3.5 stars The Green Pineapple is a cute Asian-fusion restaurant in historic Shepherdstown, West Virginia. It's bright, airy and its patrons range from pre-teens, couples, families and retirees. I ordered the bibimbap and enjoyed it, but the "red sauce"/gochujang was a little overwhelming; however, I loved the pickled cucumbers. I also ordered one of the milk teas and was disappointed. I selected Thai Tea and found it to be very bland. The milk tea is more of a blended drink made with powdered creamer. The milk teas would be so much better with just real milk or half and half, but I know high costs for ingredients put a strain on restaurants. I enjoyed the food and would definitely return to try out some of the other dishes, but I the milk tea is not something I'd buy again. read more

Small chic spot in the downtown area! Step inside for a relaxed ambiance. The menu has a lot of options. We tried the blueberry bubble tea tacos, susharito and poke bowl. First, service is slooowww which is unfortunately a regular occurrence. So recommend walking in, place order and walk the Main Street and come back 20 min later.....even the tea took about 15 min. But, once we got the food, it was ok. The steak and kimchi tacos had waaaaay too much of their house sauce and not enough meat. But the meat was flavorful and tender. The poke bowl was very yummy and the serving size was good for one. The susharito was interesting. Basically just a giant sushi roll like a burrito (hence the name). It was interesting and hard to eat. Better off just getting a regular sushi roll. Sooo much rice and instead of a tortilla, a huge seafood wrap. The bubble tea was my favorite part. I would stop in again for a poke bowl and bubble tea , but I'd order first then plan on visiting the town and come back. read more

This place is a classic! Everytime I come here I always get the sushi-rito. The service typically takes a little longer but they are super friendly. The only thing I would say is the rice was a little tough but still edible. I love the inside of the place and it is a perfect place to visit with friends! read more

I've been here numerous times and I've enjoyed the food/drinks. Always picking up a bubble tea (my favorites are the Peach Panther and Post Malone) or going for a Sushirito or the House Quesadilla (the house sauce is amazing). The only thing that's bothered me about this place is that the food takes forever. I've had to wait an hour once for just my quesadilla to be made. That's why I started calling in advance to make my order so I'll just pick it up when ready. The bubble tea, however, is made in a reasonable time. I was craving some korean food and being in West Virginia, there is not too many korean food places. So when I saw this near to my location at the time I had to try it. Walking in, it is a very cute place. It's in a college environment so it's made for a quick grab eatery or a sit down spot to enjoy. It opened at 11 am and we were on the first people in. In ordered their tuna ahi poke and my husband ordered their chicken ramen. For drinks I got the Caribbean Sunset tea with mango balls. The wait was a little long, but we understood because they had just opened and the waiter also said they were short staffed so we didn't complain. Our food then came but they were on to go containers. I'm not sure if when you order you're to specify if we are eating in or out, or because it's a college town the service is meant for to go eatery ware. My husband's soup came in a to go cup. I wasn't a fan of that because it was hard to enjoy a soup full of ramen and I love taking photos of meals, his just wasn't appetizing. He said it was very delicious and aromatic, so at least he enjoyed his meal. My ahi tuna was good. Tons of of the sriracha sauce, it was a little too much because you don't really taste the tuna by it self. I've only had the K-Bowl Ramen because I love ramen and I LOVE all forms of kimchi. The ramen is good and I intend to try the poke bowls and rolls at some point, but always have a hard time passing up the k-bowl. I'm not a bubble tea guy but my family compliments their offerings. read more

I heard good things so I had to try it. I got the chicken and mushrooms Ramen. It was really good but a little pricey about 16 bucks.

We ordered the vegetarian sushi roll. It was very tasty. We would definitely eat it again. I docked a star because we also ordered vegetarian ramen. They got the order wrong and ended up giving us non-vegetarian ramen, which we didn't know until we got home. So, that was a waste. I docked another star because the service speed was bad. It took about twice as long as predicted. I don't mind waiting, but I like to be prepared to wait rather than having to surprise-wait outside the door with more than ten other waiting customers in 100F heat. :/ read more

