I've been in Arizona for 18 years, and after about 1 I gave up on decent Chinese food in the area that compared to what I'd get on the east coast. There's one place I stuck to that was good enough, but on a whim I decided to grab an egg roll to go as a snack after get my nails done next door. Once I took a bite I just knew I'd have to give this place a chance-- spoiler alert: I love it! Today I tried chicken and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and pork fried rice. Very happy with all 3 and can't wait to try more. It's a small place, and while they do have a few tables, it's more of a pick up or delivery spot. I always ask for house made fresh hot mustard and they always say yes, today I opened the bag in front of them and they didnt say anything when I couldn't find the hot mustard. Have given this place too many chances to meet reasonable expectations. They fail miserably, ALL THE TIME. Food at best, is mediocre. They screw up the order regularly and the biggest issue ... you never ever get your food on time!!!! I hate to do this, seeing this restaurant is in my neighborhood, but I am giving Green Tea a "meh". We ordered for pick up on a Sunday and the food was ready quick and fresh and hot. My boyfriend got the Orange Chicken and I got General Tso's Tofu (with a note of HOT! next to it). We also got a couple orders of spring rolls and egg rolls. Weird, the orange chicken was all stuck together and extremely rubbery. It did come in brown rice which he said he enjoyed. But overall not very good. My dish was much better. The tofu was cooked perfectly. My only complaint was I saw red pepper flakes in the sauce but it was not a bit hot (I get that spicy is subjective though). Seeing it is a local restaurant we may go back just to try different dishes to see if that makes a difference. read more

Came here for the first time on my way back to California from TX. On a Wednesday at 12pm noon, only a couple other people in here at this time. They were super quick and everything was super hot (temp). I ate there. Spice level is good for a standard level, if you love spice then get extra. Hot and sour was tasty, too. I got no water chestnuts and it was a non-issue and I didnt find any. They gave wonton strips for with the soup. And it's a big portion for lunch. The fried rice is also great. Only note is that I didn't catch for lunch it was soup OR soda. So if you want both, make sure to order it. Better for to probably have water anyway haha! My family and I really like this spot for some classic Americanized Chinese food! This is CASUAL DINING and not gourmet, at a banging price, so please have realistic expectations. Family owned and they work hard, we appreciate them! Their Cashew Chicken is phenomenal (a personal favorite) and their lo mein is the perfect carby comfort food-- with a healthy portion of meat! I also love their egg foo young, orange chicken (the true test of any American Chinese place), hot and sour soup, and various vegetarian dishes (they know how to cook veggies perfectly). I eat here pretty frequently because of my work. The best part of this spot is the price to portion ratio; you can get a meal and a half for $12, and that's based on American portion standards. I am shocked at some of the bad reviews here. I don't know why someone said it was dirty. The place was sparkling clean when I went. Service was fine for the level of restaurant. I didn't find it to be rude or super attentive but I thought it matched(no deduction). This place is easy to find. And they get your food ready quick. Mine took 15 minutes. The pricing is incredible. This is also one of those places that does a large and small option on most of their dishes so it's insanely reasonable compared to what everyone else charges. I got an egg roll and a chicken lo mien combo. The lo mien I thought was really good. 5/5. The pork fried rice was ok. I think it's made in bulk and they just scoop it in. I'll try the house special to see if it improves next time. 3/5 for the rice. Egg roll is a 5/5 and they're NY style eggrolls! Which for some reason are impossible to find out west. I do believe all the bad ratings are for a reason similar to pizza ratings in AZ. It is simply that people in Arizona have been eating such bad Chinese for years that they don't really know what American NY style Chinese tastes like. Stopped in to try this place. Looking for some good Chinese by our house. Customer Service was very good. The lady taking our order was very attentive and gave use free General Tso's chicken. We waited about 30 minutes for our food to be cooked. No biggie there because it was fresh. Orange and General Tso's Chicken was crispy and full of flavor. We loved that we ordered it lightly spiced and it was on point. Pupu Platter was yummy. The only complaint was, the ribs were tough and the shrimp were not cleaned. The egg rolls were my favorite part! House Chow Mein was full of flavor. It had just the right amount of meat and the noddles were perfectly soft. The reason for 3 stars: This place wasn't anything to write home about. Our expectations were a little higher than what we were given. This is a solid 3 star review. What does that mean? It means everything about this place is right in the middle. Food is decent. Not spectacular, not awful. It is definitely plentiful, served hot and inexpensive. Taste is okay, not the best Chinese food ever, could be worse. Service is given with a smile. For a close to home, easy, cheap, once in a while, quick fix, it does the job. Atmosphere: well, interestingly, there kind of isn't one. I know, weird, right? It's small inside. There are four or five tables, not super clean but not super dirty, just middle of the road. Not super comfortable, but not uncomfortable. It's not loud, and it's only very quiet if there's nobody else in there. Decoration is almost nonexistent although there is good light coming in from the front windows. Service: it's fine. Yeah, "fine." I really haven't had another review like this that is been so 'middle ground'. That doesn't mean bad, but also not exceptional. You will find one "nice" person standing at a register when you walk in, that's the extent of the service. They will also bring your food and clean the table if you eat there. This place is almost a "to go" restaurant only with a couple tables to sit and eat if you choose. Overall: it's a decent restaurant, reasonable tasting food without much ethnic flavor, very inexpensive, many choices on the menu, large plentiful portion sizes, decent "one person" service in an extremely casual setting that works fine for a quick meal that fills the tank. Do I recommend Green Tea? If you're looking for "an experience" or a date restaurant, then this is not the place. If you're looking for a neighborhood Chinese place with really inexpensive, middle of the road tasting food with large portions, primarily to fill your stomach and keep going with your day, then sure. The first time I came here last week to try their food and there wasn't any table to sit and dine. This is more of a cafe than a restaurant. There's 3 table sitting inside and a 3 counter sitting against the window right next to the entrance. Small place and they need a storage area for all their menus and restaurant supplies. Combination Combos have great price for a quick bite and this restaurant is surely good for to go food since they can easily be full on sitting area. Terrible customer service!! This has always been my go to restaurant for Chinese food. Typically the food is good. Unfortunately the previous three times I've gone the customer service has been so awful it made me question whether I wanted to continue supporting this particular family run business. After having to deal with the extremely rude attitude of the young cashier, I unfortunately cannot continue to support the. The young girl, approximately 14 -16 years old has such a disrespectful disposition, it's a shame that she's allowed to interact directly with customer's which is causing the family business to lose business. She's rude and rushes you through your order on the phone and when you go in to pick your order up, not only should you not expect to be greeted but definitely expect her to snap orders out at you asking for your information but she also has no problem tossing your money/card at you before slamming the window and tossing the bag with your order onto the counter and saying nothing about if it's complete or if you should wait for another bag. You'll stand there waiting for nothing only to have her give you more attitude about why you're still there. So done with this girl and unfortunately the restaurant. read more
