My fiance has been up in the attic more in the last three weeks than he has been in the last four years of owning this home because of this AC unit. He used this company last year (2024) after his home warranty company denied his claim because the blower motor for his AC went out. The inspection and installation of a new furnace went smoothly and ended up with a $5k bill, but the AC worked again. So fast forward to when the evaporator coil started leaking water he called Opach again. First tech came out and said that my drain was not leveled. Said it was almost $500 to fix that. However, days later the system started to leak again with water running down the walls and through the ceiling. He called Opach again, the owner gave him some options, but also said he needed a larger emergency drain pain. Most of the options sounded like they would not fully fix the issue, so my fiance asked what the cost would be so it could fix the issue with the water leak completely and not have to worry about it in the near future. The man quoted him about $10k. My fiance wasn't expecting that cost, but he went with it thinking if it took care of the issue then that's the price he will pay. We left the AC off to avoid further water damage. The first crew came out took out my old evaporator coil and outside compressor and put in a new evaporator coil and compressor. Thinking everything was cool we went about our day, until we saw more water running down the walls and ceiling in his Son's room. My fiance went to the attic and everything they had installed was leaking (supply, and evaporator coil) and the drain from the coil was hanging down loose with some tape on it. The supply looked like someone had beat it with a hammer and one of the return ducts had been knocked down. He shut off the Ac and call them to come take a look and the original tech who fix the first leak saw there was an issue, apologized and sent out the same crew to fix the issue, also they sent a guy who we thought was going to patch the ceiling, but didn't he just painted over the water stains which just came back next day. The second time they came out to fix the leaks we asked them if everything was fixed now, they said it was. My fiance went up to the attic again and everything that was leaking before was leaking still. He called them back and told them again that we can't use this AC with it leaking, also the vent for the furnace was disconnected, so now we can't use that. They came out one last time and told my fiance that the drain from the evaporator coil was clogged and that was the cause of the supply and the evaporator coil leak problem. We, having dealt with all of this was skeptical, but hoping to be done with this got a plumber to come out (another $500 job) and snake the drain. The plumber didn't find any issues but noted that the drain from the emergency pan was bent upwards so the drain will never drain, also there are no sensors or anything to detect if the pan is full so unless my fiance monitors the AC constantly we will be dealing with worst water damage. The Tech from Opach came back out and said the water leaking from the supply and evaporator coil was still the fault of the drain being clogged and said they would be back out to fix the drain pan pipe and the exhaust vent. That was almost a week ago and haven't heard anything from them. I have been without a reliable air conditioner for almost a month now thanks to this. Also his son can't stay in his room because of the water damage from the HVAC unit in the attic. We are left with an AC that when it runs leaks water so to save our ceiling we have it turned off. We would not trust this company with anything in our home after this. After they got paid, we could tell they were looking for a way to place the blame on anything else. *Update* Weeks later, my fiance sent a rating for the company about the job and that's when we were contacted. The original team returned and were able to stop the water from leaking into our home, but the unit is still very much damaged and beat up, the ceiling in my fiance's son's room has not been patched liked promised, and our exhaust pipe is still disconnected. We were scammed, completely overcharged and given trash for an AC unit. At this time, all of this has cost us well over $12,000, and we have yet to contact someone to look into patching the ceiling and look into the extremities of the damaged all the water from that leak has caused. Before allowing this company into your home to "fix" anything, get a second opinion. read more

Wow! My brother and I are blown away by the excellent customer service provided by Opach's A/C & Heating Services. We couldn't be more pleased. Such a highly professional job they did. We scheduled the install for a new unit on August 17, 2021 and we were able to book the appointment for the next morning. The install techs came out promptly and immediately got to work. They were professional, very thorough and they worked quickly to install our new unit. It was hot in the house and these guys bore through it. They inspected all parts of our system. They did both an outdoor and indoor install. All new components. They also installed a very nice, wifi enabled, thermostat. They explained in detail how the system worked. They repeatedly asked if there were questions. I would also like to thank their tech Abayneh for being such a wonderful communicator. After they finished they made sure the unit was working properly and handed us the paperwork for the unit. The unit comes with a 10 yr warranty on parts and labor. I cant say enough good things about them. Spending your money with Opach's A/C & Heating company to repair or replace your A/C is definately, without a doubt, money well spent. Hired them to install and new a/c unit as part of a renovation we were doing. When we went to close out our permit we took out for the reno they told us Opachs had never closed out their permit. We reached out to them several times and were told at least 4 times that someone would get back with us and each time we called no one ever had any idea what we were talking about. So we can't close our permit which means we have to either pay someone else to come out and open a new permit and then close it in order to close our permit. We have been trying to resolve this for over a year and they did the work at least 2 years ago. I get that they don't want to be out of pocket and time to have to re-open their permit, but that's just not a great way to do business. read more

