San Marcos location has the absolute worst customer service!! They do crappy work!! I originally brought my car to them in Oct. 2018, while under warranty from where i bought my car, to have a tail light, runner light and keyless entry panel replaced. They took off my front bumper to replace the light, which there was no reason for that, as stated by Glenn and Carlos. They broke the clips/tabs on my front bumper on the side the light was replaced. I called as soon as i noticed, about a month later, and Dan stated there was nothing they could do about it. Now Dan is no longer there and spoke with Carlos the manager of service and he says the same thing even though there is a 2 year warranty on everything they do. Well i noticed recently that the keyless panel was lose and crooked so i called. They have now had my car back 4 times in 3 weeks for the same issue of the panel. Yesterday driving down IH35 the top of the panel was flopping around so i got off the hwy and headed a mile down to Ford. While driving the entire piece flew off and was hanging on just by the wires. In this whole process they managed to stretch the seals on my window. I wouldnt have even been bothered about the seals so much had the panel been correct, solely because i am tired of dealing with these people in service. The first time i took it in since 2018 Glenn talked to me like i didnt know what i was talking about. The bumper clips (which is what i called them, he says no they're tabs) were not broken until i brought it to Ford and caused other damage to the bumper because it is crooked to make up for the clips they broke. They have said they wont fix it because now it is in worse shape than it was when i called the 1st time in 2018. Nothing is they're fault according to the service department, including the manager Carlos. Just some piss poor service that i would not recommend dealing with.. EVER!! read more

The service at Griffith Ford in Seguin Texas is the worst I have experienced in a long time. Every time I bring my car there it is an all day adventure and then co.e to find out they have done absolutely nothing to my car. They were supposed to change my oil and fix my headlights. I got there at 9am and by 3pm I was so mad because they tried to tell me it was going to cost almost a thousand dollars to change my spark plugs! Yes I git very very mad and let everyone know it. I also have a warranty on my car. This is the store in Seguin Texas. They also told me another time that I had a transmission leak so I brought it back to have it fixed they said there was no leak. What kind of people work there? read more

Great overall service. This would be my third time visiting and every time I have been greeted by a smiling face. Other places seem intimidating but not here. I purchased my car in December and the process was painless and quick. I wasn't even planning on getting in debt with another car but seeing how a VW beetle wouldn't suffice a growing family I started my hunt online. I inquired through their website to out to ask about a certain vehicle with mileage so low and too good to be true for its age and at a doable price, I just had to ask if it was a typo... Right away they called me and to my pleasant surprise it wasn't! Yay! They answered all my questions and so I came in to test drive the next day. From the sales floor to the service crew, they have all been very helpful. Thanks guys! read more

Will take an easy deal and still take advantage of you. Husband was there to look at one vehicle and one vehicle only. Had his own financing. And they still totally lowballed him on his trade. When we questioned the price they were selling for they LIED about the price and said it was a computer glitch. Total scammers. I wouldn't send my enemy to this place. We should have looked at the reviews before we went there, it is apparent they are one of the worst dealerships around. Hope you feel good about yourselves taking advantage of people. Sad that people would rather build a reputation on lies than just be honest and upfront. Eventually the word will get out enough and these people will either have to start running an honest and trustworthy business or this place will get shut down. I'm hoping for the shut down part. Seriously sad that you have to take advantage of people. read more

Can I give a 0?? Had our car towed here when power steering went out while we were in Ke--our home is SA. NO ONE smiled! We had to be picked up by sin and taken back to SA, because they couldn't be bothered to even take a look before we left. When we decided not to fix and not to buy a new one from them, they refused to release car to McCombs after we traded it for a new one. We must pay diagnostic fee first. I understand that, but consideration their rudeness and unprofessionalism, I'd to refuse! Run, don't walk, away from this place! read more

Horrible customer service. A major safety feature on my car failed within a month of purchasing and Griffith will not answer my calls, hangs up on calls that do go through, and is overall terrible to work with. No communication, no customer satisfaction, no way I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

I just left Griffith Ford San Marcos and I have to say the service was exemplary. I actually stopped by the car dealership due to an unexpected tire blowout on my car. The service manager and one of the mechanics assisted me right away despite my car not being a Ford or purchased from the dealership. They went above and beyond servicing my car and displaying a phenomenal example of customer service. I live out of the country but if I did live in San Marcos I would most definitely buy a car from this dealership simply because of the wonderful treatment and service I received from the service manager and mechanic. read more

