In which case I had a few rats, that unknown to me, burrowed their way under my foundation and into the crawl space. Learn something new every day. So I call Charlotte Wildlife Removal and learn that rats can actually dig tunnels. And from earlier battles to remove them over the years; found that there were a few holdouts left. CWR laid out large box traps along the entrance to the hole and other areas as well as in the crawl space. Being sure not to lay poison yet so that they wouldn't die and then I would have the smell in the house. Side note; contrary to popular belief, the poison doesn't drive them out to get water, they'll just stay and die. CWR came by every other day for 2 weeks to check the traps. All of the rats we caught happened in the first few days but did it for 2 weeks to be certain. Then the poisonous was laid in the attic, and crawl space. The best part though is that CWR dug down where the tunnels were filled it all back with concrete and covered with dirt. Overkill, possibly. Serious follow through, ohhh you bet! I have a near full basement and these tunnels contributed to leaks into the basement on days of heavy rain. So I'm very thankful for this dual repair. They will be back to do other preventative work for the crawl space. For now it's back to just being my home. Pleasant to work with, diligent and priced fairly. Highly recommend them.

Communication and followup with the office and scheduler was excellent and they had availability next day to come inspect, unlike 2 others we called. The inspector arrived when expected (texting to keep us updated on arrival time) and was professional, well-informed, and thorough. Even came with shoe protectors to keep floors clean after poking around. He somehow managed to keep a straight face and remain cheerful and compassionate when it turned out to be a false alarm. Pointed out some roof / attic repairs that may be needed, unrelated to wildlife. We learned about PCA through Reddit, from others who actually had wildlife and gave them high marks for removal. We got on the subject of other house projects and I mentioned I was looking for a plumber and told him my issue. Two months later I finally found work and before I could pay them they turned me over for collection despite my situation, my open communication with them and the unauthorized charge. I called to make the payment, which was deducted from my account, and two weeks later the collection agency is still sending me letters. I suppose it will depend on whether or not we need to involve a lawyer and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to determine if we ever use them or not.
