Everyone who answered the phone or returned calls was courteous and helpful. We needed a new toilet with bidet seat for a disabled son. Is tomorrow ok for the tech to come out for a quote? Wow! Next day, Cabe arrives, no spiel but an honest assessment, good information, no BS. He was knowledgeable, friendly, had an easy humor. And he listened to us! Next week he installs the toilet and bidet, and on his way out I ask him to look at the faucets in the laundry area. They were pretty bad, and as I had already thought, should probably be replaced. Give me a quote, I say, and when he does I ask when he can do the work. Right now, he replies, pending clearance from the office. Clearance granted, he replaces the faucets with new quarter turn ones. Yes, he had to cut into the wall, and while he wasn't obliged to patch it up, he put it back together fairly well. Not long after that we called about a leaking shower. Again Cabe shows up. Replaces the cartridge, but while the leaking stops, the shower handle spins 360 and doesn't check the water from reaching scalding temperatures. But he doesn't support that brand of faucet. Nevertheless, he needs only a few parts - he actually hunts them down at the local big box store! When he leaves, we have a working shower that won't burn our son. He didn't have to do go to all this effort. But he demonstrated a concern for our son's needs. We were the focus of his attention. Excellent service and a real nice guy. Cabe was outstanding, a real gem. Trustworthy. He's like a good friend. I can't recommend Smith's highly enough.

Once or twice a year our plumbing gets stopped up and our clean out is on the side of the house. It's old but all plumbers have been able to access it. The same plumber they sent in May came today. He very dry and doesn't talk much which is fine but when he couldn't access the pipe he used curse words to describe his frustration. I'm frustrated too because I don't have any money and was scraping to come up with $300. He tells me I need $700 just to see what's going on. He was very rude. On the bright side I wasn't charged. They said they'd call 30 minutes before they came. They didn't call or show up. Phone number was disconnected when I called at 3:45. (That's what someone does to keep you from contacting them). Called late tonight they answered the phone told me Homeserve cancelled. All Homeserve had to say is they would look into it. Similar problem I had with the previous company they supposedly set up to do the job. Synder plumbing is in with Homeserve and these other companies to scam customers for monthly insurance premiums. They will be subpoenaed to civil court to testify and pay large fines in my complaint against Homeserve along with another plumbing company. Already hired a lawyer! Word to the wise!!! DON'T USE THEM!!!I would give them negative stars if they gave you the option!

None of this was done. They left a paper which after their trip charge etc. totaled over $200 with the recommendation that the faucet needed to be replaced, which is why they had been called to begin with. After calling their office I was asked if I would now like them to come out and replace the faucet. Do not make the mistake of using this company to be bilked for nothing!
