This is my all time favorite dish from here is Greek salad! It is so filling yet not heavy. It has cucumbers, Greek olives, Red onions & Bell peppers. You can choose any dressing but I like vinaigrette. The chicken is extra but well worth it. This dish also comes with a muffin, they have a plethora of muffins lol. If you can try to eat at the restaurant because they chimp out on the size of this $20 takeout but it still keep me satisfied all day. read more

I definitely didn't expect what I saw when my girlfriend took me for my first visit to the Greenery. It's inside a mall (Sunland Park Mall), so I didn't expect the decor to be as nice and contemporary as I saw. Very modern with a great color scheme and a good layout. The wait staff was very friendly as well. They also have a very cool market next door that has a good wine selection, as well as a great beer selection. I ordered the ham and pork loin cubanito with beer battered fries which was quite tasty. It was served on a homemade cibatta roll with guacamole, caramelized onions and a black bean tapenade. The fries were crispy and not super greasy, so I appreciated that. She ordered the Southwestern turkey sandwich with fresh fruit. Very tasty. The turkey was served on homemade jalapeno-cheese bread with tomatoes, green chilies, Monterrey jack and avocado. For dessert we split a piece of carrot cake that was delicious. It had cream cheese filling, pecans and cinnamon caramel. It also came with a pecan sandie type cookie which added to the dish. The Greenery can be a little pricey considering the smaller portion size, but you get good quality food so it's worth the cost. read more

Well...we came here for a pre-ride dinner this past weekend. Let me just say that if I never come back here, my life won't be any the less for it. The food was cafeteria-esk at best. Our personal pizza was not cooked at all - the dough was still pale and moist to the touch ( that's raw for the non-bakers reading this). The chicken pesto tasted like parsley. Odd. There was also only 7 of us on three separate checks. The server added the gratuity. I've always hated that. I waited tables when I was younger and we never did that - just rolled the dice so to speak and it always worked out better. I don't know...just me talking I guess. THEY ADD SUGAR TO EVERYTHING!!! The waiting staff were ok, however, we noticed they add sugar to several plates, especially pizza. It is almost unthinkable that something as iconic as this italian dish could be ruined in this way. The marinara was awfully sweet and many dishes came out sweet as well. No wonder why we would feel sluggish after eating there. This is a disgusting way of attempting to increase sales, like McDonald's often do. Sugar is extremely toxic and dangerous if diabetic people are nor warned. Their meals are making you fatter and fatter the more you consume them. The host and hostess are kind of psychos and about to snap, they get mad if you don't accept the table they choose for you. Most of the employees need customer training. It used to be one of our favorite places, now we will have to choose between getting fat or avoiding diabetes. Lastly, salmon is always, always served raw or burned and served in reduced portions, steaks and hamburgers are never on point. I had the french onion soup. I was served hot, that is good. But it was very think with a heavy after taste, nether beefy or oniony. They used Swiss cheese, it is seldom used on onion soup. There are good reasons not to, 1 a well aged Swiss will get oily, 2 after heating it becomes chunky in the mouth rather then remaining silky, 3 Swiss has a strong taste and can fight the soup fir dominance. I went to the greenery for lunch today. I ordered a blueberry muffin and a coffee for starters. My muffin was raw. The brought out another one and it was under cooked as well. After lunch I went to the rest room and left my card to pay. The waitress was told.that I was in the restroom and I would be back. They asked her to bring more cream for my coffee. Long story short they gave my table to someone else and threw my coffee away. This is unacceptable service. read more

A gem of a restaurant, unfortunately Burris's in a dead mall. Coworker and I stopped in yesterday for a healthy lunch. Grilled veggie panini was my choice. Zucchini, squash peppers portobello mushrooms all on a warm panini. Stuffed with veggies that made it difficult to even take a bite. Sandwich was excellent, full of flavor. Didn't even feel like I was missing the meat. Sweet potato fries on the side were good as well. Then topped off the meal with a carrot spice muffin. Not too sweet at all. The huli huli chicken wings are out of this world. I tried the yucca fries for the first time. They were tasty and done perfectly. Similar to potato fries yet a smoother texture. They have a light crispy batter. It came pared with a chipotle aioli. I highly recommend it. Their French onion soup is the best in town. I am so happy to have ate at The Greenery. It's refreshing to see places in El Paso that are concentrating on providing healthy organic meals for a largely unhealthy community. The ambience is pleasant with lower lighting and beautiful art on the wall. My mother and I arrived around 1:00 for lunch and were welcomed and sat quickly. Lunch was the butternut squash and quinoa salad with the addition of chicken and it was soooooooo damn good! The portion was large enough that I brought the remainder of the salad home for dinner. We actually just came here in the past week for a Yelp elite event but we were so impressed and satisfied with our experience that we decided to come back this weekend even though we live way across town. This place has been completely overhauled just FYI for anybody who came in the past! It's under new management I beleive and it's been totally remodeled so everything is fresh and new! Now for our meal : We started off with the blue moon and Sam Adam's lager on tap to sip, and water to drink. We each ordered burgers with the amazing vegan option, tge"beyond burger" patty. It is so close to meat you honestly can't believe its not real. I chose the grilled eggplant bun burger with avocado and vegan patty and side sweet potatoe fries, and my husband ordered the Sante fe burger {with vegan patty of course) with regular fries. The patty of the burger was amazing and the styles of each were delicious. The grilled eggplant bun isn't on the menu, just the breaded one but since I don't eat wheat they accomadating my allergy and made a delicious grilled eggplant "bun" for my burger. My fries were super crisp, and my husband loved his as well. The whole menu is great for vegetarian, vegan, meat eaters, and even gluten free! They have so many options and the chefs prepare every thing fresh and so willing to accommodate whatever your heart and stomach desires. We had amazing food, great service and despite the long drive for us we will be going anytime we want to celebrate with a really good meal. We finished the meal with a bakery cannoli and decaf coffee. Left feeling full and happy. 5+ stars to this place and the remodel has made it even nicer! read more

