I have been a customer of Greg'S Orange Auto for over 10 years. He has worked on my vehicles from a simple oil change to more involved work. Was always done on time and for what he had quoted . I was always updated if anything came up and advised if it was something I had to do or if it could wait for the next service . Great Family owed Business . Always recommend them when asked who I take my cars to. read more

I've been bringing my 1960 rambler here for several years because JR is the first mechanic that I feel is completely honest with me about my car and its needs. They are upfront, honest, and relatively quick. read more

Thank you JR for your honest and committed work. I brought in my old 1999 V6 Mustang 2 years ago to get the manual fixed. (It snapped on the freeway making gear selection useless) I called Greg's Auto and spoke to JR and he told me to get it towed to their facility to see what they can do. They completely fixed it and actually made it shift and drive better then when I first initially bought it. I brought in my fiancee car to see if her cars coolant was leaking. (I was quoted by my dealership that it was and they wanted to charge me an arm a leg to get it repaired, on top of that I purchased their premium extended warranty for the car and they said that the coolant hose isn't covered.) JR did a pressure test and told me there wasn't a leak or drop of pressure. He also asked if I would like to leave it overnight to make sure. He called me the next morning with great news and said there still wasn't a drop of pressure. He also reassured me that If there are any further issues to please bring it in. At the end of the day I truly admire and appreciate the hard work of independent shops. I'll make sure to tell my friends and family about my experience and I look forward to visiting Greg's Auto for future repairs. Thanks again! read more

My sisters car broke down in Orange County , AAA (triple A) recommended Greg's Auto in Orange. Since it was late Saturday night and they are closed on Sundays, we had to wait until Monday to speak to the auto shop. We did they key drop off through the mail slot. Come Monday morning JR called within 30 minutes of opening. He told me the cost of the diagnosis which I okay's and that he would call me as soon as the diagnosis which only took about 30 minutes. JR was very thorough and explained everything to me.Their pricing was very reasonable and they were very quick. JR was also very good about keeping me in the loop and calling when he said he'd call. My mind was at ease and Greg's auto made the stressful situation so much more tolerable. The car has been running great since they fixed it last week. Thank you JR for the fast, efficient service! read more

When my Saab would not suddenly start two years ago, I got it towed to a local mechanic, one that AAA had highly recommended. Upon bring it in the staff was friendly and helpful and diagnosed a fuel pump failure rather quickly. I gave them the okay to work on it right away and the estimate came out to about $900. This being my first car and all, I gave them the thumbs up without doing much outside consulting or comparative shopping. They got the job done and I was on my way in 4 days. Not bad I thought. I just went to get a oil leak fixed in my same Saab, and found a great place in the Orange area that specializes in Saabs. Brought my car in and mentioned the previous work that I had gotten done. When he asked the price I paid I casually dropped the $900 I had paid and his jaw dropped in horror. He was afraid to tell me the price he charges for the exact same job. He showed me an invoice of another customer who was getting a new fuel pump installed in her Saab (same model as me) and her price came to $300. He said that job should fluctuate between $200 to $600 for my car. Never $900. The head of the shop called the last job criminal and an absolute rip off. He was ashamed that a fellow mechanic would charge such ungodly prices. I wish I had comparatively shopped A LOT earlier. It was a shame that I was ripped off. Lesson learned. Thanks Greg. read more

Excellent and trust-worthy service. Whether its Greg or Jr. assisting you, you get honest service and reasonable prices. They beat out Chapman Care Center's offer to me by nearly $100. I will go back to Greg's Orange Auto. read more

6 weeks ago I was towed to this shop and I'm lucky I was. The staff is great and they fixed my vehicle at a great price and quickly. I have referred numerous people to this shop and will continue to do so. Greg and Greg are the real deal and they have my business for as long as I live in California. read more

Greg & JR have taken care of my breaks, shocks, and tires. I was so happy with their work and professionalism that I recommended them to my mom. Today, they replaced my mom's tires. When mama's happy, we're all happy. We are happy. Thank you! read more

First brought my husbands truck here when the drivers side door wouldn't open. I called around before choosing which shop to go to, what they thought it could be/cost/etc. I chose Greg's because they were the most friendly and accommodating. Pretty glad I did. Ended up having the door fixed and then coming back for about $3k worth of work on the Dodge Ram. My husband was deployed at the time and I'm pretty wary of being overcharged/ripped off being a woman, but I never felt that way here. JR showed me the old parts that were taken off along with the difference between those and the new, and showed me how much the parts cost for them to order side by side with my invoice. They came and showed me any issue, explained it in full detail, discussed the possibilities of what it could be and gave me the option to fix or not fix - and the many times I chose to forgo a repair/replacement, they did not pressure me or try to suggest I change my mind. They made sure I had a detailed report for my husband on what was fixed and why, along with what maybe needed done in the future. JR has excellent customer service skills and him, along with the few others who worked on the truck, did an outstanding job with remarkable attitudes and friendliness. Since my husband got home and looked over the work they did, he's nothing but happy. I recommend them without reservation - their friendly attitude alone, aside from their great work, is the reason I probably won't go anywhere else. read more

