Last week we collected bids from several contractors dealing in Trane, Carrier, and a few other brands, and we ended up going with Larkins because they quoted a more efficient system for the price than the other guys. Plus our neighbor had used them for her AC replacement a couple of years ago and said she was happy with the work they did. They told us they'd be here at 9am today for the install. 2 vans and a pickup rolled up at 8:45 with a crew of 4 guys, and they had the old AC and furnace disassembled and in the bed of the pickup by 9:15. One guy was on the front lawn assembling pieces of the new unit, while 2 others ran those bits up to the attic and stuck them all together. The 4th guy was installing a 2nd intake in the master and running a new duct for that. I left at 11:30 to run some errands, and by noon my husband called and said "yeah they're done, they're checking everything now to make sure it works so they'll be gone when you get back." I said "How is that possible? The other people said they needed 2 days." Neither one of us could believe how fast they got it up and running - 4hrs compared to 2 days? That is unreal. I got back home around 1pm and the hubs told me he's already broken the new thermostat, and Larkins was on their way back out to fix it. They were in and out in 10mins and didn't charge us to come back out again. They were friendly, professional, moderately priced in comparison to others, reliable, and FAST. They didn't try to upsell us on things we didn't need and there wasn't any BSing. I recommend them highly if anyone needs a reliable HVAC company.
