Just dropped off my wedding dress to this cleaners located next to Dunkin' Donuts. The owner is a Korean man, who is very kind! He specializes in cleaning wedding dresses, which makes me feel more at ease to leave my beautiful gown with him. He told me my dress would be ready in a week! How quick! The cost was $120, plus the box for long term storage was $40. I find that the rate is great and cheaper than other options. I will report back next week on the quality! read more

Fair Lakes cleaners is a fantastic establishment. The owner couldn't be more courteous or professional. I give my 1000/10 endorsement. Ps. I know Jason J. and he doesn't donate to charity. He ordered the last ice cream in front of my 7yr old and ate it in front of him with no remorse. He's a curmudgeony old fart. read more

Disregard Jason's comment below. It should be his first and last time leaving a review. The 40-50 year old Korean guy is very friendly and does a great job with my suits. Highly recommend this place. read more

My first review and comments, ever... This used to be my regular go-to cleaners, but the owner (40-50yo Korean guy) has become mean and rude. Don't know what changed, and for the most part I have a thick skin, but why support this place when there are literally dozens other like it and without the attitude? read more

$5 a shirt, "heavy starch" requested and what I got was something I could have done at home with a washer and an iron. NO creases and little starch. Oh yeah and they're disgustingly overpriced. The owner is kinda nasty too. There are cleaners every 10 feet in NOVA. I found another. It took five minutes. read more

Best dry cleaners I've ever used. Went here for four years while I lived in the neighborhood. Never once was something late or cleaned incorrectly through hundreds of shirts and and dozens of suit cleanings. Friendliest and most awesome staff! read more

Very poor Customer service and unprofessional people working, I had my clothes washed at this place and they messed up Two of my shirts with Iron, and made me paid $52 and while I was talking to with owner he said that ISNOT our mistake you gave them to us like that, I have been going their several years but last experience I had I won't recommend anyone to handle with them because they are not honest and Not a pro business handlers. read more

I am not sure what has happened to this business. They now charge if you have your shirt buttoned, prices have doubled since pre pandemic and the guy has a terrible attitude. Even thought this is very close to my home, so will need to find someplace new. read more

The owner tried to rip me off. I paid $109 for alterations which they screwed up. I asked to have 4 shits ironed and he charged me $20, so I said let's do dry cleaning instead since it's $2.5 a shirt. All of a sudden he jacked up the dry-cleaning price on the fly from $2.5 to $5 and claimed that it would cost the same. He is very rude also... read more

New owners for several months so be careful in assessing based on overall recommendations - former owners probably had the best dry cleaning operation. Several problems over the last few months and finally last straw is they lost an entire order of shirts (6). No apology or effort to make any reimbursement. Taking our family dry cleaning business (over 5yrs) elsewhere read more

Rude! Charges new customers more . Yells at people for asking why people pay half the price . Told me sewing and alterations aren't worth their time .I'm so glad I never have to go back because there a re good business very close by. read more

It is very unfortunate to write this review, despite the owner's being Korean. Quality of Alternations: They completely botched my dress pants when I asked them to hem the pants. I strongly but respectfully informed them the hemming looked as though a 5th grader completed the alteration. As they strongly insisted it was good quality work, I just respectfully accepted the pants in the horrible condition it was in. Dry Cleaning Products Used Is VERY Poor: I should have stopped coming after the first month but given I work very demanding hours and it was so close by, I used to do all my dry cleaning here. What a MISTAKE! I truly believe the materials they use to dry clean customers' clothes are "recycled" over & over & over again several times as my clothes always had a bad stench. This makes me come to the conclusion the solvents they use are very cheap. I mean, if I'm paying money to get my clothes clean, one would expect it to be (1) clean, (2) pressed and (3) not SMELLY! And it's sad to say, the service and quality of their dry cleaning is the same and sub-par. *** SLIGHT UPDATE BELOW *** The owner's son has reached out to me several times to (1) validate my account and that I was a previous customer (unfortunately, his tactics were a bit more brass than I expected where he somewhat demanded me to prove who I was and that I was an actual customer previously. Not very friendly in his email tone. When he verified that I did actually come here, is when he conveyed his parents took ownership of this store. However, I'm not 100% certain that's the case. Nevertheless, if that is true, then this rating is for the prior owner. I'll let you as the consumer decide what you believe. I'm just a blogger who is informing the consumer of my first hand accounts and thoughts. read more

There are some very friendly folks working here, and their dry cleanings services are reasonably priced. I appreciate the 24 hour turn-around time, and the creases in my uniforms were sharp. Thank you, Fair Lakes Cleaners! read more