I called for a quote and JR gave me a fair one. I came in early the next morning (they are BUSY) to get the services I needed (water pump/steering pump) and the only thing they charged me more for was an extra belt associated with the water pump. No add ons or upsells, random charges for associated services that you'd expect to be included, "magically broken" things or nonsense recommendations, even when I asked if there were any problems they had noticed along the way. These guys are HONEST mechanics. In terms of work, they completed everything within the allotted time, always wiped down their hands before handling anything in my car, and cleaned the engine bay well before returning it to me. They even diagnosed another problem I had free of charge, and made a down to earth recommendation on whether or not it would be worth it to fix it for the price (it wasn't) Tips? Call the day before, then get there at 7:30 if you can. Jobs start rolling in crazy fast after they open. read more

I was impressed with the time that Greg and JR took to get to know our vehicle inside and out, before working on it. We had a bit of an "Odd Duck" with our Promaster "Eco Diesel" and they did the research before jumping in. What we thought was was a catastrophic failure, ended up being an oil viscosity issue. I appreciate the quick and honest service and recommend others with fleets to check these guys out! #BESTINTHEOC read more

From the moment I walked it, I was extremely impressed with the friendliness and knowledge. This place is sneaky with their words. They had me sign a sheet of 108.00 and said they were going fix my brakes. I told them what to I wanted to do. They called me and gave me a price of $800-$1100. I said I can't afford that now and I will go get my truck. Then they charged me $26 for eval and never said there will be a charge just to look!!! Then the fat guy said well you signed a sheet for $108! They are shady so make sure you get correct wording from them. I paid them $20 and walked away with bad brakes. Not good service at all! They just want your money it appears. Over charging! Other mechanics just give you a courtesy estimate. Go somewhere else people... read more

I called in the morning for a headlight replacement and they said they could take me that same day. When my car needs repairs it is always stressful so I appreciate the service at Greg's so much! They also will tell you what your car might need next or additional recommended service without being pushy or "sold to". Great, honest auto repair shop that I highly recommend. read more

Greg & J.R are Aweeesomme! AAA referred them to me when I needed a mechanic close by. Having an older car means I need to stay on top of the maintenance quite often. Anytime I have a car problem they're willing to take it in & have a diagnosis for me ASAP (depending on how busy they are). At other mechanics, they don't even care to give you a courtesy call & let you know the estimated time you will be without your vehicle!! These guys provide Great Customer Service! read more

After two recent trips to a repair shop out of state to fix a brake issue, the real problem had not been fixed. Despite the fact I had to pump my brakes to stop the vehicle and look at a break light and anti-lock dashboard light while I was driving. I made it back to Irvine. I took the vehicle to Greg's this morning and within minutes they diagnosed the problem. JR explained the problem and physically showed me the problem (a leaking rear wheel brake cylinder). A few hours later I was good to go (Greg test drove it first to make sure everything was okay). The price was reasonable. I am extremely pleased with Greg's Auto Repair and will not hesitate to bring my other vehicles here for service and repair. Great job and thanks! read more

Great honest work. They explained everything to me so I could understand. JR was super helpful. This is my new place to take my cars!!!

The guys at Greg's are awesome. JR is doing a great job running the place just like his dad before him. This shop is reliable, efficient, trustworthy, and very fairly priced. I highly recommend Greg's Orange Auto. read more

I've been going to Gregs shop since i got my first car when I was 16. He fixed it up to perfection every time it needed a tune up or major work. I recently sold my first car and the guy who bought it said it runs like it was brand new, thanks to greg this was possible. He is timely and always calls with updates whenever I needed to leave it there for a few days. He really knows what he is talking about and dumbs it down so someone like me can understand what is going on :) read more

You can throw away all pre-conceived notions of mechanics when you visit Greg's Orange Auto Shop. Their estimates are always fair and accurate; no unnecessary repairs - and the work is always exceptional. I've even had them talk me OUT of an unneeded job & they showed me how/why I wrongly thought I needed something. As a woman who could EASILY be taken advantage of at an auto shop it's nice to see Greg and his staff take the time to explain things to me in a language I understand and to constantly keep me updated about my vehicle when leaving it for work. Just a great, fair, professional shop, I would highly recommend them! I even take my car there for simple oil changes because the experience is so easy and the faces are always so friendly! read more

Came to this place and Greg took me right in and finished the job very quickly. I had a bad starter and the work was complete less then 2 hours. I had a chance to come across Greg's Orange Auto this morning at 630AM in the morning through AAA. A huge trash bag the size of a horse was rolling in the middle of the fast lane and it completely destroyed my front undercover protector for the radiator on my Prius. At my age, you get to know a little about a car in how to maintain it and what to do when you get in a situation like this. At 6 in the morning, it is a pleasure to have a hard working mechanic like Greg in and around Orange County. I will tell you that Greg and his son works hard to keep their customers satisfied. I was very pleased with his assessment in what to do today and will very likely come back when I find myself needing a sound, honest mechanic in Orange County. read more

My daughter and son in law love this shop. Greg and JR are honest and always take care of us.

