They sent this email to me in April: "Spring is a vital time for targeted treatments--to help stop the establishment of outdoor populations and intercept pests before indoor breeding can begin. Your last Aptive treatment was June 2025. We highly recommend scheduling your tailored service today. Rejoin and get a $150 Visa gift card¹ plus $49 "Welcome Back" pricing on your initial treatment." After responding they sent a guy to my house, asked me to sign on the monthly plan of 49$. However, since the first service there hasn't been any follow up visit, I also didn't get any bill or credit card payments even though I gave them my credit card info for monthly deduction. Today I got a letter from ARM, a debt collector, telling me my account with Aptive is delinquent. Aptive claim that I owed them $245 which I guess is 5 months (49x5) monthly payment. However, they sent no one and did nothing in the last 5 months!!! Besides, they never called me if they ran into any issue with credit card payments, which never happened! I thought the deal was automatically cancelled since there had been no service since the first visit. The promised $150 gift card also has never been realized . I will call them first thing in the morning To protest This fraudulent practice. I hope all who read this are pre-warned. Do not fall into this trap! read more

I'm in Indian Trail where solicitors need a permit to go door-to-door. Their salesman (pictured here) rang the bell twice within 30 seconds and then started pounding on my door. I was on a meeting with my boss, but he was able to hear the guy pounding on the door and told me to go ahead and answer it. I asked for his solicitation permit and he mumbled something about his manager having one and I informed him that in Indian Trail you are required to carry the permit with you when soliciting. I also let him know that even if I were in the market for new pest control that just from the way he started our interaction I'd never go with aptive. read more

Avoid at all costs! This is a complete scam that preys on vulnerable people and will lie to get you to sign a contract that isn't clearly explained. The man at the door told us we could cancel or put the service on hold at no charge. Even when we politely declined, he acted like he would offer a great deal by sending us an initial bill of $39 through Cash App, which he said would cover the cost and that we could cancel if we weren't satisfied after the first service. They did come out that day but only sprayed a small amount in a corner. I know for a fact they didn't cover the entire house as promised, nor did they spray the backyard. Less than three weeks later, they charged us another $60 -- with no scheduled appointment -- which is suspicious since we haven't requested another trip. We called yesterday to put the account on hold, as we weren't ready to pay for another service so soon, and they assured us it wouldn't be a problem. However, this morning, they withdrew another $60, leaving us only $13 in our account until Friday. When we contacted them again, they told us there are no refunds, but they would send someone next week to complete the work. They also warned that if we decide to cancel now, it will cost us $200. 1.5 stars on Yelp vs 4.5 stars on Google says it all! Just based on their aggressive/annoying salesman, I would never choose this company. They were in our neighborhood this past weekend and the salesman came to our door around 5PM on 4/2, we were just getting home from work so we didn't answer. That same night he came back at 8:30PM (why are you knocking on doors this late when people are eating dinner and putting children to bed???!) and wouldn't leave until we answered, he was ringing the doorbell and knocking hard on the door, making our dogs bark. We answered through the doorbell camera saying "we're eating dinner and we're not interested." He came back on Saturday, 4/4 after seeing us outside while he was patrolling all the other neighbors houses and came up to my husband saying "I know you said you're not interested but I can only offer you this deal in person". My husband said we already said we aren't interested but let me run it by my wife this weekend (politely saying leave us alone!) He came back Monday, 4/6, around 12:30PM and I was busy so did not answer. He came back again 15 minutes later ringing the doorbell and knocking on the door again after he saw my let our dogs out in the backyard! Talk about feeling stalked and watched in your own home, so uncomfortable!! Pretty sure it's borderline harassment and trespassing to come back to someone's house trying to sell something after they've already told you they're not interested. Awful look for your company and by the other reviews, this happens often. We'll be staying with Home Team. Do better!!! read more

