I had some extra roof tiles and he installed them and removed a lot of tree debris from my roof. It rained hard that night and not a drip got in to the house. My husband was referred to Ray at Discount Roofing from a friend at work. He called and Ray came by the house that very day. Not only was Ray one of the friendliest people I've met in the home improvement department, but he loves dogs and didn't mind my two fur children jumping all over him and wanting to play. He got points immediately for this, and it only went uphill from there. Ray disappeared for a while and about 45 minutes of inspecting later, came back into the house and fully informed me of the goings on of my roof issues. He had detailed photos on his digital camera as he explained what was going on up there. I'm a gal, and not going to pretend to know much about this stuff. What I do know is this, Ray fixed the leak into our attic free of charge. Yes, he just took it upon himself to nail it up, board it up- hell I don't know what the man did, but he fixed the freaking leak during an estimate free of charge. Unreal. He also explained two different options to repair the issues above the storage room. One of which cost $300 for material and labor and included a 3 year warranty. Something involving cement adhesive? The other option was to re-shingle the entire garage for $950 material and labor with a 15 year warranty. Though we haven't taken any measures yet to repair this leak (shame on us, yes I know)- we will be contacting Ray after the holidays to come and repair the leak above the storage room. I was extremely impressed by his professionalism and how friendly he was. The fact that he fixed the most important leak on his own, free of charge just blew us both away. You don't see customer service like that anymore.

Since then, I've had them come out on two occasions. the first was to repair a tree hit and they overcharged and now I am wondering if the work was really ever done. On my last issue, a warranty claim on their roof install, they have lied to me and lied to the shingle company. Their inspector noted that the flashing around the chimney (due to a caulking failure) is leaking and caused drywall and crown moulding damage. The report they gave to the shingle maker for the warranty claim blamed the brick and mortar of the chimney, causing my claim to be closed. My chimney is not leaking and their inspector noted that. They then lied to me when I questioned them stating that the shingle company considered flashing around a chimney to be part of the chimney. The truth Is that they reported the brick and mortar being the issue, not the flashing. I, thankfully, was able to re open the claim because another roofing company verified that the issue was due to the flashing installed by excellent roofing. Excellent has not acted trustworthy with me.

One thing I noticed after they were on the roof was just how quiet they were. I never heard yelling or loud music; just scraping and nail guns.