I've always taken my car to Greg for any repair for over 5 years. The price is always reasonable and it is very quick to be fixed. Even something as simple as an oil change, i'm in and out of there in a timely manner. Being a girl, I do not like taking my car in for anything to be done to it, so if it is fast and at a reasonable cost then I Greg's is the only place I will go. read more

I have been taking all of our vehicles to Greg's Orange Auto for 17 years, including our motor home. The work done here is always timely, complete and totally honest. If a repair is not absolutely urgent, they will let you know that you can wait till the next oil change. My extended family also takes their cars to Greg's even though they live 60 miles away. I really appreciate knowing that I can trust and will get reliable service at good prices. read more

Greg and JR are the best! They go above and beyond when it comes to customer service as well as quality car repair. I've always hated having to get my car fixed because I never felt like I could trust the company or mechanic- I felt like unnecessary things were being added on. Not at Greg's! I finally found a place where people are honest! They've worked on my ford focus twice now and both times I've walked away extremely happy. They are also very accommodating. I left town while my car was being repaired and they let me keep it there for 5 extra days. I've definitely recommended them to family and friends! Plus they are AAA approved, so you know you are getting quality parts with warranties as well! Honesty and Quality is what you get at Greg's Orange Auto! read more

By far the best place to take your vehicle. Greg and JR are very trustworthy and do excellent work. Thanks guys!

I have a 10 year old Honda Pilot that needed 100k mile service including replacing the timing belt and associated components. I had a quote from the Honda dealer, Greg's Auto did all the same work, plus additional items my car would need in another few months, for almost the same price! Plus they knew I was expecting to deliver my second child any day, so they went above and beyond service and washed and vacuumed my car for me also, "one less thing for you to worry about right now!" These guys are fantastic, i highly recommend going to them for your car service!! read more

Great service, honest mechanic. Will continue to bring my vehicles here.

AAA approved to rip me off. Charged me $429.96 for a part that you can walk in any parts store and purchase for $140.00. That's over 300% mark up. They will take advantage of you if your car is disabled. The Auto Club was no help at all with my dispute. That AAA Approved sign in front means nothing. I used this shop because they were AAA APPROVED. I will never return. The response below is a completely untruthful statement from the business owner.........I copied and pasted below in case he wants to change his response. "We did install 3 of his cheaper clutches at no charge and spent countless hrs on the phone with him and his parts guy. After 3 days he agreed to letting me install my clutch. Which worked fine and he now gets a 24 month 24,000 mile warranty. Thanks for your imput" I have a 2 page invoice for 956.36 for a 2002 Ford Ranger describing all work performed to prove that this business owner is an outright LIAR!! I supplied 1 HEAVY DUTY (after market) clutch because the factory clutch has plastic in them that break all the time. This plastic is what had broken in my original clutch. His tech did not know how to install this after market heavy duty clutch correctly. I was told by my parts person that he resold that same clutch at a discounted price with no issues at all. Greg stated to me that I would have to pay Triple labor cost at ($400 x 3 = $1200) if the 2nd clutch I supplied didn't work. I said to Greg "you win" install your $429 clutch. That's 1 clutch........ not 3 read more

I have been here twice and both times it has been fast and easy. The first time was for my oil change. I don't know a lot about cars and it's usually pretty obvious so I have to be careful not to go to places that will take advantage. Greg was helpful, informative and most importantly, not overpriced! Today was my 2nd visit and again, fast and easy. As someone who doesn't want to deal with the hassles of auto repair, it's nice to know that I can come here and be treated well and get in and out in a timely manner. This is definitely the place I will recommend to friends and family. Finding someone honest in this industry isn't easy, so I'm pretty happy I found Greg! read more

What a piece of mind to have a good and honest mechanic. I have been dealing with Greg's Orange Auto for some 10 years now. I have 5 vehicles at home that he has taken care of over this period of time with some additional ones from friends and family. Greg's has always been very thorough and informative as to the situations with repairs as well as staying on top of my cars needs for preventative maintenance. Greg, J.R. and Dave have always kept myself, the customers needs in their best interest. With young woman in the family driving it is very important to me that these vehicles are reliable and safe to drive. Greg has made many recommendations over the years that has certainly saved some bad situations. I have been so comfortable with Greg's over the years he is servicing a fleet of service vehicles from my company. Again, he is very thorough and the cost is always 15% better than any dealer or other shop that I have dealt with. Thanks again to Greg's Orange Auto as it is a treat to find someone you can trust as I do with them. read more