I do think things have improved since my last post. I had the salpicon and it was very good. Nicely spiced and good quality of brisket meat. Plenty of romaine lettuce and other nice veggies. They have updated the interior and it is coming back to what it was. I do wish them well as I am starting to fear for the mall. read more

I love this restaurant. I have eaten here the last 5 times I've visited ELP and it hasn't ever let me down. My favorite two dishes are the vegetarian green chile and cheese tamales and the Southwestern style Fettuccini Alfredo. Their baked goods are a nice finishing touch to any meal. The scones are out of this world and I am always excited to hear what the daily offerings/specials are. This place just warms me from the inside out. Whether I'm eating in the restaurant or having take out, the food has always been fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. I don't know why the overall score for this place isn't higher, but I highly recommend it if you've never been. It is in an odd location - a mall...but the signs make it very easy to locate from the street and the parking lot. read more

After years of not really knowing if this restaurant was still open. I was pleasantly surprised it's still standing! Thank goodness! I'm so tired of being disappointed by El Paso restaurants. The food & service was exceptional. My daughter is a picky eater and they were able to cater to her. The Fruit bowl and their buttery crunchy bread was fresh and delicious. My husband ordered the Penne Jerusalem, wow! He shared a taste with me and it was amazing. I ordered the Southwestern Fettuccine Alfredo which came with green-chile. I was curious and was so happy I chose this plate because it was the best meal I've had in a long time that was from a restaurant. The seating is comfortable and it shows they've remolded! Really great restaurant for the middle of a mall! We sat in a booth at the back near the kitchen, and shared a small arugula salad (very good). My dinnermate took advantage of the sushi available only on weekends, and the custom avocado-cucumber-cream cheese roll was excellent. I stole some of the extra avocado on the side for my salmon burger, which was okay, but very dry on a whole wheat bun, so I also added some more of the chipotle-lime glaze/dressing, which helped. NO QUALITY CONTROL - FIRST DAY i went and had a garden pita with grilled veggies (which the garden pita is suppose to have fresh vegetables not cooked as per the menu) and some very good french fries. Following day (SECOND DAY) I ordered a garden pita with french fries. The garden pita was served with a veggie patty which I did not like! THe staff made no attempt to correct the discrepancy between the pita I ordered the first day and the pita I ordered the second day. My friend also ordered the garden pita however they only had two left so she ordered the green chile cheese tamales and instead they brought her the green chile enchilades without telling her they were out of the tamales too. The following week (THIRD DAY) i decided to order the french fries only, TO GO as this seemed to be the only consistent item we had ordered so far. What I got was a mix of two orders of burnt, soggy and salty french fires. In no way did they resemble the french fries i ordered at the restaurant a week before. On my drive back after opening the french fries to eat and discovered the nasty food I had been given I decided to contact the manager by phone. i tried to explain that there was no quality control at the restaurant. Each time i ordered the same thing at the restaurant it was different every single time! His reply to the whole fiasco was "he was personally there when the french fries were made and they were the same french fries that were made the week before." He chose to ignore the comments of his customers and would rather sell burnt, soggy, and salty french fries than fix the problem or provided a solution that compensated my time and personal dissatisfaction with the food! Personally I would NOT RECOMMEND this place they have no integrity or quality or consistency of service or in the food they provide to their customers! read more

I love the greenery! It has a great selection for everyone! I come here for the chicken salad sandwich which is the best one I have ever tried... I love the salty sweet mix in this sandwich! I have also tried the salpicon and it's also amazing, they serve you a lot so come prepared! I just visited the restaurant for the first time today. I can say the ambiance was really good, and the place looked very nice, the waitress named Denisse was excellent. The 2 mayors complain I have is in the kitchen and the floor manager. They serve raw chicken to my wife; the plate was corrected but my wife by them lost her appetite by then. I never saw the manager going around to check on all the guests, for being a pricey restaurant I would expect to have at least a floor manager checking on the gests as other restaurants I have visited. read more