Impressive! Having suffered years of Soapy Joe's high prices and bad service I was hesitant to attempt a new dry cleaners but gave these guys a chance based on their Yelp reviews. Took five shirts in and they had them back to me in a couple of days for less than $10. Best of all they did an incredible job in getting out the sweat and grime stains from the collars and cuffs. Like I said: Impressive! Polite and professional without charging too much. Definitely going back. read more

A friend of mine used this place and it was convenient to work so I decided to drop off some work pants to be dry-cleaned and I requested they repair a hem that fell out on one pair, too. Super friendly. I told her no rush but they still guaranteed them to be ready in only a few days. I picked up my order and did a quick check and noticed they sewed the frayed ends on another pair of pants, too - without charging me! That is some customer service - unheard of! I would definitely recommend this place and will be using them for all my dry-cleaning needs. read more

Very nice family-owned cleaning place. They cleaned my wife's chinese wedding dress for $10. And for her white American dress, they cleaned it for about $100 and that includes putting it in a VERY nice display box/frame. They are extremely friendly. Definitely go here for your special cleaning needs! read more

I really enjoy coming here as the owner always greets me with a smile and remembers my name... despite the fact that I come about once every 3-4 months. Service is great and I can usually get my clothes dry cleaned in about two days (I never attempted next day service). They also work with you to see when you'd like to have your clothes ready by. I haven't had any bad experiences with my dry cleaning (some other cleaners have left this weird film that ruined some shirts) and they are pretty good with alterations and fixing my shoes. I definitely recommend this and it's great they're convenient to both work and home. read more

I feel like this place is a little on the pricey side when it comes to women's garments... Mores than a place like ZIPs for instance. BUT, they do a fantastic job on their dry cleaning. On top of that, the staff there are friendly and, after you come in a few times, know you by name. This will be my new place to get my dry cleaning done in Fairfax. read more

Fantastic service at a reasonable price. Been using them for 5+ years.. always on time and do a thorough job

Really like this cleaners. They have done my husband's dress shirts, suits, and our king-size bed comforter. They are always very friendly and call me by my married name. I drive from South Riding to go here because they do such a great job. The last time I was there, I asked if they sold collar stays for my husband's dress shirt. The owner stepped into the back and gave me a pair of new, wrapped metal shirt collar stays and reminded me to always take them out before cleaning. I thought that was very nice and generous of him to give them to me. read more

I took my husbands clothes here and they messed some shirts up and refused to take responsibility. I won't go back

The cleaners may be affordable but can't say much about the quality of work. My shirts collars come out having those deep embedded wrinkles that I end up having to take elsewhere to take out. I rather pay more for better quality pressed shirts. The people are friendly though. read more

While working in the area I used this dry cleaner. I was always met with courteous service and I'm sad to leave the area. Fast service, quality alterations and dry cleaning, and chemical free earth friendly products used!!! Be friendly to them and they'll be friendly to you, goes a long way! read more

I have used this cleaners for over 20 years. In that time, I only had 1 item ever ruined. At the time, business was owned by the Kim family and they pointed out the problem and paid for it immediately. My items were always spotless, hung correctly and fantastic, fast service. In the last few years, the Kims sold the business and the service has gone downhill at a rapid pace. They cannot follow simple instructions for hanging the clothes, clothes are not as clean and I have heard other customers make the same comments. I recently approached them about an item that was damaged and they said they didn't do it, that I must have a moth in the closet. Well....I do not. I have a fashion merchandising degree and a background in textiles, so fairly familiar with the difference. Also terrible at alterations. There is another cleaners on the far end of the shopping area, closer to Home Goods that others have used and where I will now go. read more

I've been looking for an affordable cleaner in Fairfax for a long time and I am so happy I found Fair Lakes Cleaners! I chose them because the majority of the reviews on Yelp were positive and that's not common when it comes to reviews on dry cleaning services. On Saturday I brought over a pea coat that I bought at J. Crew almost a year ago, several silk blouses, a blazer, a skirt and a pair of dress pants. The most expensive item was the coat ($13.95) and the grand total came to $44.90. When I walked in, the young man at the front desk flashed me the brightest smile I've ever seen from someone standing behind the counter of a service desk. The people there are indescribably friendly and the prices are reasonable. They told me I could pick my items up on Monday. When I picked up my clothes, I took them home and began my typical inspection process. Everything was perfect and looked brand new! Two of my silk blouses had a ton of bronzer on the lining when I dropped them off and when I picked them up, they were exactly the same as when I picked them out at the store. This was by far the best experience I've ever had at a dry cleaners. I highly recommend them and I've already dropped off the remainder of my winter coats to get spruced up. Service: 10/10 Quality: 10/10 Cleanliness: 10/10 Pricing: 10/10 Go there! I can't speak on alterations but I can say that their cleaning service is exceptional.. They also list their prices online so you know what to expect ahead of time. My coat had a ton of white dog hair on it and there was no extra charge to take care of that. LOVE THEM! read more

