I have been having trouble with my car changing gears and acceleration when I hit the gas. I took it to Gresham Ford. They charge $100 for diagnosing the problem. They said it didn't happen when the mechanic drove it, so they couldn't diagnose. Now I owe em $100 and I still don't know what is wrong with my car. Customer service was crap too while I was in there. Save yourself the trouble, go somewhere else. Update: I went and got my car. I was prepared to change my rating if they waived the $100. They did waive it, but the customer service was worse than when I dropped the car off. After explaining the medical issue I had I was told I couldn't get a ride to my house because it was outside the 5 mile limit. On the way back, instead of walking with my medical problems I called when I made it to Gresham to see if they'd get me there. I was told the guy would get me after they dropped off another customer. No problem if they only have a 5 mile radius that should be quick. I waited 40 min for the courtesy driver to get me from where I got off the bus. The driver told me he was sorry but he was dropping someone off 2 miles further than my house. The "service" lady basically told me my business was not important enough to get a ride. They knew about my review and didn't do anything to try to change my experience. That's really bad business, I have better luck with the jiffy lube mechanics. read more

Read this if you care about the safety of you and your family. I have a 2005 Ford Focus and have been having problems with the idler pulley bolt snapping. This has happened to me four times already during the past two years. The first time it happened, I was driving home from work at night and I heard a loud bang and lost complete control of my car resulting in me almost running off of the road. After having it replaced, it happened again less than a year later. We took it to our local Ford dealer and addressed the issue to Ryan Johnson who claimed he had never heard of that happening before. When we told him we did some research on the internet and saw that this was happening to lots of people, he dismissed our research by saying that was just the internet and anybody could say anything. They replaced the bolt and within that year, it snapped again. We went back in to get it fixed again by them and they still claimed they had never heard of that happening. We told them again that if they do a search on the internet of Ford idler pulley bolt breaking, they would see numerous reports of this serious safety issue. As this had been an ongoing problem for me(along with others on the internet) I reached out to Bess (the Owner of Gresham Ford) as I didn't feel like this problem was being taken seriously. Bess responded back saying they were having difficulty identifying the problem and that also the internet has "completely contradictory opinions about most auto related items" For someone to say that these bolts breaking is an 'opinion' is not a reassuring response. An opinion to me would be saying "This car is good but it's not as good as others. When a bolt is repeatably breaking and putting people lives in danger, that is not an opinion but seems to be a major problem and one that Ford refuses to accept and take responsibility for. With that said, I had my bolt break on me a couple of days again and when I called Ford to have them fix it a third time, they said they would be charging us to get it replaced again. This is a very frustrating response because it is something that should not be continuously breaking and having to pay for it each and every time. My dad was talking with Ryan Johnson of Gresham Ford on the phone. My Dad asked him what it would take to get this problem addressed and he said there wasn't much that could be done other than to get it fixed. During this time, I was driving my car to Ford as it was just down the street and the bolt was still enough intact to where I could drive it a short distance. When I arrived at Ford, my dad pulled in a minute later and told me that they didn't want to work on my car because my dad had mentioned the word 'attorney' over the phone. I had my car in the lot so I went in as I was told to bring it down before my dad got on the phone with them when I left his house. The guy behind the counter asked my name and I told him and he told me very rudely to 'Get out'. I asked why and he me I was told not to bring my car in. I told him I wasn't told that and that is what they had told my dad but I was already on my way down when that conversation between them took place. Ryan Johnson came out and told me to "Leave now". My dad walked in during this time and they told him to leave too, saying they were not going to work on my car. We tried asking for an explanation but they just kept telling us to 'get out and they were going to call the cops on us.' To have this sort of an experience is extremely dissatisfying and I hope this doesn't reflect on how Ford is training their employees to respond to customers. By refusing to work on my car, I had to drive my car back to my parents, knowing the risk of the bolt coming off and putting me or others at risk could happen. It is scary that these employees at Ford also did not care for safety of myself and others as well. Update: filed a complaint with better business bureau. Ford claims we were hostile and threatening but video we saw proves the opposite. This company will lie to make themselves look good. They claim they have to disengage once legal advice is mentioned but in another yelp review, someone mentioned taking Gresham ford to judge Judy. Many months later, same user updated their review saying ford made an agreement with them and made things right. Another person filed a complaint with bbb and Fords response was the guy was yelling and swearing in front of children but they still helped him. My dad and I never yelled or never swore but we won't get helped. Looks like since they know their parts keep breaking over and over, they are afraid to continue pursuing this issue thus not wanting to help us anymore. Shady sales practices. Do not recommend unless can put in writing price first. Called in about a price for a car that I saw online made an appointment to come in checked it out. Like didn't spoke to the sales person about purchasing it and seeing what numbers we can come up with. The overall price after my credit was ran and jumped up an extra $3000. To my surprise I asked why when are we just discussed the price earlier. He told me that website must not of updated. So now I am wasted my time with them and now I have a double digit ding on my credit due to their lying to me about what the price of the car was trying to sell me the car at a price that was an agreed-upon. read more

