BE WARNED. We purchased a vehicle from this company almost three years ago, and within just three months, the transmission failed. It took about a week and a half to repair, and while we did get the car back, it has been one issue after another ever since. I understand the vehicle had over 150,000 miles, so some repairs are expected. However, the transmission has now failed again, and the situation has only gotten worse. The finance company they work with refuses to refinance or offer any reasonable solution. Instead, they are pushing us to either surrender the vehicle or take on another $20,000 loan with even higher payments. They are unwilling to work with us in any way, including adding repairs to our existing payment plan. What makes this even more concerning is that my sister had a very similar experience after purchasing from the same company--constant issues that never seemed to be properly resolved. If you're in a desperate situation with poor credit, this might feel like an option. But if you're looking for a reliable vehicle and a company that stands behind what they sell, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere read more

They sent me a website with their inventory, but none of the prices were listed. "How well Texas Auto Center takes care of you." We are soon to have our second vehicle paid off with this company and it will be our last. We have never been late with a payment on either vehicle however we have observed things about the way the company treats its customers. After having our second Kia brought into the San Marcos dealership for power related issues we were told it had to be taken to Austin for further diagnostics and repair. We got the vehicle back three weeks later... at that point we were just thankful to have transportation again. We did however observe that while at their repair location in Austin the vehicle was vandalized. -Items stolen from the interior. Which we will admit is our fault, they do say they aren't responsible for anything left inside. -The front license plate stolen -The interior speakers blown out, they raddle and buzz now which they never did before so it sounds like someone had themselves a little joy ride or party with our car at some point. This is not how you treat people who have made all their payments on two vehicles. You hire inept criminals to do your repairs its no wonder you have a horrible rating on this and other websites. This company is Sorry. -- Update: Not two months later the same issue is happening again. We brought the vehicle back in at our own expense a day ago, It was tested for a day and were promptly told by Danny in the finance department that we would be responsible for paying the $166 for a new battery and furthermore that he was doing us a favor, that we are lucky... Danny had nothing to say in regards to us having previously brought it in, paid to have it fixed, being told that no problem could be located and it was given back to us. And then gave what he thought was an analogy about buying groceries from HEB and how its not okay to take the groceries without paying for them. The fact that this place has only negative things said about it shows a lot. My boyfriend got a car from them a few months ago and it's now been in the shop for almost 2 months with no communication on what's wrong with it, playing phone tag back and forth while still having to pay for the car. We took my husbands truck in Wednesday 4/22 because he needed the breaks replaced because they were grinding . Mind you he has had this car since Feb 2020 and already breaks were bad ! Here we are today 4/27 and they call to say it's ready to go. He gets in his truck and drives it and hears his brakes are still grinding! I would never recommend anyone get a car from here. I paid my CPI for a year 140 a month for insurance on the car. They have had my car for 7 weeks now and all I get is the run around from them. Even the general manager (man with accent) said he would call me personally and never did. I'm not even sure how or even if I will get my durango back. The lady at the service desk is always extremely rude and lazy she will not get any answers for you. Sat down and told him I had a few I was interested in and he immediately asked what my budget and went into a spiel about their financing options. I am completely upset with the service at the San Marcos Location of Texas Auto Center. They recently moved into a bigger and better place but unfortunately don't seem able to keep up with the higher volume. Their customer service has definitely dropped, as management seems nonchalant about customer needs or concerns. I had purchased a car with them about a year and half ago, the starter went out and after being stranded out of town late after work, I was towed to a repair shop only to find out the starter had been rigged before and had caused the battery to erupt. I notified the dealership and in return they offered to take the car back and sell me another, down payment and all. Happy to just have a quick turn around, I was glad to be seemingly taken care of. The salesman was courteous. The new down payment with higher payments and insurance were just a bullet I had to bite. Before letting me drive off with the car they did a once over only to find out there was an oil leak. Glad to have it taken care of I was a happy camper until I noticed... An oil leak. I took it back a week later on a Saturday as to not interfere with work. They grudgingly accommodated me. Only to send me off to notice over the next few days the continuous oil leak. In between service visits the lack of oil burned up my gas, I become good friends with AutoZone as they helped me put more oil to get me thru to the next day. It was costly for a single hardworking mother. During the holidays this is definitely the last thing I wanted to deal with but I understand when a company goes thru a growth without the proper amount of staff, in this case mechanics. I missed two days of work, an 8hr shift and 12hr shift. I am the sole provider for my son and me, which is a big deal, as many can relate we don't work for fun- we have bills to pay; rent utilities, daycare, health insurance, car payments, and car insurance and so on! I have 3 other family members with a car from this place, both my sisters ended up with a car other than the one they originally picked out because they broke down! One of the Sales/Supervisors called me a few hours after I dropped off the car the third time, asking if I was interested in purchasing a car! When I reminded him that I already had one he quickly cut me off with a "sorry" and hung up while trying to tell him my sister in law and friend were interested in buying a car!! I tried to sit and express my concerns with the team there and they kept sending me to someone else while management made it out as though they were doing me a favor in accommodating me. They were belittling me as a customer, mind you I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE PLATES ON THE CAR YET. Meaning within a few weeks I took the car in for a total of 4 days, 3 different times to fix the same one problem. Loosing valuable time and money. They sent me out the door without trying to express any remorse. If it wasn't for the EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE provided by one receptionist Melinda, I most likely would have had a nervous breakdown right then and there. In all of this I am reminded God is my source, and work, my car etcetera is a resource. This experience has been a huge disappointment. read more

I purchased my 2005 Nissan Maxima in December of 2013 and I have been having issues with it ever since. The second day I got my vehicle I noticed a rattle under the hood along with my car occasionally not starting. When I took it in for repairs, the issues were dismissed by the mechanic. He told all Nissan's made that sound. When I left I let them know the issues still remained after assuring me they were fixed. At this point I got the general manager involved who is Everett and he assured me the next visit he would make sure his mechanics addressed and fix the issues. I told him I needed the issues fixed and I couldn't keep driving back and forth because of the distance of where I live in Cedar Park Tx. He told me to give his guys a chance and I did. After sitting for 6 hours to get my car repaired, once again I noticed the issues still remained upon my arrival home. My car then started to make a grinding noise under the hood and my whole engine started to shake. I took it in again to let the manager see what it was doing but time I drove all that way, the grinding stopped and they did not see what it was doing and would not take my word for it. So he told me to bring it in again and drop it off for a few days so they could have some time to find out what the issue is. So before I took it in I recorded a video on my phone of the grinding noise to show the manager. The last day I brought it in I was told 45 minutes later that it was my engine needing to be replaced all this time. I have been wasting all this time from work and sitting there for hours any other day only for it to have actually only taken 45 minutes to diagnose the issue which leads me to believe I have been given the run all this time.The manager did nothing to accommodate my needs, in fact he made it all seem as if it were my fault. All they have done was inconvenience me and have me make several trips there to fix the same issue at my expense. I know several people who have had the same issues and were accommodated by being placed in another vehicle, but not myself. The manager was very rude even I have been nothing but patient with him and his staff. He told my only options were to either put another down payment on a different vehicle or pay the $200 deductible for the same issue that his mechanics never fixed the entire 4 months I've owned the vehicle.I then told him he could keep his car, I don't want it!
