We just had Greenway come out to service both of our central air conditioners via American Home Shield on 6/26/15. They have been out many times to our house for various reasons over the 15 years we owned our home and my husband and I couldn't be happier with this company. Blake came out yesterday but we have had many different staff at our house. They arrive on time, are very professional and friendly. Blake did a fantastic job and like others at Greenway went over and beyond the required service. We love Greenway and they are our preferred provider. Have been Greenway client for 20 years until today. Have maintenance plan. Tech (oops sales rep masquerading) was here over two hours for 3 systems. Comes downstairs and presents me with a laundry list of what's not right even possible carbon monoxide escaping into the attic (we have carbon monoxide detectors all over the house) and by state law (law doesn't exist) he was required to turn off gas to all 3 furnaces. Mentioned I had a warranty and second opinion would be forthcoming. I asked tech to turn gas back on to units. He couldn't because of the law. The supervisor called me and said he'd send tech back out to check for carbon monoxide. Didn't hear back and called the number answered Brown H &A part of the Greenway. Dispatcher sent tech back out checked for carbon monoxide (none) and turned gas back on and never mentioned the FAKE state law he'd invoked without even checking for the carbon monoxide. Maintenance contact appears to be a way in the door to sell products and services not needed. It appears the Greenway was bought out and merged into a conglomerate of HVAC companies. Unfortunately I'm still on their maintenance, faster service calls and a 20% discount. I'm not sure I can afford to be a preferred client. read more

I scheduled my annual heating unit check-up since I'm on the company's discount plan. Last year, Mr. Greenway replaced the heat exchanger and cleaned the blower motor. This year, the technician showed up with his supervisor, completed the check-up, and then told me my blower motor needed cleaning again ($471) and that I needed to replace the inducer motor ($1,239) -- a total of over $1,700. While they were working, I checked other customer reviews and began questioning their conclusion. They didn't try to explain or justify the recommendations; instead, they gave me a look that made me feel like they'd been caught red-handed. I then got a second opinion from a reputable company (without mentioning that Mr. Greenway had already inspected it last year). That company confirmed everything was fine -- the system was clean and operational. I'm disappointed, but not surprised, because I've caught Choates doing similar things to its customers before. For reference, a brand-new inducer motor costs under $200 and takes about 20-30 minutes to install. My blower motor was already cleaned last year. In my opinion: don't get ripped off--if something sounds suspicious, get a second opinion. We started using Mr. Greenway for HVAC maintenance only because they bought out Brown Refrigeration, who we've used for years. They presented us with a list of supposedly needed repairs to both systems, including a cracked heat exchanger, leaking refrigerant and mold, for a total of $12,000. Alternatively, they suggested we might want to replace one entire system and gave us an estimate for $22,000. We got a second opinion from a reputable, well-established firm and were told there was nothing wrong with either system. Needless to say, we will not be using Mr. Greenway in the future. (Curiously, the Mr. Greenway technician said he had shut off the gas as required due to possible carbon monoxide leakage pending repair of the heat exchanger. It was therefore disturbing to learn from the second technician that the gas had not in fact been shut off.) read more