The Greenery has really been impressing me since I've been back. Pretty much everything I have had has been good. The salads are fresh, as you would expect from a place called the Greenery. However, I was really sold on the French Onion Soup Au Gratin. The broth is SO savory, it's fantastic! I eat here a lot with my mom and sis, but just went for a girls' night out. I now know this place is great for lunch or dinner. The salpicon is really good, but it's spicy for me. My absolute favorite dish is the half sandwich soup combo with the french onion and tuna sandwich. I prefer the coleslaw to the potato salad. OH! Do not get the fruity tea unless you like kool aid. It's ok when cut in half with water, but it kind of tastes like a popsicle, even though it isn't sweetened. The regular tea is good. I had the chicken jeruselem pasta. I must say I loved everything but the chicken. I'm just going to make it a vegetarian dish next time. It was so good I just simply didn't need the chicken in it. Plus I just like mushrooms much more than I like chicken. Try the orange cranberry muffin! read more

Believe it or not, this was my first time at this El Paso staple. My friend insisted that we go because it was so amazing. For some reason, I had always pictured it as out of my reach. We got there kind of late, closer to 9pm, with the kitchen closing at 10pm. Our server, Jacqueline, was basically the bomb. She really made the experience for both of us. She was patient with us and gave us all the time we needed to catch up with each other before we even opened the menu. She gave a great wine recommendation for my friend. We politely asked her if we could have the pitcher of water, because we were so thirsty. She took our order and without making a big scene, she left the pitcher on our table. This year, the Greenery is celebrating 30 years, and they've brought back their retro menu. One item from that retro menu will be $4.95 every day. It sounded good to me, so I went ahead and ordered The Matador. It was flavorful and fresh. The side salad was also tasty. We also opted for dessert. I got "Jackie's Bread Pudding" (I wonder why :P) and my friend got something that wasn't on the menu that my "tocaya" recommended. The bread pudding was phenomenal, so good, and I really don't enjoy bread pudding. Overall, the service is what bumped this place up a star, because while the food was good, it wasn't out of this world. I will come back and hope for good service and even better food. read more

Considering that nothing else is open early on Sundays in El Paso, Greenery is a pretty good option for breakfast/brunch (or "blunch" as they refer to it on their menu). I'm not a native, but my boo is and he confirmed that most businesses don't open until noon or after, if at all. The food is well prepared, fresh, and a nice lighter alternative to some of the heavy meals I had during my short trip (think lots of pan dulce and tortillas). I had one of the "blunch" specials - The Classic - which is just two eggs, with a choice of meat, hash browns, toast, and fresh fruit. Good and a perfect portion. I had the chicken apple sausage with my eggs and it had a great balance of salt to sweet. The menu was nothing too out of the ordinary, but there seems to be a decent variety of American, Italian, French, and some Latin dishes in there. Service could be a little better. Our server got our order right, but attention was at the bare minimum. Overall, an ok dining experience. I'll probably keep this on my list of dining options the next time I'm in EP. read more

The ambiance is great! Perfect date spot, catching up with friends or quiet dining alone. They have several vegan and vegetarian options, including a vegan soup. Those are hard to find! I got the Roma Spaghettini - it was amazing! Definitely better than I could make at home. They must cook it with a burgundy wine, the sauce had a great smokey flavor that earned this review an extra star. The service was attentive, even possibly overattentive. Several people were interested in refilling our drinks. Our waiter was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. I'll definitely be back to try something else on the varied menu, or I'll get the spaghettini again. So good! read more

MEH. If you are a Junior Leaguer or the wife of a doctor or lawyer this fancy boutique eatery is for you. It's quiet with pleasant background music making it perfect for a nice little group ladies chat. The food is only fair but the menu does offer a nice alternative to most lunch places in El Paso. So sad that the deli grocery is no longer there. Gluten free bakery items are a plus. Very over priced for what you get. My seafood crepes($15) were very bland. I still don't remember finding any seafood. The tiny slice of quiche my wife received ($14) should have been larger or with sides and breads. It's been five or six years since we last visited the Greenery and will likely be that long before our next visit. read more

The greenery!! My family and I make the drive to the greenery from las cruces a few times a month probably- that's how much we enjoy it. All of their menus are fresh and tasty and I have enjoyed every meal I've ordered. For breakfast I tried the omelet with bacon, chile, mushrooms, cheddar cheese and it was great- very cheesy. I always get the zucchini muffin it's by far my favorite- so unique and not too sweet but oh so delicious. I could honestly just eat the muffins here and be happy. I've tried other muffins such as blueberry and I think I had a pumpkin and they are all splendid but I found that the zucchini makes me the happiest! I've also tried the nachos and enchiladas here for lunch and again they were very good. The nachos were pretty big and I could have actually shared the plate as I had to take more than half home which I didn't mind the leftovers at all. The burger here is also a good go to if you're unsure of what to order and always add the green chile! Service is always great and the wait staff has always been friendly and accommodating and is always checking on us to make sure we have what we need.