Being the procrastinator that I am, I put off yelp reviews and oil changes. Today was my breaking point on the oil change. My husband always does them for me, but he is out of town, so I sucked it up. I first called Sandy Ford and they told me nearly a week before they could fit me in. Really just on an oil change? Okay, so I call Gresham Ford and they tell me come on in, they aren't busy. I drove out and sure enough they got me right in. They did it in about 30 minutes and checked belts, battery, tires, hoses and fluid levels. If you are a first time customer you get half off the oil change mine was $16 today, which they didn't tell me until the end. When I went to pay they sign you up for a free Advantage plan and it tracks your oil changes, which every 5th one is free and it counts for all cars in your family. Then they put a $10 credit on it as well as giving you 5% back on it. So, that was great. He did tell me normally, Friday's are slammed. So, I will keep that in mind. read more

Absolutely terrible experience with the service department. I just took my Ford F-150 in for recall and warranty repairs. I drove an hour in traffic each way to get to this dealership because their commercials make them sound great! Rookie move! I should have read the reviews prior to going. Upon arrival, the service guy who checked me in was dismissive and unfriendly. I explained that I was there for recall repairs, and to have the driver side seat warmer fixed under warranty. Additionally I needed them to do an overall safety inspection as I'm heading out on a road trip. I received a call back 8 hours later telling me there was nothing wrong with the seat, but everything else was done. I arrived to stand in line at the service desk, only to be told I now had to stand in line at the cashier who had all my paperwork. Once I got to the cashier, she tried to rush me out the door, but I insisted that someone needed to talk to me about what they'd found. She said, "they did the repairs and your seat is fine." I asked about the inspection which she'd just stapled to her filing paperwork. She pulled it back out and it was BLANK! I asked why they hadn't done the work, and she sent me to stand in yet another line to talk to the service manager. His response? Well I guess we could do it now. When I asked how long it would take, it was another 30 minutes before they could get to it. I'm already almost 45 minutes in plus driving time. No way! The manager said I could call in and talk with Greg in the morning. (Hint: Greg was the dismissive fellow from earlier in this soliloquy. Not sure why I'd want to voluntarily relive that, especially when I'm already talking to the manager!) I asked for my keys, which, you guessed it, I had to go wait for back at the cashier. She kindly pointed me outside where my truck was waiting. I guess I'm spoiled, because when Dick Hannah works on our vehicles, they always come back clean. Not so much with Gresham Ford. I didn't even have a clean truck to soothe my angst. Now I'm going to have to schedule extra time away from work to get the inspection that should have already been done. Driving home, I turned on the seat warmer that they told me was getting up to 110 degrees. I know you'll be shocked when I finish my review by stating the seat warmer STILL DOESN'T WORK!! Because it's under warranty, I'm required to go to a Ford dealership, but it won't be this one ever again. I called around and asked for recommendations from other shops, and I'll be making the drive to Vancouver to have them do the work that should have been done the first time. Bess, this was a terrible service experience and definitely not what you broadcast! I'll be having the new shop double check the work that was supposedly done, as now even that is in doubt. Was forced into buying a new car when my old one was stolen and totaled. Really wish I would have purchased from a different location. After purchasing vehicle there are non stop calls to purchase additional equipment for known recalls dating prior to purchase they did not do in house. brought car in for first oil change and check up HUGE MISTAKE: upon working on my own vehicle I'm seeing that my brand new car is missing several bolts from the undercarriag. I am the first owner and only this service center has ever touched it, could seriously go on about many other issues. Would highly recommend AVOIDING this location. My sister and I each bought a brand new Ford Explorer from Gresham Ford October 2021. January 7, 2022, my car broke down for the first time and had to be towed. They had to replace gear shift box at this appointment. Next, it didn't start in my driveway and then for some reason started. My third mechanical issue, it stopped in the middle of the road. This time a new transmission was put in my BRAND new car. The fourth issue, the heater quit working. The fifth issue it broke down on my way to work with bells and dashboard flashing and again was towed. I was told by Gresham Ford that they working with Ford to "make things right". I was then told that they were ordering a new car for me, exactly what I had. They gave me a shop car that I drove for over 9 months waiting for my "New car". They called me January 5th, 2023, telling me my new car was finally in. I was SO excited after paying car payments for a car I couldn't drive and getting a new car that hopefully wouldn't break down. When I got there they told me I would have to pay an additional $17,000 for the new car. Not ONCE did any of the 5 people that I worked with tell me I would owe $17,000 MORE!!!! I ended up leaving with the car that has broken down 5 times with only 5,000 miles on it. Gresham Ford TOTALLY dropped the ball on this. I'm angry and disgusted in the communication and the way I was treated by Gresham Ford. It is inexcusable for a company to do business this way. I would give them ZERO stars if I could! read more

