On the plus side they had a place to sit and sip coffee out of the 90 degrees outside. Service was polite and quick. That being said New York coffee shops are unusual in that they put cream in your coffee for you. Yet you are responsible for putting in your own sweetener. In the old days I remember they did both. It's something I am not accustomed to. The bad news is that they put too much creamer in making the coffee Luke warm. The taste was fine but not having a piping hot cup of coffee less enjoyable. The barista this morning was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I waited 20 minutes for my 2 drinks. The first came out, and the other was MIA for a while, so I politely inquired about it-- twice. The first time she said, "it's coming." The second time, she asked me what my drink was again, which let me know that it really was not coming at all. Literally everyone in the store and many who had left already had been helped before me. When the drink was finally ready, she called out the names of two other drinks and then thunked mine down without a word, requiring me ask, "is this my drink?" I don't know why she was so rude to me for asking after an order that they forgot to handle. Wish I hadn't tipped in advance. Was here for vacation & wanted to try a local coffee shop. I LOVED the Salted Carmel Cold Brew they had. I now crave that coffee, which of course is not here in the Bay. I came here twice and wait time is maybe 10-15 minutes. My boyfriend and I got some breakfast sandwiches, which weren't bad, but got lost in the morning rush so drinks came out way before our food. The 2nd time we came we only got coffee, but inside was less busy and we were able to catch a place to sit. Inside was super clean & staff was very friendly! Gregory's is a great coffeeshop chain. They always have ample seating, functional WiFi, and a clean bathroom. They even had a few outlets. It's a great place to get some work done. The tables they have are pretty small though. It'd be challenging to share a table with a friend if you're both getting work done, but perfect size if you're just catching up. I recommend getting the chai latte or the regular latte. I've tried the drip coffee and it has more of a bitter aftertaste than the rest of their drinks. The chai and the regular latte are both very smooth and delicious. They also had a ton of pastries available in case you get hungry. Haven't tried any yet but have been very tempted! read more

Gregory's Coffee is a New York staple. This location on historic 44th Ave is a great one.... and it's near my hotel, The Royalton. It's stacked to the ceiling with fresh bakery every morning. I love the brownie. It's very decadent and tastes like they use good chocolate and a lot of it. Their cold brew in perfect and their lattes are stellar, and they have oat and almond milk. Staff are always having fun and they're very friendly. If I lived in NY, I'd practically live at Gregory's! So get in here! read more

Everyone in this comapany is great, and there was plenty of space to work. I will l say, this is the second time I've been to the location, and the second time they forgot to make my coffee. I don't get anything fancy, I just want a cup with a splash of oat. What I think happens, is there is some disconnect when there is a line between who pours the drip, and who gives you the cup. I think the barista thinks its the register, and the reg thinks its the barista. I'm not mad, I did get it after being asked why I was still standing there for ten minutes. I don't know if it's destination coffee but it's more convenient than other options. Starbucks and an increasing number of high-end office lobby espresso purveyors are available nearby, but at a cost of slow lines or no seats. Gregory's doesn't feel like it's in Midtown. On the culinary side of things, I'm glad to see they're mixing up the cold brew subgenre. I enjoyed the Honey Badger option. read more

After this trip to NYC, I know that I am. We got the regular drip coffee. They have a "Coffee is the Day" during week days but we were there on a Saturday. Firstly, love the branding. Very Millennial and simple. Even the store layout was just simple and clean. You could dine in if you decide to get one of their over priced breakfast smoothies or one of their baked goods. This location was just outside of Times Square so it was quite busy. We got our coffees to go. You can have Milk or cream in your offer and what we sweetener you like. Sounds like a good program, but not really for me, as I was just visiting. As I walked in, I wasn't greeted by friendly faces, but more like staff that were just trying to get through the day. I ordered a latte but they didn't ask for my name for my order so I had to do some guesswork to figure out which latte was mine. It tasted pretty decent - the foam was good but the drink as a whole was average - maybe slightly above. Wow, great coffee! I heard from my friend that this was the NYC-only coffee chain, so i decided to try it out. I got the Caramel Macchiato (since they didn't have the White Mocha). The drink was pretty good. Very nice creamy foam. And the caramel flavor was present and consistent through out. Very enjoyable coffee! I didn't need to add any sugar because the sweetness level was just right to me (i liked my coffee to be a little sweeter than other people). The shop was small and clean, I could find a seat easily. A NYC coffee shop with ample seating, free WiFi, outlets, and a bathroom is almost always guaranteed to get a 5 star from me. I actually have a separate collection for NYC coffee shops that have WiFi and a bathroom (since believe it or not- there aren't that many that have both). And Gregory's Coffee not only met my standards, it it exceeded them since the latte I ordered was delicious and the barista I had was friendly. Needless to say, I will be back. read more