Extremely disappointed in this company and I feel like I was taken advantage of... Initially this company was great. They had some kid show up on a segway and sell this premier pest control service promising they'd "break the egg cycle" and our house would be "roach free." ....The first 6 months were great. There was typically a team per visit and they'd spend 30-45 minutes at my property... Roughly 6 months ago I upgraded to the premier service and thats when it all changed... Every visit yielded a different service. Sometimes they check the bait boxes and removed the cobwebs, sometimes they wouldn't. The visits became progressively shorter and with that, the bugs got worse. Up until recently I was unaware of the negligence until I checked my account. ***THEY KEEP THEIR TIMESHEETS UP TO DATE SO MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THEM*** When I looked at the time sheets, I was shocked!!! One visit, the guy was at my house for 9 minutes!!! I paid them $160 for 9 minutes!!! After further reviewing the history, I learned that they were only doing partial services and still charging me full price!! Outrageous.. Case and point.. Don't fall for their BS and polished sales tactics.. ITS ALL BS!!! The worst part is I wasn't offered a refund of any sorts although the proof was in the timesheets.. The door salesman wouldn't take "no" or "I'll consider it and get back to you", or "I'm cooking, can you come back later" for an answer. He was pushy and kept on while my pan was ruined on the stove top. The finish has been ruined and now the food sticks. I would have considered switching, but definitely not now. This is a boys group home in Monroe NC. We have 4 ducks and we asked them not to spray ANYTHING in the back of the house and back yard. However, the man not only sprayed the back yard but he also sprayed where the ducks are housed and the patio area they eat in. He also did not spray in the house for ants like he was supposed to. TERRIBLE service and if someone tells you don't spray somewhere you should respect that. DO NOT RECOMMEND to anyone. read more

My finances changed to where I could no longer afford the services. It was very difficult to cancel their services, as one of their vans kept showing up at my front door. I called into the office to let them know that I was canceling it and thought it was done. Later, 2 or 3 more vans came by to which I had to send away. I even had someone from their office call my house after I sent the last person away to confirm the cancelation of services. Fast forward to today, another Aptive van showed up at my house and after texting the tech that my account was canceled, I called their office, until I spoke with a live person. And during that call, I had to tell him that I had already sent away 2 or 3 of their vans because my services were supposed to have been canceled. After a few minutes on the phone, I started becoming annoyed because instead of just making sure that my account was canceled and properly closed, the guy refused to close my account and threatened to charge me close to $200 because I was defaulting on a 36 month contract. I ended up hanging up on the guy because he would not close my account and kept trying to keep me on the phone to pressure me into continuing my contract. And it is because of their pressure campaign, I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I have had Aptive for an entire two years of me moving into my home. Every time they come out there is always a problem. I am ready to drop them as soon as I can fine and shop around for another pest control company. Do not hire I repeat do not hire Aaptiv pest control for your pest services. Their products they tell you that will help eliminate passing kill pest, but then they tell you that their products actually only deter pests , and do not kill them. I'm tired of the lies. The other thing is scheduling. We set and told them a specific times so someone always show up not during your time slot you told them. So you wouldn't be home to let them in your home. Their customer service reps will hang up on you if you're upset or angry. Instead they say I will not be talked to like this and hang up on you. When you have a pissed off client sometime you have to take a little blow. I have 360 coverage cameras around my entire property. I caught one tech come and was gone in five minutes. When it doesn't take 5 minutes to do a proper service. So that sounds like a con-artist type of thing to do right there. Take my money but don't give me the full service. This has happened twice to me unfortunately and I have footage saved from that as well. The other thing that makes me upset with APTIVE. In the beginning when we signed up. We have no garage but we have a shed. They included our package with the shed and treating it like it's a garage. Great. But they never do it. My wife isn't responsible for telling them what they should be doing with their job. They should be like okay my documentation says your shed needs spraying can I get into your shed. Boom. It's not rocket science. Lastly, Yesterday set me over the top. I had a tech come over and he didn't do a thorough job. He told me he set a wasp or hornets trap but didn't even tell me where he put it incase one of my pets gets to it. Which can be fatal. Also the tech parked in my drive way. First of all aptive do you pay my mortgage? Do you pay for my driveway to be fixed if your trucks spill oil? Or if they crack it due to weight? I believe I would have to seek council for that and it would be a night mare. I don't want to deal with that. So stay off my driveway and stay off my yard when your techs park in the road. Keep all tires on the road. Not in my yard. Then the tech had the audacity to say their trained to pull into the driveway. That's a load of crap because I work as an electrician and we do not park in peoples driveway. It's a liability issue. Last but not least I called customer support last night after my service, and told them to have the field manager or regional manger call me. Heard nothing from APTIVE AT ALL. So Aptive I think you need to do better because I have all the proof, documentation, and every ounce of information I can use against your company! I hope you understand ! To the consumers. Whatever they use was not effective at removing pests inside and I continued to get spider bites, etc.. The final star was the professionalism. If I could give 0 stars I would. Stay as far away from this company as possible. First, their process for eliminating pests is laughable. We had the service for six months and saw absolutely no decline in the pest problem. Second, the team would just show up unannounced and provide the "service". if you weren't home they claimed they were there. Lastly, their billing is atrocious. We cancelled the service in June 2023 and they continued to bill us through September. When I called to cancel service they confirmed the account had been closed and we were all set, no additional invoices were being sent. I received a collection notice in January regarding an outstanding $144 invoice. In six months we never received a "final invoice", telephone call, email or text. They just sent to collections. When I called to have the issue resolved, customer service said there was nothing they could do. Aptive Enviromental will now hear from my attorney. There are 1000 exterminators in the Charlotte area. 999 are better than Aptive Enviromental. Stay away!!!! read more