Bait and switch tactics. Their webpage clearly states "Drain clearing with a camera inspection- $99" The tech told me the price would be $350 after arrival and the $99 is only for main drains. I clearly told dispatch my upstairs sink was clogged . They then tried to charge me $79 for a service call after I refused service. Also got a bid for a 3.5 tonne air conditioner and furnace replacement. They were 3K more than two other highly reputable companies. I have used Greenway for decades and they have always been very good. They are still very prompt, professional, etc. The service is fine. Their pricing is now way too high, borderline criminal. I asked the tech that came to the house about, what can we do about the pricing. I was advised they sold out to a conglomerate and it is no longer the same company that we knew. I guess they want to get into the "collection business", b/c Memphis customers cannot afford this pricing. ... I heard the commercials on the radio. I have a leaking faucet in the tub. I called, and they told me it would cost $80 to come out for service. Typical, okay, no problem. The tech looked at it and quoted me over $600 to replace the stem/seal on the hot water faucet. He said he had to rebuild it. I'm not a plumber, but a new stem is less than $20 at Home Depot. I can't believe it would be that much to replace the entire faucet. They present a nice commercial but try to rip you off with the "fee." Never calling back or recording them to anyone. 0 out of 10. They have been to my house 3 times, each time missing the appointment window and have yet to fix the running toilet. This is the Nashville location. You can only make appointments through Memphis. The last technician actually diagnosed the issue (After 3 other technicians), but could not fix the problem that night. Called in a new service date and the technician has NOT shown up. Hot water tank replaced. Greenway was assigned to do the job through my home warranty company. My warranty company paid for the tank and installation however after all the supposed extra items needed, I had to come out of pocket around $1100.00 extra. When I asked for an itemized receipt I was told to call the office and they would send me a email. I did call the office and put in my request and the lady said ok. After a few days and no itemized list I called again and she said she would send it. Once again nothing. After that my calls went unanswered. So unprofessional! After no calls being answered repeatedly for days I decided to call from a different number. Surprisedly my call was answered on the first ring. I finally received the list and yes they do charge an overly excessive amount for items. Needless to say I will never allow my warranty company to send greenway. We were one of hundreds of people affected by the ice storm in December of 2022 and the restoration company we worked with contracted Mr Greenway to replace our tankless water heater. I was told by the installer when he arrived that he had never installed a tankless water heater and he was doing this as a favor. I was very concerned and contacted the restoration company to voice my concern. They ensured me that it would be done right. Well, it took 3 trips to get it to work properly. Needless to say, today the tankless water heaters pipes THAT WERE NOT CRIMPED OR SEALED pulled apart and water went EVERYWHERE!!! In addition to that there was no drain pan!!! Very happy with the service they provided. They were fast and very thorough in reviewing the issue and suggesting multiple solutions. They took the time to explain how each option would solve my HVAC issues and allowed me to choose which would work best for me. They went above and beyond to get the job completed with minimal interruption and cleaned up everything. I did not have a good home inspection done even though it was supposed to be. Each company coming to estimate made the same comments about why the issues were noted prior to me buying the home. Greenway replaced part of my HVaC in the attic and my drains are still not correct. They wanted to tear out my walls and replace drains which a drain can be redirected. I had another company come out who replaced the shut off valve and stated the drains were clear but wanted to see if the valve worked. After a week we had another leak which they now have a solution. The inspector stated that the HVAC that was replaced was not an issue. It's been the drains all along and that we paid money that did not have to be spent. Greenway got us... $3,000 worth. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Don't waste your money, time, or sanity working with this company to repair your AC. They don't intend to do any work, but do want to take as much of your money (and sanity) as possible in the process. They charged me a fee to come out then gave me a grossly padded and inflated quote ($16K) for work they hadn't even deemed as necessary in their assessment. When trying to drill down into what was actually needed (over multiple calls with over 10 customer service agents) their highest ranking technical manager, Mike, remained committed to the scam, quoting $850 for a condensation pump mod (available online for less than $100) as reasonable without him or his techs even looking at it. Needless to say, the inflated quote led the warranty company to reach out for clarity. Rather than being transparent, they tried to bypass them and upsell me a hvac system they themselves admitted was unnecessary. Furthermore, they refused to send the accurate diagnosis to AHS because they knew the most expensive parts would have to be covered and they didn't want to lose good standing with the company that provides them so many clients. They are willing to work overtime to disenfranchise the customer in service of this relationship. Even after over a month of repeated calls and scheduled visits (the last of which they did not even show up for and have yet to reschedule) my AC remains broken on the hottest summer on record and repeated calls continue to end in frustration and inexplicably yet another $300 fee. The whole process is a scam and it should be unconscionable that a company be more committed to money than the safety of their customers during a record heat wave. If you are like me and have a family you need to keep alive, avoid working with this company at all costs!! read more

