This dish was also very delicious! The atmosphere was nice and the staff was nicer. I would recommend trying this restaurant out. The breakfast buffet in the morning was also pretty good. It has a wide array of options and is much higher quality than most hotel breakfasts.

This specific location was hosting a wedding which was taking most of the attention away from this restaurant. We sat down in a barren dining room and got an almost equally barren menu. We both got mocktails, I got an espresso martini and she got an elderberry lemonade. She got a Cesar salad with skirt steak, and I got a burger with truffle fries. The mocktails were not great. The espresso martini was all bitter and no sweet. The lemonade was the same, though she doesn't like sweet drinks so it worked for her. We waited a good 45 minutes for food. The servers felt bad so they gave each of us a single sourdough roll, warmed up in the microwave with cold butter. A great thought, but also lacking. When food did come out, the salad was mostly stems with a quarter portion of gristled steak on the side. She immediately sent it back, asking for salmon instead. They sent a full salmon dinner in its place, which was much better and presented well. The burger, one of the worst I've had. Unseasoned, frozen, and overcooked with a stale bun and no condiments. The truffle fries were tiny chunks of potato, but seasoned liberally with truffle oil. So at least they got the fries right. The main reason they get the 2 is because the servers understood the mess of a meal we got and did everything in their power to make things right. We were even offered chocolate covered strawberries for dessert delivered to the room we were staying at (we still had to call them 30 minutes before closing to get them, which they delivered right away) this is burger shack food severed at high star hotel prices. I'm fairly confident that the kitchens attention was on the wedding and not us, and it showed in spades. The staff really did make the experience tolerable, but that shouldn't be the experience people should expect.

At this point, you would think, okay, but no, things got even slower. Took at least another twenty minutes to get the entrees. While people are still eating the bus person starts clearing plates. Reaches right across the person next to me as they are bringing a fork full of food up from their plate. Extremely rude. Entrees clears about fifteen minutes later the waiter shows up to take our desert orders. He was asked to bring the check with the desert. He doesn't. Waiting over twenty minutes for coffee, a slice of cake, a slice of cheese cake and two sorbets. Really? So I ask a member of the staff to have our waiter come right away. Never shows up, but the server did come back with the coffee. The waiter finally shows up with the deserts but no check. Again we complain, this time to the Maitre 'd. Not once did anyone say, sorry it took so long.

So a good steakhouse will do the other options exceptionally well too. Particularly the meat. Here, they did not. I like ribeye. That's my favorite. They only offer a 24 oz ribeye, however, and since none of my peeps wanted ribeye (curses on them) I was up a creek. I don't like strip or filet. Didn't want pork. But I do LOVE a wedge salad, and few places have one. Steakhouses generally do. So I was quite happy to have one. Until I had it. They did not do it well. At all. First, the bacon... while it clearly began as a few lovely generous lardons, ended up four over cooked, hard as rocks bacon chunks. The chicken was dry and terribly overcooked. Hard on the edges. I would expect a steakhouse to get the grilled chicken breast correct. And the bacon is inexcusable. When the salad costs $30, you have to nail it. Could I have sent it back? I'm sure I could have. But looking at the neighbors' table, theirs looked the same so I figured what's the point. And I didn't want to be a Karen about a salad in a steakhouse. And I wasn't holding up my table's meal for a redo on a salad. At the end of the day, if you don't get something this simple correct, it is a fail. I'm sorry to say that. Truly. Our party of seven were well taken care of and our selections of specials and regular menu items were all excellent. Appetizers were very good - the calamari was light and crispy and the baked clams were well seasoned and delicious but could benefit from a little crisp under the broiler. The tuna was cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with the wasabi soy ribbon beautifully surrounding the plate. The halibut was perfectly cooked but lacked the spice kick that the picante promised; however the sauce was delicious. This was a wonderful dining experience and we look forward to our return.