We had our regular service scheduled for 12/14/23. I just happened to be working from home that day. Normally the Service "Professional" will text when he's on his way but this time he just showed up. He didn't come to the door to let us know he was here so I just decided to watch. He sat in his truck for about 14 minutes. He finally took the brush out of his van just long enough to take a picture of him holding it up to the eve. He put the brush away and got back in the van. After about 8 minutes he left. He then sent a summary (see video description) of everything he supposedly did and tried to charge our card $174. I was able to cancel my contract after this but this is the same "Professional" that "treated" our yard the past 3 times so who knows how much money we wasted. They rang my bell, got my dog all excited and I had to tell them twice that I am in an HOA community and the HOA handles pest control. They were nice enough. But its 2022 people! She was nice, but I had to say 'no' 'I already have a pest service' 'I'm not interested' and 'you're stressing all of us out' and literally close the door on her before she would leave. Not a customer but this is the 2nd time I've had a bad experience with their reps. The first was the door to door sales attempt. When advised I was working from home and could not talk rep continued and then rolled his eyes at me when I advised I was not interested. Today rep was here for service for neighbors but parked blocking my driveway. Refused to move to the overflow parking and wanted to argue that I was not going anywhere. I got way too angry after he continued to make smart comebacks instead of just moving the van. A little customer service could have avoided the whole situation. I saw my previous review (below) was for the wrong location. I do NOT recommend this company at all. They are dishonest and their sales practices are misleading. Originally I was told I'd be billed every 3 months by the sales person. When the contract came it said it was for 12 months for 6 treatments. During the warmer months it said they would come 30-60 days and during colder months they would come 50-80 days. I was also told that if I need more treatments I could call them any time and they would come out FREE of charge. They started coming out montly and charging me everytime they came out. I thought nothing of them coming out monthly bc they told me extra services were free. Once I realized they were over charging me and they'd charged me for more than the 6 services that I agreed to, I called to cancel my service and requested a refund for all services over the 6 services that I agreed to. They even started coming out twice a month and tried to charge me twice in the same month! They charged me 11 times in a 12 month period including twice for the month of August even though I only agreed to pay for 6 services. Initially they said they'd only refund one service. I escalated the situation and they said they'd refund 2 services. I want them to refund all services over 6 because that's what I agreed to pay for during the 12 month period. If you choose to use this company, DO NOT let them schedule services. Call them ONLY when you want them to come because even though they tell you additional services are free, they lie and they do not honor their contract. My contract clearly states 6 services in 12 months. Highly disappointed in their business practices. read more

I lived with a roommate when these people did door to door sales. Somehow my card was used and charged twice! When I called to let them know I moved and to cancel this service because I didn't authorize my card to be used and I no longer resided there, they proceeded to tell me it was a 48 month contract and they would be charging me a $199 cancellation fee. The representative wanted to argue with me that I signed a contract. Nope, wasn't me! She said she emailed me a copy of the contract. Funny thing was it was not my email that it was sent to. It was the roommate who signed up for the services email where I wouldn't ever get the notification. read more

Aptive driver was very aggressive on the road in the middle of high traffic. Cut off multiple people including myself to then just swerve around them and squeeze in between another set of cars. I'm not sure if the Pesticides need to be well shaken before they arrive at location, but this is not the way to go about doing that. read more