They came in talking about the problem and act as if they were going to fix but all they did is got my service fee for both. They had no interest in solving the problem. Requested to repair a leaky spigot, appointment made for the next week. Tech showed up and said he didn't have the parts and he'd be back sometime next week to fix. Never showed up. Recieved a call to make another appointment for a week later (week 3) checked online and I see the appointment was not made for the same day they told us and had already passed with no word. Out of three other plumbers Mr. Greenway was the highest but I feel like they were a good company I went with them anyway the service was good but this is an insurance issue and they will not provide me with a itemized receipt, for the amount of money that I paid for the repair which was around $3700. I need this for my insurance company they tell me they will not provide that. I also asked to speak to Devon Williams, and no one can give me the man's information to him or him to respond to me, so I would really like just my receipt or response from the president of the company of why we can't produce that for an insurance company to finish processing our claim again I went with this company under the assumption, they were top-notch and not being able to get a receipt for something you paid for. Unprofessional. 2. the contractor threw the dirty on the drain and we had to call plumber to fix the issue he created 3. the contractor didn't fix the ac. They are absolutely the worst. A tech came out to "fix" our heating unit, disconnect the a/c, and promise he would order the part to take care of the issue, and never came back. When I called to ask, I was told "it's not in the notes" so you need to take it up with your home warranty service." I called back and they hung up on me! I persisted and finally spoke with "Allie the Customer Service Manager" who repeated the same message, got rude with me, and said, "she'd see if the Service Manager can send someone out." I have an American Home Shield Warranty that I will be canceling and I will not use Greenway Home Services anymore either. Here it is, the hottest week so far this year and my air went out. Made an appt through the warranty co with Greenway. Then I called Greenway and said the earliest they could get there would be 6/16/22. I called the warranty co back and they said they expedited with Greenway and it would be repaired in 24 hours. Got a text from Greenway saying they'd be out on the 21st !! They don't want to do any warranty work. It gets pushed way out so that if it is something major, you HAVE to call someone else ! All these MR GREENWAY commercials is a bunch of you know what ! I even asked about the advertisement saying they would be on there way to your problem within 30 minutes. ONLY if you pay 150.00 up front for expedited services, that is not applied to your repair. Mr Greenway came to my home twice in a week to clear a blockage in the washing machine drain. Both times the said the blockage was clear. After the second attempt the washer drain still overflowed. The only bright spot is that they did not charge for the second unsuccessful repair. We requested that they return with a camera to look at the drain line to verify and they refused. We had Mr Rooter come out. They found and cleared the blockage that was 6-8 feet from the washer . read more

Terrible experience here in Tennessee.. Contracted through American Shield Home Warrenty. Technician came out to inspect our tankless hot water heater. He was scheduled to be at my home between 8am-12pm. Received a text at 7am that there was an emergency and another tech would be out between 12-5pm. Cancelled the rest of my work day (that I don't get paid for because I'm self employed) to wait. Technician shows up, was here for about 10 minutes and said it was the heat regulator leaking but he never opened up the water heater to see if there was rust damage. Also said he didn't understand why it was in our crawl,space. Why even make that comment? I didn't install it. I'm told the part will take 3 business days to arrive. It takes three weeks. So they text me yesterday and say the part arrived and they could be at my house between 8-12 today. I rescheduled my work clients to make it work. I get a text at 7 am just like the last one, that the technician had an emergency but they have another tech who can come between 12-5. I called and said I could not do that because I had to work.They change me back to 8-12 time slot. Same technician as before arrives at 1:00. So I lose another day of work. Takes the water heater apart to replace the part then proceeds to tell me the tray underneath the part is rusty from the water and he can't guarantee it will work. (Why didn't he check this when he first came out?) Advises me to submit a revised diagnoses of the problem to American Home Shield. He tells me he doesn't get paid enough to deal with these types of jobs. When he leaves, he doesn't put the old water heater back together, leaves all the wires exposed and there's water leaking onto the wires. But wait! There's more. Now there's no water in my bathroom? It was all working this morning before the technician showed up. So I call and was told the manager could not be reached after hours and there was nothing they could do. Exposed wires and water is a fire hazard. Not having a shower ( even with just cold water) is a health hazard. I have notified American Home Shield and will be notifying the Better Business Bureau as well as the FTC. Beware of this company. Pretty sure the only positive reviews they have are from friends and family. Check them out on YELP. If I could give negative stars ratings I would. read more

At the moment they get a two star rating. Repair man came out on Friday to repair my upstairs unit. This unit was installed by Greenway in 2016. Parts were covered but was required pay labor fees for the repair. The next day I noticed the upstairs a little warm. It was only in the mid 70s so the unit should have no problem cooling off the upstairs. It is now Sunday and it is hot. Called the "emergency" line and left message but no return call. Tomorrow is Memorial day and I have family coming over and the upstairs is now going to be uncomfortable. I can only hope to get a call from their on-call person, but my gut tells me I will need to call again on Tuesday during business hours. read more

