They told me it did not need the extra…read morehalf ton, but did not explain that it would cause the problems it has caused ( high humidity, insufficient sized ducting, short cycling of the heater in cold weather, etc. etc. etc.). Now, I have a system that will wear out prematurely and does a terrible job at maintaining a comfortable home. When I asked them to give me a reasonable accomodation on pricing for a replacement system they did not bother to do that, but they did offer to sell me a whole home dehumidifier to reduce the high humidity levels in my house caused by the wrong sized system they installed. I was a senior senior citizen when they sold me the oversized system. I am told that the AG's office in Austin would be very interested, but I do not want to cause them that kind of problem. So. I am just stuck it seems. Be careful. They will sell you what you ask for whether it is technically correct for your home or not. Service requested: They gave me what I asked for. Quality: I got the Amana brand. Value: Wrong system for my home. Where's the value in that ?

Besides that what impressed me the most about them was Jay took the time to explain everything to me and as a woman never having to deal with this situation before he made me feel really comfortable with their company. His sons were very respectful and you could tell they cared about the job they were doing. They all worked very hard to get it installed quickly and cleaned up after themselves upon completion. They have since followed up to ensure everything was working properly. They really exceeded my expectations. My family and I couldn't be happier with our new A/C unit!

Recently we had to replace two A/C units, man we were so worried that it was going to break the bank because of all the new updates. So we called our friends and had them come out to check it out. Our A/C had been completely out, and they can out really fast to help us with a quote! We were thrilled that they were affordable and that we were also able to use our friends for this service. You never know these days who is giving you a quote for service and whether or not they are being fair, so we were so excited that our friends were able to help us out! I highly recommend them if you need an A/C unit or repair service, they have been in business for a long time and are a family owned business located in Humble, but they work all over the area.

H&L Air and Heat surpasses each company I have used in every category. They are very professional. When your AC is not functioning properly at 1:00 AM, you can leave a message, and they respond first thing the next morning! They are also very knowledgeable and I have learned so much from them. They want you to understand how the systems work so you can get maximum efficiency out of each unit. My beach house used to be serviced by a different company out of Friendswood. They were just OK, and they would get it working, but always wanted you to buy a new one. I did that several years ago and then just recently they wanted to put in another one! I called H&L and Hector had Hosea there almost before I could get there! The unit needed a couple of little things, so much for the new sales job! My AC is great, and I keep the house between 71 and 73! My Electric Bill is never over 200 with Hector and Hosea at the helm! Their prices are very reasonable! They are very kind, supportive, and honest! These are good people who will treat you so well, AC repair is not a concern anymore!!

They wanted to dig it up and put down a 2 inch pad the would have caused the condenser getting mud and crap in unit every time it rained. They charged me $379.00 for the pad and I could get one just like it off Amazon for $50.00. They also left my thermostat wire exposed outside to the elements and did not seal the refrigerant lines going into house leaving opening for ants and other bugs to get into house. They ended up putting their pad on top of my good pad just so the could charge me. I would not recommend them. I think they con folks.

This is the email I sent to S Home Services…read more Last Wednesday evening I had your tech Alfredo come by to check out my AC unit that had died. He said I needed a new capacitor so I told him to go ahead and install. Right after he left, it stopped working and I called him. He came by the next morning and told me my unit was overheating and I needed a new unit. I called my cousin who has a friend in the business and he had his friend come by and take a look at it. He said the capacitor was the wrong size and he changed it. He then checked my air filter which was filthy and told me that was the source of the overheating. He took out the filter and I picked up a new one that evening and everything has been working great since. I have attached the invoice. This is my second request for a refund. I did the first one thru the website and never got a response. I am asking nicely even though I feel I was trying to be taken advantage of. Otherwise, I will be forced to go to Angie's List which is where I found you guys and on Yelp. I would appreciate your quick attention to this matter. Their response was that it was a he said, she said situation and decided not to refund my money even though they didn't fix anything.