Now I understand the frustration with the service dept. I completely agree with most of the reviews here. For me, I was looking for a new car, and was looking around. Monday 02/25 I get a call from BO ~ and he answered all my questions. He sent me an email regarding 2 cars...not what I was looking for but hey, I liked them...so I told him to try and get one from another dealership. Made the appt. for Saturday and that he'll try and get it here by Saturday. Went down, he was off...and the car no where to be seen. Daniel came out and helped me....he was very helpful and at the end of the day ~ I'm in a vehicle that I love and in reality wanted. I thank Daniel for his help and for listening to me and answering all my questions. Will I take my new vehicle down for service....only for warranty work...the mundane maintenance like oil changes and the like, will be done someplace else. I'm very pleased with my experience and with my vehicle. read more

Vent time: Car dealerships have a deserved reputation. Griffith Ford in San Marcos, TX, way to go to not changing the public opinion of "Customer No Service"! It amazes me how no thought is given to the money lost, not just right now, but into the future, by treating customers like they are a bother. Adios, Griffith Ford. Terrible. read more

I wouldn't give this dealership any stars if it was an option. In May I went with my son to buy his first brand new car...of course the car buying experience was wonderful they even went and picked up the car that he wanted from another location. Fast forward a week or so later and called because my son noticed a couple of defects on his Brand New Mustang and they told him that there is nothing that that they can do. Again, this is his first new car he is young and didn't know he could be a little pushier with them and finally tells me about it. So I call and talk to them and explain that the front fender is rubbing on the passenger side door and making the paint chip off not to mention that BOTH the drivers side tires blew out on him after having it for less than a month!! The sales manager Steve tells me he should've noticed this during his test drive. He didn't get to test drive because they had to pick up the car in Uvalde and called him when it was ready to be picked up. Of course the tires aren't covered under the factory warranty and even though they told us that it was covered under the extended warranty that was purchased it wasn't so he had to come out of pocket for the tires. I then talked to the service manager and he asked for my son to bring his car in again only to be told that yes there is a misalignment and that the fender doesn't rub when the hood is open (like he can drive like that) and asked if he had made any modifications to the car. Ummm...no and you're in the service department can't you tell there are no modifications?! They sent him on his way again and said that they would have to talk with the manager because of course he wasn't there. Well folks this was in June and lets fast forward to now and his car still isn't fixed. I called the service manager again and he is blaming it on Ford not getting back to him of course but they want to now go ahead and schedule for him to drop it off to have it fixed. They want to keep his car for at least 3 days...ok so he has to work are you putting him in a loaner? The answer of course is that they don't have one. They have been less than helpful! They are rude and unless you are calling them and hounding them about things then nothing seems to get done. The sales manager said he couldn't help, the finance manager also said he couldn't help and that he isn't responsible for selling us the warranty that covers the tires, the service manager says he's going to call and doesn't. I will never do business with them again and will tell people to stay away from them! read more

This review is for sales associate named Valé not for the whole dealership. We were working with a salesman at a different Griffith Ford location to see a vehicle at Griffith Ford San Marcos. Valé seemed nice to start with but quickly began to badmouth the other location and tried to snake the deal. When it was specifically expressed that we were already working with someone else he didn't care and when we got frustrated and angry he walked away laughing and making faces. We drove an hour to see the vehicle and after speaking to a manager we still did the test drive but will not purchase. I don't know much about the rest of the dealership but DON'T WORK WITH Valé. Not professional at all. read more

We purchased a 2016 Fusion for my Granddaughter On 9/5/2019. It took 3 1/2 hours to complete a cash transaction which is nuts. A recall had to be done so the salesman delivered the car to our home the next day. We were not told the car had only one key which cost over $250. we would not have purchased it if they had disclosed this. The salesman said he would send me all the paperwork the next day which we believed. It never happened and we are unable to register the car or get her Texas D.L. without the paper work. I called the GM Steve Loya but his mailbox was full and could not leave a message. I should have checked this dealers reviews beforehand. It is dealers like this that give the auto industry such a bad reputation. Recalls have to be completed before cars are resold and as a former GM Area Sales Mgr. Dealer GM this dog would not hunt in my area. Perhaps a 2 star rating is too generous here ? read more

I made a deal on Friday to purchase a used truck. As I was driving 4 hours to pick it up my salesman called me and told me they just sold it. Don't buy anything from this dealership, they tell you one thing and do another. It's the old bait and switch trick. read more

In my opinion these guys are CROOKS. They got a 2018 Ford Expedition Plat. from Leif Johnson in Austin. Leif had previously sold the car to a Buda man, licensed it with a TX plate and for unknown reasons they took it back. When the facts came out (Car Fax) it seems that along the way the instrument cluster had been "repaired or replaced". This is where the mileage data is displayed. GRIFFITH THEN SOLD THIS USED CAR TO ME AS A NEW CAR. Again, busted by Car Fax. Attorneys were hired and they finally replaced the USED car with a real NEW car. They agreed to pay my attorney bills then never quite got around to paying up as agreed. I would never deal with these guys nor trust anything they say. My advice-- STAY AWAY read more

