I had a terrible experience with this dry cleaner! I took my dress in to adjust the hem, and when I picked it up, it was still too long. I went back to the store, hoping they'd fix it, and instead of taking responsibility, the staff stated that I had changed my mind and insisted that the hem was the length I requested. The hem sat 2 inches past my shoes and dragged on the floor. I was unable to walk without tripping. The seamstress refused to fix the length of the hem unless I agreed with her that I had "changed my mind and said I was sorry." I've never been treated so rudely by a business. They failed to do the job right, and the customer service was appalling. I felt they were very disrespectful and implied that I was a liar. I will never return. read more

I recently went here to get four items hemmed - two pairs of jeans, one pair of pants, and one dress. The person who helped me, who I assume is the owner, was very knowledgeable and friendly. She helped me decide the length of the hem as I stood in front of the mirror for each piece, asking me what kind of shoes I would wear with the pants and etc. When I picked up my alterations a week later, I was so happy with how everything turned out - everything was perfect!! When I dropped the dress off the lady Kim reccomended hemming and didn't tell me the hemming on a bridesmaid dress was going to cost $98 and added on a "steaming fee" of $15. In the end I ended up paying $140 for alterations which was double what I paid for the dress. Fast forward to the wedding day and I put on the dress the split was sewn up inside out. It's been a nightmare trying to get my money back from them they did a poor job. When she quoted me $20 for the alterations I refered the other bridesmaids /bride to bring their dresses to her because I thought she was reasonably priced and she overcharged the too. I have been to this dry cleaners twice now and the first time I was quoted a cost that was lower than the price I paid when I came to pick up. I let it go the first time. This second time I came in for alterations and dry clean and was quoted $65 and when I came to pick up I was charged $91 with no explanation of this jump and my ticket that said it was $65 was thrown away. When confronted, they insisted it was the same ticket as the one just rung up. It's a dishonest and distasteful practice more than anything. read more

In response to the last comment by M.M - the cleaners moved behind Starbucks in the same shopping center. The notice was posted for 2 months prior to the move. My husband and I have been coming here since 2018 and we've had nothing but good experience. They were very accommodating when we had a last minute emergency rush dry cleaning for a trip. Dishonest business. I needed to hem two uniform pants and was quoted $13. I put them on, the lady put the pins in and we decided on a pant length. When it was time to check out, she said "tomorrow at noon" and then handed me a bill for $40, $14 more than what I was quoted. She looked at me and said "lining". Ok. But at no point in the dressing room or prior to printing the bill did she notify me it would cost more as a result. The proper thing to do is say, with lining the hem will be $20 per pant and then give me the option to say yes or no. I even spoke with the male owner/manager and he just laughed. I have been going to Greenbriar cleaners for over 4 years now. This is the second dry cleaners to touch my clothes since moving to the area almost five years ago. The first cleaners wanted you to pay upfront which makes no sense to me. These ladies have always been personable, greeted me with a smile and have been consistently pleasant. I have not had any real issues with their work and if and when I did, they apologized and did everything they could to make it right without extra cost to me. They have even tailored shirts and fixed broken buttons me. - Location is good - just around the corner from me. One star is even too much for this place. The owner's wife, a slender 5'2" Asian lady, handles the front of house--worst decision ever. She does not know how to interact with her customers and I was appalled by her demeanor. You would think someone who is in the business of SERVICE would have proper ettiequte and decorum. I dropped off several items resulting in a costly bill. This lady did not give me a chance to show her the stains that needed extra attention during cleaning assuring me they know what they are doing and I will be happy with their work. Needless to say, upon pick up two items remained behind for further cleaning: a long wool coat and dress--no problem, it's understandable; sometimes you miss things. Second pick up: the dress was fine but there were clear and obvious stains on the coat. Now I'm not an expert in dry cleaning but I do have an idea when a spot has been dealt with properly. There were three clear places that were not touched and were thus very noticeable. This lady argued with me in the most unexpected way imaginable!!! She went on and on about how they worked so hard on this but the stains just didn't want to come out and the material is just too stubborn for them to handle. I wish I was kidding when I say that she went on for a good 3 minutes of excuses and reasons while yelling and waving her arms around frantically. I tried to calm her down to remind her that I was paying for their service and that I in no way was doubting what she was saying but that I simply wanted it cleaned. I also asked her to lower her voice with me and to remember that I am her customer and do not appreciate her treatment--she said that her voice just goes up to yelling when she's talking. (This is unacceptable; if you're in service, you need to LEARN how to conduct yourself in your business.) I'm really not upset that I spent $25 for this coat to be cleaned or that it wasn't cleaned right at all but of how her demeanor was with me. Frankly, if I didn't yell or give her attitude, then I do not feel I deserved that sort of treatment. UNACCEPTABLE. I recommend going elsewhere. There are plenty of other places available with far better service and rates. read more

I like dropping off my dry cleaning here because the location is convenient and I don't have to worry about too much traffic. The women at the counter are very friendly and greet you when you walk in. Prices are okay, I think the other place down route 50 toward South Riding (I forget the name) is a little cheaper, but they are cash or check only, and as another yelper mentioned, they typically ask you to pay upfront although you can also pay at pick-up. Last time I came, I had so much going on that I left my clothes there for the longest time. Maybe 3+ weeks. I called after the 3rd week to let the lady know that I hadn't forgotten about the clothes, and asked her if I could come pick up the following week, she says, "of course!". I forgot again (had just come back from vacation) and went to pick up the clothes the following week, had absolutely no issues, and was greeted with smiles. I also dropped off some boots that needed some TLC on the soles and were done beautifully. My total was about $45 including 3 dress pants, 2 blazers, and the boots. read more

I would not recommend this cleaners for alterations. I picked my bridesmaid dress up for alterations and it had dark, marker looking, marks all around the bottom. I had gone to another place before coming here, to see about pricing for alterations. The woman at the other place made white chalk marks where she would alter. The people at Greenbriar cut the dress above the white chalk marks from the other place, so they were cut off. Greenbriar offered to wash the marks off but I was too afraid they would ruin the dress and I need it for a wedding next week. Instead, I just took the dress as is. I then got a call from Greenbriar after I picked up my dress saying that the other place made the marks and they did not. I can assure you that the marks were not there from the other place and that Greenbriar did make the marks that are currently on my dress. I definitely would not recommend. read more

Great for alterations (over the years they've done formal dresses, bridesmaid dresses, skirts, pants, and jeans for me) - never had any problems, always been happy with the quality though the changing area is pretty shabby. I don't use them for dry cleaning anymore - strapless dresses seem to be sent off-site, and they come back with thick pins through the dress to secure it to the hanger despite the strings for hanging and securing a garment dangling right inside the dress. My mom uses them for her dry- clean separates, but stopped sending "regular" laundry (sweaters that are done on-site) there because of the fragrance. Apparently customers want the smell so they know it's been cleaned, but if you have problems with scents, avoid this type of service. The smell from her sweaters transfers to the dry-cleaned clothing in the same bag, and then she's stuck trying to air out her dry-clean only work pants to get the smell out. read more

The new people are not honest; they charge more than what they tell people the cost would be at the time of dropping off the clothes claiming that extra service was needed.