Really love their coffee but much more a tourist stop vs. A place to work. Music is a 7/10 for loudness (1/10= library and 10/10= need ear plugs to focus). Lots of people in and out constantly with small tables. There are outlets under the long bench to the left when you walk in but that isn't enough for me to study here. Went into the bathroom,I'd say it is a 7/10 for cleanliness with a 1/10 being most Starbucks bathrooms in Manhattan and 10/10 being a fancy restaurant but... This is a sad example of a prenaid/shipped bacon egg and cheese that took over 15minutes to get. Service was horrible. Of the four employees only the cashier with the short white hair was doing anything. The other three were sitting around talking to each other, not helping her. Here's your 100th review, Greg. So I work with a firm that's just around the corner from Gregory's, so whenever I'm in New York, I seem to end up here a lot for those impromptu business meetings where you don't know where else to meet in Midtown. While it's no Philz, the mini-chain back home in San Francisco that has perfected individual brewing, Gregory's at least follows the same logic of a one-cup-one-brew process with single-origin, direct-trade coffee. I definitely noticed the difference from my usual Vanilla Blonde grande from Starbucks. But on my last couple of visits, I had forsaken their coffee to take advantage of their smoothies because man, it's been getting sticky hot around there. The first one I tried was the $5.35 Peanut Pleaser, a delightfully sweet soy milk concoction that Elvis would have loved with peanut butter, banana and whey protein. But my favorite was the refreshing $5.35 Morning Boost with vanilla yogurt, granola, strawberries, blueberries and whey protein (photo: http://bit.ly/11Fk4WZ). The place is constantly bustling, so good luck finding a seat. I was in New York last December and it was freezing outside so I Yelped the nearest coffee shop and stumbled upon this one. I came in and it was quite busy. Even though there was a line behind me the sweet cashier helped me with my order as it was my first time in there. I prefer my coffee sweet and creamy so she suggested the Honey Badger and Lemon Poppy Pound Cake, which I evidently found out was a vegan option. I am not a vegan so I thought this was not going to satisfy my taste buds, but to my surprise it was really good and Moist. The slice itself is generous so I didn't finish it. As for the coffee it was the balance of sweet and creamy that I had hoped for but I am thinking it would be better off iced. It seems like this place has multiple locations all throughout New York City so I'll definitely try it again when the weather is warmer! read more

Came here on one of the coldest nights of the year. A Wednesday night, 6pm. There was still some seating available. Good enough seating to come and study for a short time. I got the Strawberry CBD drink. Forgive me, I forgot the name but it's the only one like it on the menu. Loved this. I can't say if it really had any "CBD effect" since I smoked right after, but it was comforting and the strawberry flavor wasn't overwhelming. My bf got the Drip coffee. It was good for those who like a more bitter flavor coffee. He added a little cinnamon and sugar on the raw. It was perfect. I love the logo and would've bought a cup and saucer if i was going straight home afterwards. They sell pastries and other cold beverages. The bathroom could use a clean but it's public in NYC..maybee they get a pass ? Looking forward to going back if in the area. read more

In this part of midtown, you will be hard pressed to find a coffee shop that actually produces a quality cup of coffee whether it be a house blend or a single origin. I am sure Starbucks fanatics would vehemently disagree, but sometimes the truth hurts. Ha! In recent weeks, Gregory's has added several new additions to their coffee selection including an excellent cup of single origin in the La Batista Geisha. If people are willing to spend $6+ for a cup of coffee, you know there must be something special going on! Moreover, this Yelper is a big fan of the organic, cold-pressed juices being offered especially the lemon/ginger/agave flavor. This Gregory's location is a tad hidden next to the Royalton, but it remains synonymous with what is amazing about the Gregory's franchise: quality coffee, excellent pastries, and a friendly staff. And the logo is ingenious! This location also offers free wi-fi and is open late, so you can easily get your fix if you are working late. It's a great spot to lounge or study if you can find a seat, and it actually works as a nice option for quick meetings for small groups during the day. read more