Very welcoming atmosphere...the sales staff is very helpful transparent process ..I like the fact they have non commission sales reps

I walked into this dealership two weeks ago in tears after being treated like crap at Maxwell Ford in Austin. I am new to the area and had no clue where to go but knew that I had a noise that was worsening. I walked into Maxwell and was not acknowledged, and was treated like a number, I said no thank you and walked out. I drove from Austin to San Marcos, walked in and Todd was wonderful. I took my car in early, left it and days later it was done and I walked out a happy customer. I cannot recommend this dealership enough, they treated me like a person that mattered and not a number with dollar signs written on me. read more

NEVER EVER GO HERE. This place is horrible. I have a 17 f250. I went in because my truck is shaking out of control and my motor is ticking. He checked the oil level and said well I can look at it in about a month. Same with the truck shaking. Didn't offer me another vehicle while they had mine or anything. Just said sorry put his hands up an walked away. I'll never go here again read more

Absolutely the worst dealership service department I have ever dealt with. My truck broke down Wednesday morning and was towed to their dealership. I called to let them know, they said they would be able to look at it Wednesday evening or at the lasted, the next morning maybe early afternoon. I called Thursday at 1pm and my truck had still not been seen. So here it is Saturday, three and a half days later and my truck has still not been diagnosed. I called again and was told that it would now be Tuesday before they could even look at it. I will never take a vehicle back to them or recommend people to go there. Terrible service! If 0 Stars was a thing, I would put 0. read more

We ordered a part for my car and had paid extra for it to be overnighted since it wasn't in stock. When we got the part it wasn't the right one. There was actually two different parts for that vehicle. He didn't bother asking me which one I needed. I didn't know that there was two different ones since I don't work as a part department employee! We found out that I didn't need that particular part that it was actually a different part. When I went to return it he wouldn't take it back and said it was installed. It was never installed I was standing right there when they changed the other part and didn't even use this part. I told him look at it. It is like brand new what are you talking about? He said "I can just tell you can't since you don't deal with parts". Then he just sat there and ignored me playing on his computer. He just didn't want to take it back. This is the Spanish guy that is always in that department. This is the worst customer service that I have had at this dealership. He needs to go back to the training dept. We spend a lot of money at this location and we have bought vehicles here also. This is how they treat their good customers I would hate to see how they treat their bad ones! read more

Please be aware if you are trading in a vehicle that your payoff balance might not get paid on time and result in a severe ding to your credit. This happened to me. The sales manager says they have a disclaimer in the contract. My credit was damaged by 67 points and they will only offer a letter. In my opinion they should contact the loan vendor and get them to detract the Late payment info at least. I will have to spend hours upon days sending dispute letters to see if I get it reversed. I spent years getting my credit rating to top tier and someone else's late pay habits can ruin it for you. My car experience with the salesman was very good.....but the inside office actions cost me my credit. read more

I had to get a car I was not confortable in because the seats and car are too low and I have trouble getting out if the car and Africa ting my back and much more pain and strain. I went to Griffith Ford before they moved locations. I had my 2005 Ford Escape to possibility trade in. I had seen the Veloster car I thought it was nice but I had not expected to buy it. That was the only vehicle I saw and was not able to see others. I test drove the car for less than 24 hours and had to return the Veloster because it hurt my back I had been operated on. I went in to the dealer and let the general manager and floor manager know what was wrong and they did nothing to help my conic back pain and And my fibromayalgia ( all is documented with several of my doctors). My father had made a deal with volkwagon to try to get me in a conformable car. I let the dealers know I had sugery and cronic back pain but no one listened. I had gotten so upset with the dealers that I started walking home without my trade-in or the Veloster. I was so upset that I went walk gi near Johnny Carinos . I was so upset that I started to have chest pains and immediately called the ambulance because I could not breath and th chest pains set in harder. The fire fighters came first and then the ambulance came. I had a cronic panic attack. I did not let the ambiance take take me to the hospital. I composed myself as much as I could. I walked back and asked them a second time. They made excuses and did nothing to remedy my situation and I had to take the Veloster by force. I never had a bad experience before when the dealership was part of Red Simon. They cared about their customers and wanted for their customers to feel like family. Now that it is Griffith Ford, the dealership has no heart. The Veloster has electronic problems. The stereo doesn't work, the engine rebs high when going slow, and on at trip recently the cruse light would not turn off and kept the car on cruise control. This vehicle is a Limon and has defects. Before selling a used car all the vehicle functions should be checked and I feel they overlooked everthing and sold it to me because they could not move the car within 3 months. I was the sucker!!!! On July 18 2018 I traded in a 2015 ford fusion for a new 2018 fusion. LET ME EXPLAIN THE KIND OF SERVICE YOU CAN EXPECT FROM GRIFFITH FORD. When I took the car into trade they where able to get me out of a lone that was upside down by $6000.00 and get me into a new car at 4.4% APR ( WHICH IS ALMOST UNHEARD OF IN TEXAS ). After a few days I got a call from Frank the loan officer, telling me there was a problem at the bank they needed some income info. This is a problem cause I work out of state. they where able to send me the papers with a postage paid envelope and have everything fixed in a few days without losing my great interest rate. then I didn't know I needed to cancel my auto pay for the old car ( thought it was done automatic ) this morning when I got back into the state I found that I had been paying two car notes cause the bank I financed through didn't take care of things. I WAS IN A PANIC !!!!!! I got to the dealership and they not only paid the old car off on the spot but they also paid the interest on the 3 payments that had been taken out of my account. this is important. I HAVE SOLD CARS FOR YEARS AND I CAN TELL YOU NOBODY DOES THAT. IT IS UNHEARD OF FOR A DEALERSHIP TO PAY THE INTEREST PAYMENTS. THIS IS THE KIND OF SERVICE YOU GET FROM A COMPANY THAT CARES MORE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS THAN FOR THE BOTTOM DOLLAR. AND THAT IS WHY THEY ARE SO BIG AND TRUSTED. They know that the return client is the life blood of the industry, and that is why they now have a customer for life. I no longer need to hunt for the good deal, I have already found it in the caring service of Griffith Ford. read more

