I've used GreenWorks three times now, and each time has been great! The previous two times were at a different house for a furnace and A/C tune-up. Most recently, I called for a boiler service and got an appointment for about 10 days later. I was given a service window of 9-12pm, and the technician, Ismael, called me just after 9 to say he was nearby. We are new to owning a home with a boiler, and Ismael took the time to walk me through proper boiler maintenance. He never tried to upsell me, and he said my boiler looked great! Ismael also took the time to walk upstairs to my tenants' unit to troubleshoot some heating issues (most of which were user error!). Ismael found one radiator that may need to be serviced, and he told me he'd work on getting me a quote to fix it soon. I am so grateful that we found Green Works! We have needed their help for a variety of things and they've been responsive, reliable, and have solved all of our problems. We first contacted green works to see if they could sound proof our HVAC room, which they said they didn't do. But they did help us prepare for the soundproofing that another contractor did for us. Such a great experience with Green Works! My radiator went out in the middle of the night on a single digit night, so I was freezing. I had a very prompt response on Yelp, and the tech was out within only 4 hours! The technician, Ishmael, was great! Very professional, was also very friendly with my dog (added perk!), and explained everything he was doing. He identified a number of issues from the installation, spent time to call tech support for the radiator, found previous wiring issues, and gave clear call back instructions. The call itself was $95 and there was a "miscellaneous fee" of $85. Not completely sure what all that entails and wish more details were provided instead of just "miscellaneous." However, Ishmael was present for a significant amount of time and provided great service so I was satisfied with the price. Will definitely use again - may even look into using Green Works to transition from radiators to central heat/air! read more

I'm am the president of a condo association for an 18 unit building. Our heating system recently experienced a catastrophic failure; our heating pipes froze throughout the first floor, resulting in dozens of leaks in multiple condos. They had a great price ($95) to clean our boiler and ($30) to bleed the radiators in our three unit condo building. The next day, one of the radiators was leaking from the bleed valve and Julian came back out to close it. He then showed me how to bleed the radiators and how to put more water into the boiler to raise the pressure. It's a simple enough task that I would have been scared to try on my own. Our heating system is old and uneven. The first floor units are always too hot and the second floor is always too cold. Mistakes happen; my pants would be a three-alarm fire if I dared to call myself perfect. Julian called me and called me and called me some more after he read my review; he doesn't like to leave voicemails. Had he not left a message or texted, as he did, that would have been the end of the story. However, his overwhelming number of positive reviews, made it seem only fair to give him a second chance and take him up on his offer of a free inspection. The second time around, Julian showed up when promised and apologized profusely. He's a very nice guy and his apology seemed genuine - no excuses or argumentativeness whatsoever. He got down to business and inspected my furnace. He didn't even seem to mind when my one cat, reprising her role as general contractor, supervised his work. I consider myself lucky I gave Julian a second chance because there was a problem with my furnace. I had the option of fixing or replacing the furnace; since it's practically an antique, replacing it seemed like the smart thing to do. I was a bit concerned because my schedule over the next few weeks is crazy, but Julian was able to accommodate my schedule and provided the needed insurance paperwork to my building before work commenced. Julian returned for the install promptly and got right to work. My new furnace was installed and aside from a problem-free, more efficient furnace, it doesn't even look like he was here. Thank goodness for Green Works! Our steam boiler is about 10 years old and although we get it checked out every year prior to heating season, naturally occasionally it stops working. Well last night was one of those nights. I found Green Works on Yelp and called them at 8:30 this morning, having been unimpressed with past dealings of other companies. Julian answered and said he could be here between 12 and 3. He came at 12:10. Quickly diagnosed the problem, went to get a part and repaired it. Voila! Heat again. Julian is awesome. The good part: They were quick to get back to me and one of the lowest charges for estimates. The bad part: I live in a condo w baseboard heat. Even though my thermostat was set it kept getting colder and colder in my place. I changed the battery but still no luck. They sent someone out. He asked me about my thermostat and I explained what I had done. He checked it out and agreed. Here's where things started getting bad. He called the office because he either didn't know what to do or needed permission. During the phone call he asked me if I had access to the boiler room and I said yes. After a few more minutes we went down to the boiler room. He kept asking me where the valve was. I didn't know. He looked around and told me what there usually was. I said I know nothing about it. He called the office again. This time they talked for at least over 5 minutes because he had no idea what to do. We decided to go back upstairs and look at the baseboard. I asked him if the valve could be in the baseboard and he said no, it's never in the baseboard. I expressed my skepticism with his capabilities, considering he'd been at my place for about 15 minutes and had already had to make two phone calls. He reiterated the valve should be in the boiler room. On the way up I suggested I should go to my neighbor to see if he knew anything. We got upstairs and I got my neighbor. He said the valve was located in the baseboard, which is what I had suggested but the worker said no. The neighbor showed the worker where it was. The worker called the office yet again. Apparently someone told him to take a picture, which he did. He then told me his boss told him it would be $675 because it's the solenoid (sp?) Valve. I declined and paid my $88 Four basically having my neighbor come over because a couple weeks later I called another company who came out and actually used tools and tested lots of things. The problem was a short in the circuit board of my thermostat, which they fixed that same day for much less than the estimate from Greenworks read more
