and surprisingly cheap - less than $6 gets you a packed-to-the-brim falafel plus a salad bar. They put fries (chips) in the falafel and schwarma too, just like in Israel. Their tehina sauce is delicious as well, and distinctly improves the flavor of both meat and bread. A laffa of schwarma will absolutely stuff all but the heaviest eaters, and can be split to feed two very reasonably. The service can be hit or miss - if you're ordering to go, you have to first go to the counter to pay, and then show your receipt to the sandwich makers by the food, who will make it to order for you. They're friendly but typically sabra-like Israelis. Be care when ordering harif - the spicy stuff - because a careless server may slop on a lot more than you can handle. Open til 1am most nights - bonus points. Not open Friday nights/Shabbos though, for non-Jewish fans. Definitely worth checking out for any Israeli schwarma lovers. Also worth comparing to Pita Hot down the block, but if nothing else Grill Point offers fatter, thicker, and more stuffed schwarmas. read more
