In Spring 2018, HWS Air & Heat (Jake), installed a brand new HVAC Air Conditioner & Heater System. Jake never turned ON the gas valves, so when it got cold in the winter, we couldn't get the heater to work. It took a $75 service fee for a different company to point this out! We were told the system was not installed to code (old drip pan and condensation drain - never upgraded to code). When HWS Air & Heat came out in the winter to rectify their mistake, Adrian left the "disconnect switch" at the air handler location inverted (meaning no cold a/c). So in May 2019 (one year after install), the a/c would only blow ambient air. Another $75 service fee for a different company to point out all that needed to be done is turn on the "disconnect switch". From winter to spring 2019, only ambient air came out of the a/c unit (we didn't know it was warm because it's upstairs where our children used to live, but they're married now and in their own homes). When they visited, they told us it was hot all night up there. That was 120 days with no cooling, therefore no condensation; algae formed in that time. When the "disconnect switch" was turned back ON, condensation started again, but the 120 days of algae buildup (ripe for building up algae due to the condensation line not having a constant flow of water during this 120 days, algae began to grow where the moisture clings to the inside of the line) and thus created a blockage (we don't go upstairs usually at all, so we weren't to know cold air wasn't blowing up there), but condensation built up over 3 days after the a/c was turned back ON, and it could not properly drain and it backed up the upstairs sink basins flooding badly, and through the downstairs ceiling. It cost me $425 just to install a "clean-out" to code & regulation. Why didn't HWS Air & Heat ensure this HVAC installation was brought up to code when they did the new install? All this occurred because of the incompetence of HWS Air & Heat. I still have a lot of damage to reconcile ($1000's), and I don't count on them to make us "whole" again. Buyer beware!!! read more