The Service Center could use some improvements. Last December I tried to order a Remote starter for my 2011 F-150. After Ryan and Doug quoted me 2 different prices, we finally agreed on what to do it for. Then when I called to make an appointment to get the job done. No one was available. So I left my information to get a call back. That call never came. Chalked it up to 1 bad experience and decided it wasn't worth doing the starter. Then this February my check engine light came on. Took it to Gresham Ford to have them check the code. Ryan checked it, said it wasn't a commen code so he cleared it. Light came back on so took it back. Ran the diagnostic and turns out bad timing chain at 48000 miles. Oh well, gotta get it fixed. So Ryan ordered parts for me and said they would be in in a few days. I call and leave a message a few days later. No response. I call again and a nice woman says no parts yet, we'll call you when they come in. wait 2 more days, call again. Finally talk to Ryan.....Turns out he didn't order them!! What is going on? I told him thought we ordered Thursday. He says I don't remember, that was like 100 people ago. Terrible Terrible service!! DON'T GO HERE for repair or service work. Had them do a multipoint inspection before a big roadtrip. Car broke down a week later. Here is what they missed: - Master break cylinder leaking badly, caused BREAK FAILURE in mountains! - Front control arms ball-joints visibly damaged, risking steering failure - Transmission fluid way too low, causing transmission failure - Break fluid long overdue for a change, causing further break problems - Engine idler to loose, risking engine overheating Am yet waiting to find an agreement with this place to get compensation and an explanation as to why they endangered our lives (e.g. break failure). I brought my 2012 truck in with 59,000 miles for an oil change and walked out of with a bill of 1010.00.. Let me explain We are volunteers in camp sites and travel a lot pulling a 35 foot trailer. Tires are important for safety. I knew the tires would probably be risky on our next move from Portland OR to central California and I was right. Lindsay told me I do have some limited life on them but not to tow. She showed empathy when telling me I would have to buy new tires. We took our Explorer in for an intermittent electrical problem that shuts the radio off and doesn't allow the windows to roll down. They kept it for a day and couldn't find the problem. When i inquired about next steps the service guy dismissed it as a problem with our cell phone and the connection to cell towers. Cell towers...really? "Absolutely". Why not just admit you can't figure it out instead of a line of crap? I know for a fact this issue has occurred without a Bluetooth connected phone in the vehicle. Purchased a Fusion hybrid here in January (which I love). Both Sam and AJ were great to work with during purchase, they both get 5 stars. Fast forward to June: Called two weeks ago to make sure they would have parts in for two different recalls on the car before I just showed up needing work done. When I made the appointment on the phone, the nice woman I spoke with did inform me my car would have to be at the dealership all day (that's okay). Went in this am for my appointment and when I asked about a loaner vehicle and was informed that there were 17 people in front of me on a wait list. This was a bit of a disappointment that maybe I should have asked about when I set the appointment over the phone instead of expecting they would have one for me. It would have also been nice if the woman I spoke to asked if I was going to need one (which I do). The man that I talked about this with this morning at the dealership was nice about it, but basically let me know they would call me when one became available and then I would have to basically drop whatever else I have going on within a day and drive to the dealership to drop off my car and pick up the service loaner. This puts a wrench (no pun intended) in things a bit because I don't live or work anywhere near Gresham. The plus side to this is I was able to get the vehicle into the Quick Lane for an oil change and checkup. All those folks were really nice and helpful and I am happy with the info they gave me about the car. Overall I like this dealership a lot, it's a big place with a lot of activity so gotta be a great communicator with them about requests I guess. I will be back to get my recall items fixed once my number is up on that waitlist and I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy a Ford or who needs the services at the Quick Lane. They made it as far as Troutdale before it obvious they had a problem with there car over heating. Since they drive a Ford and are loyal to the brand I suggested they call the local dealership. All I have to say is everyone at the dealership treated my parents with care and respect. They helped arrange a tow truck to the dealership and had the car fixed with 24hrs on Memorial Day Weekend!!!! My parents were so grateful they left a 50.00 tip for the mechanic who working late and came in early to get there car fixed and get them back on the road. A 5 star experience! read more