Do not use HomeServ by Greenway for appliance repair services. I've been trying for 2 months to get my washing machine repaired. The first technician misdiagnosed it twice. Both times he came to my home and said it was fixed. But when I ran the washer, the same problem still existed. So for the third service call I requested a different technician. A replacement timer was ordered, but the second technician returned to my home with the wrong part. Then the part was ordered a second time, and still a second wrong part was received. We are still waiting on that right part. I spoke with someone in customer service last week who promised me he would find out what was going on and call me back. I have not heard back from anyone a week after that promise. Along the way I've tried to speak with a service supervisor several times. I'm always told a supervisor is not available, they just walked out, they are at lunch, they haven't come in yet. It's been my experience that this company does not have qualified technicians, has poor parts inventory management, does not follow up with the customer and shows no accountability for completing the repair. Came to repair HVAC unit. Slightly annoying it was a 2 step process - first a tech came out to assess, then they sent their estimator/salesperson to walk through findings with me and try to upsell. Estimator/salesperson Linzey said he ordered a new compressor which would take 7-10 days and they would call when arrive (not ideal in the Memphis heat but I understand). I called them 11 days later to check on this - and they hadn't ordered the part!!! To add insult to injury, they are entirely unapologetic and the only person willing to speak with me to understand what is happening is the main person who answers the phone, not anyone who worked on my job to understand if there is some other kind of issue or what happened!! If I could give a minus 100 I would. I has a a/c guy come out thinking that my issues would be less than $500 deductible with American Home Sheild. My a/c guy found that the compressor had gone out and told me to contact AHS. Terrible customer services and they lie to us. Our home warranty company referred us to them. I had to call them after 24 hrs because they couldn't be bothered. They acted as if they never received the referral until I pressed them. Oh-I found it!! They assigned a technician to my home. They sent me a "email stating their technician was ill and they would need to reschedule in 5 more days. So they were able to have someone over in 36 hrs but now it's 5 more days in 100+ degree temps. Being a businessperson, I know that they make more $$ doing their own work vs. home warranty contract jobs. They are liars!!!! read more

Please save your time, energy, and sanity and CALL SOMEONE ELSE!!! Greenway came out to my home on 3/02/21 to look at my washing machine that was not working. The machine would not display any of the wash cycles and the door was locked so you could not open it. The technician told me at that time they would need to order a new control panel however they could not access the model and serial number due to the door being locked. Since this machine is a little over 2 years old I provided this information from my original receipt of purchase. He told me he would be able to order it and they would be back out to install it. It has now been almost 2 months and they still have not returned to my home and my washer is still broken. When I called Greenway they stated there was no part on order and they didn't have the model/serial # to order it which was completely ludicrous because this was already provided to them. The only solution they had was to send the same technician out again to attempt to open the door to the washing machine so we are literally starting the process all over I have been without a washing machine for two months and spending time and money to go to a laundry mat while they apparently decided to do nothing. This company has no respect for their customers seek service somewhere else. Good luck out there. read more

We had a technician come and install a clean out and other technician came out to jet our sink because it was super clogged. The second technician that came out was here not even for an hour and claimed that he got it unclogged. Not even an hour later our sink was still clogged. Technician did not do his job and charged us a lot. Not mention when he was doing the jet it backed up into our toilet and got dirt and mud all over the bathroom floor. Horrible. read more

I paid Greenway Home Services twice to fix a leaky faucet in my upstairs bathroom tub. Both times the technician failed to repair or identify the problem and eventually told me I needed to replace the entire system. I called Conway Services and the technician identified the problem and fixed the leak within 45mins. He was able to identify that the issue was the cartridge and that the cartridge he removed had not been replaced since the house was built meaning that Greenway didn't think to replace it or was able to identify it was bad. This is ridiculous that I had two pay this company full price twice just to not have my issue resolved and the technician knew it wasn't resolved both times he left. I called and was asked for my invoices and I explained that I am in the military and I am constanly moving around so I do not have those invoices, but I find it hard to belive that they do not have record of servicing my residence. No one even wanted to talk to me about my issue they just told me to email jenniferb@greenwayllc.com and she'll get back to me. Yeah right. Stay away from this company. read more