I tried him several years ago. I did not have a problem with my heating or A/C both worked fine, just wanted a maintenance program for both systems. He came and looked at both systems extensively. He said he charged my A/C system with seven pounds of freon, SEVEN POUNDS, which I later found out was a lie. My A/C system failed the next day. He said I needed to replace a coil at a cost of about $2000. I called another company that had it running in 5 minutes at a cost of less than $100. This other company said there was nothing wrong with my systems. The owner Oscar is a liar and a crook. I wouldn't trust him to walk my dog. read more

Good Morning Facebook please read this entire post and please share. I have lived in and worked in the memphis area For 30 years as a healthcare provider. I am also a business owner of real estate and investments. I met a young man who was also a comedian and a heat and air provider. I believe in supporting small businesses. I used him own a few small jobs and hired him to perform for an event that I had. Because of that he thanked me for other referrals he received from that performance. His business started to grow and he was able to do more advertising. I hired him for a bigger project to do a complete install of four units. He said vents were included. I paid him 10000 down which was half. Covid happened and construction slowed down. He completed the install but did not install Any vents. I'm a woman of my word 2 years had passed so I paid him the final payment of the 10000. This made a total of 20000. When I started back construction I called him just to ask if he could send a supervisor out just to check the units because we were having Problems . I made the mistake of calling Him on a Friday evening after 5 pm he started screaming at me like I was a kid I'm a businessman man don't call me after 5. He proceeded to tell me your warranty has expired anyway and hung the phone up in my face. I said well maybe he had a bad day so I called back on Monday morning at 0830 doing regular business hours . His secretary answered the phone. He told her to transfer me and proceeded to holler and screaming at me and said to much time has passed and my warranty was up. I told him we never got to use the units. He told me to talk to his secretary and hung the phone up. I spoke to the secretary and she booked an appointment and sent some one out to look at the units. I informed her also that I never received any vents from my complete install. The guys came out and looked measured the vents and told me there was water in the line and they could not do anything at the moment. I called back 2 weeks later and spoke to the secretary she said they were waiting on approval from Oscar for the vents. She also told me I owed a 103 dollars for them inspecting the units. I told her let's do this here is my credit card for a 103 dollars and just send me the vents . She never called me back with any approval or disaproval. I would call leave messages no return phone call. I call one time someone answered and hung the phone up in my face. I called today and another young lady answered said her name was Wanda and she had no notes of any of this. While I was on the phone she said I text Oscar and he said since the building passed inspection he don't owe me any thing . Can I buy my Own vents yes I will . I just don't appreciate the way the business matter Was handled. So disrespectfully talked to me like I was a kid. I'm sure mr Oscar you were raised better than that. I would not suggest this business. They have no line of communication between the technicians, office administrator and owner. The owner is unprofessional. I scheduled to have my furnace relocated and paid a deposit. The first day of the process, the owner came by with no material on hand and then left. Later in the day, he called to tell me that he would have to reschedule it because he didn't want his workers to work late on the day in which his administrator approved. In addition, he stated they didn't have the materials and tools needed that day. They offered to refund me my money (still waiting on the call from the owner). This delayed my entire renovation of my home. It's a mom and pops business that don't have the capacity to complete any complex task. As project manager, I would not depend on them to meet the timelines of your project. read more

