I admit I was skeptical that the food would be authentic, but I was pleasantly surprised. Our server, Audrey, was excellent. She greeted us promptly and politely. We ordered the cafe sua da, Vietnamese iced coffee. It was okay. I'm not positive it was fresh-dripped, but it tasted good. The fresh summer rolls were freshly rolled and delicious. We both ordered the pho with rare beef and meatballs. It was nearly as good as my mother's. I was so impressed with the pho that I decided to order two bahn mi sandwiches to go. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. We arrived around 10:30 and it was quiet. I'm thrilled to find a lovely place to get my Viet fix when we travel up 81. Give them a try. I think even my mother would have approved.

The fried rice was absolutely tasteless. The cubed pieces of onion were barely cooked. Neither were the bean sprouts. I ate 2 spoons of it and tossed it. The chicken wings were overly cooked to the point they were hard. Even the meat of the wing was cooked hard. No review of the shrimp toast. It was for my mother and she didn't comment. However, she only ate 1 piece. This was a total waste of 50$ yes, 50$ for 2 SMALL fried rice, 4 fried wings, an order of shrimp toast and sweet and sour chicken, most of which went in the garbage.

Our server greeted us right away with hot tea and explained a few items on the menu since it was our first time here. The menu was impressive. Plenty of options but not overwhelming either. We ended up splitting a "real California roll" (10/10), wonton soup (9/10), kung pao chicken (9/10), and lo mein (10/10). Service 100/10. Didn't catch her name but she was awesome and never let our drinks run dry. This was a huge upgrade compared to dining at the steakhouse the last time we came to Charlestown. I will give them another try one day but if you're between the two I would recommend going to 9 Dragons. This was the best meal we've had in a long time!
