I really want to like this restaurant. Good location, plenty of parking. Been there many times. However, every time we go, we have to flag down someone to take our order, get our bill, etc. If they sit you but you don't flag them down to take your order, you may be sitting there forever! I practically live here as a night owl. The employees that work at 9pm always treat me as an invited customer, despite it being near closing time. I used to order food here (when I had time to come before 9 pm lol) and it was decent. Not the best, but decent... like I wouldn't mind it if I were force fed their food. I don't know if there's been any improvements on the taste of their food because I come for drinks only nowadays due to their kitchen having an earlier closing time than the actual store... the boba milk tea wasn't my favorite initially, but in drinking it daily or more often than not, I've grown accustomed to it and actually quite like it now. This is due to the fact that the tea in the milk tea has a more overpowering taste compared to other boba places, but at least ten Ren's never waters it down. I also love the black sugar iced milk teas (or whatever they're called), so if any of you are feeling adventurous you should give it a try. read more

Ten rens is usually one of my favorite places to go for boba, but sometimes they just can't get their orders straight when they're busy. I have family members with strict dietary restrictions so getting orders correct is really important. When I called over the phone I asked the front desk person to read back the order to make sure that they had all the right directions with the food. But when I picked up the order, they had mixed up the sugar amounts, forgotten the boba and mixed up the food orders too. I looked back at the receipt and the person taking the order, although she said all of it correctly, the receipt was wrong. They had missed important information like "extra protein, boba, sugar amount, and milk amount" I'll probably come back again, but please pay better attention. read more

This is my go to place for me and my friends to work & study. They always provide excellent service, and the wifi actually works :) I usually get the teas here. The teas are brewed well so you can actually taste the tea and it doesn't have that bitter/burnt taste to it. Overall it's a good place to study or hang out. read more

I think the cashiers and the waiters or whatever you want to call them tend to spend way too much time talking to each other, and time and time again, they've ignored the cooks when they tell them an order is ready. Customer service was on par and manager was very accommodating after I explained what happened at my last visit. Completely inept, horrible service for both dine in and to-go. I've been to plenty to Ten Ren's and the complete lack of service here shocked me. I've been to this location several times and every time without fail I've spent more time trying to get the attention of the staff than the whole time I was eating there or ordering to go, and this was during non-busy times where there was only one or two other parties. Despite this being the closest Ten Ren's to me, I go out of my way to go to other locations that actually serve their customers and I suggest you do the same. read more

I wanted some authentic Chinese Food. I came to realize it's not only authentic Chinese, but also Taiwanese upon asking the waiters. The food is so tasty. I also love the appetizers. Bad experience... Felt like not being accepted because of our race. We ask for water it took them forever before we got it. We finished the food still no water to drink. When they've serve our water they put it in a styro cup. And we saw them serving others with a decent glass of water. And the person they're serving have the same race as them. If the Mad Hatter knew of Ten Ren well, I don't believe he would be very mad at all. Let's talk looks: Ten Ren Tea Time located in Walnut is a sparkling jewel hidden in an amount of industry. There is a small parking lot directly in front of the store, which means those of you who are driving Hummer H2 may have a "small" problem. There is additional parking flanked to the west of the store, which accommodates larger vehicles. Since Ten Ren is located in a business plaza many wouldn't give the notable tea shop a second glance. The shop itself is easy to find with signage clearly displayed that becomes illuminated at night. The outside houses a small enclosed patio lined with stainless steel chairs and tables. The interior wouldn't be considered luxurious but clean; something you would expect for any dining establishment. Recessed lighting created a clam mood, yet it was never too dim you couldn't make out the people around you. The hip-fun vivacious colors used in the decor were not distracting and never took away from the experience. Several TVs were strung on the walls to provide entertainment which added to the "at home" atmosphere. The food at Ten Ren is titillating, but a little on the pricey side. As my friend said "as semi- authentic as you can get!" In a time where Panda Express rules the Chinese-American cuisine, Ten Ren takes you to a whole new world of goodies you can't find at any drive thru. Their happy hour which falls during the hours of 5-7 or 10-12 land in weird spots but makes sense. During happy hour you will find many of your favorite draft beers, wines, or even their pleasant Soju beverages all priced at 50% off! My friends and I all single decided to opt out and try the Love Potion Soju. The sour green apple wasn't what we were expecting- however it still did its job. The staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful. To my surprise not only did our waitress stop and ask if we needed help. But many other employees simply cleaning up would see if we were OK. Something you don't get too often these days. After a night of good food, drinks, service, and conversation my friends and I parted ways. Ten Ren left nothing more but a scrumptious, sweet and savory taste in my mouth. I would definitely recommend coming here if not for the food, but the atmosphere and happy hour! read more

Honestly hands down a great environment the tables are clean and everything feels new and always updated. The servers are quite nice and can answer your questions really well especially Alisa she was our server that took care of us recently and she was really friendly about the questions my picky father asked.