I am giving Oscar Pruitt (Owner) and his crew the highest 5-star rating because... they earned it and they deserve it... Yesterday, after a power outage the day before, our A/C was acting up so I called our go-to HVAC company which has been OPACHS for the past 2+ years. Oscar came out within a few hours and confirmed what we had thought - a power surge from the MLGW power outage that triggered our whole-house generator "fried" several parts in our 10-year old A/C. Oscar explained the options - $2,000 + 'repair' or new install. We chose the new install because it's a more efficient system and covers additional things like a float valve in the attic and a surge protector outside that the previous company didn't advise or offer.... we got an 18-month Zero interest financing through OPACHS and now we are good to go again... We couldn't be happier than we are with Oscar, his company, and his crew... Professional !!! Knowledgeable !!! and GREAT 5-Star Customer service... We had Mr. Pruitt come and do an inspection on our heater for the winter. He rated it a C and told us some of the issues with it. We knew the unit was old both heating and air, so w asked him to quote us a price and it was very reasonable for a complete htg. and air installation. We scheduled it for a few days later. Jermain, Jordan and Brandon came to do the install. They were prompt, clean, the installation went off without a hitch and they explained the things we needed to know once they were done. They also took care of a side issue we had no charge. A couple of weeks later I had a question, I called the office and they had the lead tech Jermaine to give me a call and he answered it to my satisfaction. I want you guys to be careful dealing with this company I hired them to do air conditioning heating install. We agreed upon a 3 ton heating and air-conditioning unit when I say upon hiring these guys you need to be careful after we agree upon a 3 ton heating unit an air conditioning unit for my house, they decided to install a smaller unit that doesn't support the square footage of my property, it's been horrible dealing with these people, because there are so unprofessional after the small unit was installed. These guys was showing up at my property without calling riding past the house back and forth Throughout the day I have cameras on my house, so I was wondering why are these people constantly showing up at my property without me being there or giving me a heads up or telephone call advising me that they was on their way. It made me feel like after I paid them for an install, they was trying to come by my property to steal the unit that I just purchased from them be careful when dealing with these people because they're so unprofessional and there are not trust worthy. I had to go behind this guy to make sure that he pulled permits for doing this job. I never experience anything like this. When I called Code Enforcement, I was advised that there was no permit pulled for doing the heating and air-conditioning install. I explain to them upon hiring them to do the job that permits need to be polled, so once Code Enforcement told me that they haven't pulled a permit to do the job. My trust went out the window dealing with them because he was trying to install the air conditioning and heating unit without being responsible just in case if my house caught fire, no track record to prove that he installed this heating and air-conditioning unit. also, these guys was going inside my refrigerator unplugged my security system. They do not clean up behind themselves, I took a loss so you wouldn't have to, after looking at these commercials that this company advertise I thought I was dealing with some professionals, but this is not the case. This company helped get our office back in shape! The last company had left vents disconnected, and charged us for services that were constantly needing repair after they "fixed" problems. Opach's got us back in working condition, and went above and beyond to try and repair what had been done by the last company. I would recommend this company to anyone in the Memphis area. read more

The most recent response from this company is completely inaccurate. The room was painted with a special decorative process called "faux painting," making the finish replicate the appearance of wallpaper. The owner previously categorized the repair as a "small" scratch. Regardless of the size, his employee caused the damage and Opachs is responsible for repairing that damage. We both contacted the person who initially completed this job when the home was built. The person never agreed to due the repairs and there was never a scheduled repair date. My calls to this person were unanswered and I never received a response. Afterwards, the owner did have 2 individuals to look at the area needing to be repaired, they were not comfortable with attempting to match the special paint process. The owner indicated he would continue to look for someone who could do the work. To date, I have not been contacted by the owner with a resolution to this issue, or the others previously identified. The owner indicates that I refuse to take his calls, this is totally false! There was/is a total lack of integrity and accountability with Opachs and to suggest something otherwise is not honest or forthright. I take no pleasure in writing a negative review about this, or any company; however, I expect companies to provide quality service and stand by their work without exception. read more

I always call Opachs for my air conditioning and water heater needs. A few years ago. I my air conditioner died and I had two separate companies look at it. The first company tried to fix it and it died a few days later. They came to look at it again but same thing occurred. I called Opachs to get a second opinion.