Do not use this cleaners!! I have been going there for over a year, and they did not block my sweater properly. I went back the next day, and they would not try to fix it. This is not a cheap cleaners. It surprised me that they would treat a good customer like that. I even took in an identical sweater in a different color so they could see the mistake. They were so rude too. I now have to throw out a $200 sweater. read more

I am really picky where I take my clothes. The place I used to go to is a little far now that I am currently working at the client site. I went there to dry clean some clothes and fix a piece that had ripped on this dress I only wore once. I didn't think they would be able to really make it look like it did before, but I hoped that they would. When I came today to get my clothes, the clothes were clean and the dress looked just like the day I bought it! I couldn't stop thanking them. I have found my new cleaners. read more

You're not going to find nicer people than the family that runs Fair Lakes Cleaners. They are friendly, polite, remember your name, and always greet you with a smile on their faces. And on top of that, they do excellent work. I brought in a sport coat with a wine stain, and they were able to make the coat look like new again! If you live in the Fair Lakes area, this is the dry cleaners for you! read more

This is a wonderful family owned establishment. Service is always very friendly, in fact we are greeted by name. Prices are very reasonable and they have done a great job with not only our dry cleaning, but also cleaning a carpet, repairing a shirt and repairing a pair of shoes. One of the best dry cleaners we have used - we highly recommend Fair Lakes Cleaners! read more

Friendly owners who make a genuine effort to meet short suspenses. Tailoring/mending is to a high quality and cheaper than most other dry cleaners in this neighborhood. read more

They are affordable and with very quick turnaround time. Shirts and pants are neatly pressed and packaged up for pickup. They'll clip the shirt sleeves together to prevent them from wrinkling until you're ready to wear the shirt. read more

In terms of their cleaning ability and speed, excellent. They're eco friendly and very personable. Unfortunately, I tried their alteration service, and had to dock them for it. Brought in a suit for cleaning and hem repair of the pants; the SO's skirt went in for a hem repair as well. Both jobs are loose, the pants will need a repair again soon. The skirt was not actually fixed, stitching was so loose its already let go. $12 lesson learned. A on cleaning, F on alterations. read more

Great customer service, prices and results! I have been regularly coming here for over 4 years and have always been more than satisfied with their service. I have NEVER experienced lost items and my laundry is always ready by the date I request. read more

These are awful people and I would not recommend them to anyone. They ruined my white linen scarf and did not even let me know that they had torn it up! I found out until I got home! This was a dry clean only scarf and quite expensive. I was told by the manager that they had not even tried to dry clean it because it was too delicate but when I looked at it at home it had a huge tear in the center! This is a very dishonest group of people. If they were a reputable company they would have let me know that they messed up and offered some sort of a remedy. Please do not go to this place because they simply do not care about their customers. read more

When it comes to my clothes I get very picky. My friend suggested me this place and I gave it a try. They did an excellent job on all of my clothes. Staff is friendly and very attentive. Also, I think their prices are very reasonable! read more

Horrible service from new owners, haven't gone back in 6 months. New owners are rude, no apologies and also late even though giving them a full week to dry clean and laundry of 4 shirts. read more

This USED to be my go to place for all Dry cleaning when I moved to the area about 2 years ago, however the past couple of times I have gone (Normally go every month) I am left very disappointed. My last experience took the cake, when I received a very expensive jacket that I purchased a couple of months ago DAMAGED! The owners were NOT helpful and did not seem to care that this was happening. All they offered to do was repair the damage, which they tried to charge me for. I am sorry if you damage someones garments you should not just fix the damage, you should offer to replace the item. Safe to say I will not be using this cleaners from now on! read more

Won't be going here again. My husband and I took in his suit and my suit (women's) to be cleaned. My dress shirts (button down) got charged as "blouses" $4.95 whereas his dress shirt (button down) was charged as such at $1.65. When my husband asked why their was a price difference in the exact same item (just one being a women's and one being men's) they said it was due to the fact women's shirts are smaller and cannot fit in the press. Needless to say, we will not be going back here again. It's the exact same item and a way to be up charged. Don't waste your time, decent cleaning but most definitely not worth the price. I can get the exact same quality cleaning job elsewhere for the a fraction the cost. It's a SCAM to charge someone more for such a ridiculous reason. read more

I'm always so nervous about trying out new cleaners but I shouldn't have worried at all coming here. Had a stain on my silk shirt and when I got it back, the shirt was like new all for just $5. The people are super friendly too. Never going to a different dry cleaners in this area again. read more
