The chef put blueberries, blueberry compote and blueberries on top, "blue jay" style. They were fluffy with a kind of pleasant nutty taste, like ground flaxseed. They came with warm maple syrup. So good!! It wasn't served with butter but the salted whipped butter improved the already great taste for me. Plus scrambled (real) eggs and bacon and freshly squeezed OJ. Wonderful breakfast spot with great food and so many pancake options. The portions are huge so I shared a chicken, bacon, avocado griddle with my partner and we both felt like it was the perfect portions for us. We went at 10:30 on a Sunday and were seated immediately. I have been to other Griddlecakes locations before but the staff here at this location are superior! I do not live close to this location. I just happened to be in the area today and my husband and I decided to have some breakfast. They have multiple flavors and styles and the pancakes themselves are enormous. They have the standard eggs and French toast and such for those who don't care for pancakes. I love biscuits and gravy, and that might be the only minus. The biscuits and gravy did not taste like they were homemade, and there are many other places nearby that have excellent homemade offerings. After looking over the menu, I ordered the Meat Lovers Scramble, listed under their menu section as a house special. It consists of bacon, sausage, and ham scrambled with eggs over home fries, and topped with shredded cheese. It's also served with two biscuits and gravy. The breakfast was very good! Pieces of sausage and bacon were plentiful. The ham tended to get lost a bit, but that was OK. The scramble was very different for me as I tend toward Bennys or omelettes. We came in for my son's 10th birthday. After our orders were taken, it took 12 minutes to get our drinks and another 43 minutes for our food. We never got refills of our drinks and resorted to all sharing my daughter's chocolate milk just to get our food down. All of the food was cold, the bacon was undercooked, and my husbands chicken friend steak was burnt. We kept trying to flag down a server but they were running around and not paying attention to customers. We were seated at the high top next to the front door and right behind us, were people sitting at our butt level waiting to get seated which made the ambiance very uncomfortable. They're mostly content yeah they served you something to drink right away and gave you enough time to look over the menu.