The WORST "poke" I've ever had. I wasn't expecting Hawaiian quality, but lord I was expecting at least a little seasoning on my fish! It was literally a bowl of undercooked rice, avocado, nori, and tuna without ANY seasoning. I mean no soy sauce, garlic, or even salt. They didn't even provide packets of soy sauce, my friend had to ask as I was staring at my bowl in disbelief. Even with my packet soy sauce I could only eat two spoonfuls, it was awful. I seriously couldn't tell if it was a lazy menu option thrown in there or they truly just don't know what makes a good bowl of poke. We had a very nice lunch and boba tea here with our one year old. Being from northern VA, we were a little skeptical about Asian food in West Virginia. This definitely exceeded our expectations. There are numerous boba options, including more of a tea base and more of a milky base. We got the Violet Beauregard (blueberry plus taro). It was delicious, but it was also a straight up milkshake. My husband got the tacos and loved them. I got the japchae and added Korean beef. The beef and the kimchi were great. The noodles themselves were a little off and tasted too much like peanut butter. The place is very cute and modern, but very loud. It's also very clean and has good presentation. The menu is written on a giant chalkboard but not everything is available, even though it's on the board. Service was good. The young lady who helped us was nice and efficient. The food was meh and oops. I ordered the grilled cheese with bacon and kimchi and the green pineapple roll. The grilled cheese was okay. I only had two bites abs gave up. I hate leaving negative reviews but hoping this is constructive criticism for the owners. We have passed by this several times when we drive through town but always head to Alma Bee. Today we decided to try something different and were very disappointed in how long we had to wait for our food. They didn't seem that busy with food orders but we waited at least 50 minutes for 2 rolls and Bib Bim Bap. Even a busy Korean restaurant would have such a simple order up in no time. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen. When our food finally came out it seemed like my Bib Bim Bap was sitting around for awhile. Rolls were decent but nothing special. This place is really good! One of the only places you can eat ramen in West Virginia. Unfortunately, the ramen is so popular it was sold out today! But the food we ordered was still delicious. I ordered the manager's meal. My fiancé ordered the alien OG roll and the sativa roll. I get full quickly so he ended up eating all of it. But it was delicious! The bubble tea is good too. Tried Green Pineapple for the first time this week, and I had to go back two days later because I couldn't get that food out of my mind. I'm a keto person, so I ordered build-a-bowl with pork belly and pickled veg. Love the iced tea as well. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They were very patient helping me navigate the extensive menu. Love the atmosphere - vintage leather booths, good music system and air conditioning. Very relaxing. Family friendly. Great for lunch. I went here on a Sunday evening for takeout. It wasn't very busy. There was someone eating at the high top table and 3 people behind me in line. The staff are friendly, the process for ordering was quick and easy, and I got my order in a reasonable amount of time. I asked if the sushiritos were filling enough to make a meal out of them; the woman at the register said yes, so I ordered the White Widow sushirito. It was delicious! I'd definitely come back just for that and to try other rolls. We saw a billboard in Martinsburg and decided to try it. It is a super small location with minimal parking options, which you expect in downtown Shephardstown. It is take put only right now. The reason I am giving this place just 1 star is because we waited 45 minutes for 2 bowls of raman. When we did get it, the broth was in a separate container from the rest of the ingredients, but the noodles were really overdone and the "wygu" beef had the consistency and taste of rehydrated jerky and the broth was severely underseasoned and bland. We paid $10 for a $5 bowl of soup. The bubble tea was good, but we waited 20 minutes for that in cups were the lids on both cups leaked. read more

I've been to Green Pineapple once prior to my most recent visit, and I had a great experience. However, what my friend and I were met with today left us both with incredible disappointment. As soon as we walk in, the girl behind the counter did not acknowledge us whatsoever. Isn't this the first step in customer service of any quality? The chalkboard menus are awesome and creative, but as we were discussing what to order the girl interrupted us by rudely interjecting, "yeah we don't have, like, half of the things on the menu right now." I understand everyone is having supply chain issues currently, and I am not holding that against Green Pineapple whatsoever, but the presentation of that information was less than unpleasant. Another patron came in, and she went to wait on him and completely disregarded us despite the fact that we were there first. When we did order, we asked for ramen, to which we were not-so-courteously informed that they were completely out for the day. Instead, we order two bowls: the Manager Meal and the BiBimBap. They were both incredibly lackluster. The house sauce on the Manager Meal was like a low-quality supermarket Yum Yum Sauce. We also each got Bubble Tea, which was honestly the only reason I'm not giving this place a One-Star Review. Their bubble tea is their best quality. However, the most disappointing part of our experience was by far the customer service (or lack thereof). The girl working was exceptionally unpleasant to interact with the entirety of our visit, and I after what we experienced today neither me nor my friend will be returning. read more

It's unfortunate that WV locals think that this is what bubble tea should taste like - Green Pineapple served the worst "bubble tea" I've ever had. Firstly, they forgot to add the boba in my matcha milk tea. The matcha powder was awful and wasn't traditional powder. When asked what type of milk they use, the cashier said "normal" milk. When pressed further, she says, "I think whole." My friend ordered the taro bubble tea and he was actually served boba - which was tasteless with a terrible plastic texture. My other friend ordered the lemon gelato that turned out tasting like flavorless cream that barely had lemon extract flavor tossed in. Also, the store should immediately take down the huge "Acai Bowl" section from their in store chalkboard menu. Customer Service - Customer Service is OK. I was the only person in the restaurant this day yet the employee was not very willing to step away from her counter. Each table does not have napkins or utensils so don't forget to grab them after purchasing your food, they will not bring it to you! Food - I ordered the KBowl and it was OK. Nothing amazing or extraordinary about it. I felt like I could have made this with a Maruchan Cup of Noodles and added meat, corn and Kimchi. It was a bit too salty for me. Drink - I ordered a Green Pineapple drink and it was PERFECT. Very refreshing and not too sweet. If you some here I highly recommend thing. Overall, I wasn't impressed with this place. After today's experience I'm not sure I will ever come back. Ordered a tea, was just watered down milk with no flavor. Orders a second tea for my daughter and they put the wrong boba in with no explanation. Food. Ordered the same bowl I do for lunch. Completely made different. Looked like the pork belly was just scrapings from a bottom of a pan. So much sesame oil on the rice that it was all you could taste. When I brought it up to the staff they took the bowl and said I had to wait on the owner. So we waited. The owner never came so we left. This review comes after multiple times of coming here and having an insane wait. Each time they say the kitchen is backed up, but there will be a couple staff up front near the cashier/drinks area, on their phones just waiting for people to come in. The restaurant was half full, not completely overwhelming. All and all I waited 50 minutes for 2 items. This was also at like 2pm during the day, so not a normal lunch rush. This place is ridiculous. The running joke with my family is "do they even want to be in business?" We tried three times to order food from here. The first time we called ahead of time to make sure they were open and they confirmed they were and when we got there it was closed - even though we got there in time. Yesterday we went there at 3:30 and they were open but said they weren't serving food until 4:30. Today we got there at 5:15 and they said they closed the kitchen at 5:00.