I worked with Adam, who I thought was a real, understanding, honest and down to earth person to work with. But the dealership told me one price on a car that they had to bring in from another lot. It took me showing up and calling for one week to finally get the car there. When I said I would take the car based on our prior price agreement they denied the prior price agreement and raised the price around $1000.00 dollars. Adam's manager made no sense verbally- I can't believe this person has any serious responsibility at this dealership let alone negotiating car prices. I felt like he was talking with me as if I was completely stupid. I felt like I was talking to a stonewalling teenager. REALLY!!!!!! This was so insulting!!!!! They took their sales techniques/scams/schemes to a questionably disturbing level of dishonesty. Wasting my time for a whole week and lying on price agreements is not okay. So manipulative. read more

The are very welcoming until they make the sell.... I walked out with a car... a few days later I had to go back again because apparently the lien holder didn't approve me. Helpful only to their benefit and from there they didn't bother to help. Go to another Ford. read more

Worst service/parts department I've ever dealt with in my life. Had a takata air bag recall that needed to be replaced so that it wouldn't potentially shoot shrapnel at passenger(s). I have kids and myself to worry about so you know pretty important to have that issues fixed ASAP. Called Griffith with Ford headquarters service on the phone. Was told by Glen they didn't have the part and needed to order it and would call me back when it came in. Ok no problem. 3.5 weeks later no follow-up so I call Griffith. After 3 times of being bounced around and hung up on. I finally reached Daniel who was nice and said that they had no record of my request for a replacement part and didn't have a way to track what orders have been placed for customers. Seems like BS but he tells me that the part has been ordered and would be there in two business days. This was a Friday so I expected a call on Monday/Tuesday. 1.5 weeks later still no call when Ford headquarters contacts me for a follow up. They ask if I want to help reaching out to Griffith to find out the status. At this point I tell them I no longer trust this location and want to be patched through to another location. Worth noting the second dealership received the call and replaced my part with zero issues and had great customer service with 4 days. I would recommend any other Ford dealership besides this place. Want to talk about a dealership looking to take advantage of its customers. Well then this is the place. They will do everything in their power to get you to impulse buy while ensuring they rip you off in the process. This dealership took me for about 6k and still wont do anything to fix the situation. I'm doing everything in my power to ensure people are educated on how horrible this dealership is. What's funny is the number of reviews that talk about the same issues. This was a pathetic customer service I've received in a long time. Bringing me in, they texted me every second I wasn't in the dealership- then I feel for buying a truck. Once I bought it, they told me the truck had 2 keys but in reality it only had 1 after I signed and that one didn't even function correctly. I made them make me a second one. The second one broke within a couple of weeks. It wasn't even an original key and you could tell it was of lower quality. With that being said, I contacted the sales person and they didn't answer for a week! Then promise me to check the following week. Texted him twice and no response. This was after he promised me a replacement from the cheap key they originally made me. Essentially they sold me a truck with no functional key. Once the truck sold, they didn't care about answering my calls or text and failed to keep their promise in replacing the key. At least communicate correctly and don't promise me a key you aren't going to give me. Pathetic customer service read more
