Apple yogurt drink
Ches D.

I would give this restaurant a 3.5/5. Service was good and attentive, and the ambiance was chill. The Korean fried chicken and the grilled pork belly were definitely the best items on the table, extra crispy and flavorful. The kimchi fried rice was very dry, had far too much chicken, and needed to be topped with an egg. The other dishes were good, and the side dishes were excellent. I especially enjoyed the mini apple flavored yogurt drink our waitress gave us with the check, it was refreshing on a hot summer day. Will have to come back to try different menu items someday.

This is one of my favorite authentic korean restaurants in Pittsburgh! I'm a Korean American and their food reminds me of my mom's cooking it's so yummy! They go above and beyond every time we dine here. Everything on the menu is so good and the kimchi is HOMEMADE! 10000/10

We went to this place on a Saturday night. It was almost empty. We were greeted and seated immediately. The ambiance was nice and pleasant. The service was so friendly and attentive and timely. We enjoyed a bunch of dishes from their menu. All were well prepared and tasty. We enjoyed our dinner. It's a good place for a casual Korean meal if you are around the location.

Spicy seafood rice cake and instant noodle.

Among three dishes, beef bone soup was the best. The spicy seafood rice cake & instant noodle did give us a cake but with all those frozen seafood smell. The dumplings tofu soup was ok, didn't hit the spot. Service was good.

Delicious place!! Came here after getting tea up the street and it was so good! Service was fast and so nice! It is pricier but the portions are huge! Clean inside and wasn't very busy when we went!

Have ordered several times from Green Pepper but it's our first dine-in experience. It's actually quite nice. Their dishes are delicious as usual. The restaurant is spacious. I love that they have some Korean drinks as options. The serving speed is also fast. Will come back again.

Pork belly

Super solid Korean spot in the middle of town! Didn't expect the food to be this good. Not the best I've had and slightly overpriced for the portions but it definitely hit the spot. Pork belly was nicely charred and slightly crispy on the outside. The small pickled side dishes were on point as well. We even got to try chicken feet which was the first time we'd ever seen that outside of dim sum. Was interesting but probably won't order that again. Lots of street parking right outside on a Tuesday night. Nice and spacious inside. Good service. Will definitely be back.

Spicy pork. Taste good but the meat cut is different from the photo on uber eats. See next one for the displayed photo.

I got the spicy pork, it was good but they use meat cuts that are different from uber eats photo.

Bibimbap with beef

Great food, but complicated ordering system and very high prices. All but one or two entrees were priced at over $20. For the smaller and simpler dishes like soondubu or kimchi fried rice, this seemed overpriced. To order, you had to scan a QR code at the table, place your order, and then create an account to pay if you were paying with something besides Apple Pay. The extra step of making an account was a little annoying. Our group paid separately which provided to be a challenge. When people scanned the same QR code, all items added to the same cart regardless of which device was used to add the entree. So we each had to take turns ordering and check out so we could pay separately. The waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating to our group and everyone was satisfied with their food.

Another great Korean staple in Pittsburgh! First time coming here in person, though I frequently order on meal delivery apps. The seating seemed quite ample. Upon being seated, we were directed to get our own utensils, water, etc. from a station on the side. The seafood pancake was satisfyingly fried and crunch, and the bibimbap also crisped up nicely in a hot stone pot. Will definitely continue to order from here!

Ever since my friend took me here last year, I have gone here anytime I have the excuse to. I remember the first time my friend introduced me to the place, she ate there two other times in the same week because of how much she liked the food there. This place used to be a self-serve place with drinks and cutlery but now has a server to seat you and grab your water and utensils. The food here is amazing. I've had everything including the Korean Saucy Chicks, Chive Pancake Roll, Garl Bee, Bibim Bop, Spicy Seafood Soon Doo Boo, and Job Chae from what I can remember. If you only want to order one thing, get the Spicy Seafood Soon Doo Boo. I cannot tell you the number of times I've ordered this. It's the perfect combination of warm and somewhat spicy broth with soft tofu and seafood. They even pair it with rice to slowly put into the broth and eat together. I can't even count how many times I've even UberEats this when I've been just craving it or down in the dumps because of school work or life in general. Definitely one of my comfort foods. The vibe here is pretty cozy. Some tables have regular wooden chair seats, but the larger tables have couches as part of the seating, which is homey. They also play random kpop music, but I don't mind it much, just background noise when the food comes. I would definitely recommend this place, and I am going to keep coming back here again!

Spicy Cold Noodles (vegetarian)
Kelly L.

High price for mediocre food. First of all, you don't get any banchan. I got the fried chicken appetizer, cold noodles, and bibimbap. The fried chicken was probably the best out of the three. It was crispy and came with a lot sauce. I feel like it was too much sauce, though. The cold noodles had a nice texture but the sauce/soup was pretty off. It had a strong tomato-y taste to it instead of the sweet/spicy that I was expecting. The bibimbap came with tons of beef, which was nice. However, it was lacking in the variety of toppings. I feel like kimchi is usually given as a topping for bibimbap but it did not have any. Lastly, the rice was so mushy and overall just not great.

Unlike some other hot pot places I've been to, this place only charges for one pot and not for the food you get. I ordered everything that was available and it was all better then the last. I would especially recommend the pork, it was delicious! I had 3 orders of it. As I mentioned before, the food is delicious! While I couldn't get a photo, there was also a sauce bar. You had the option to get a premade one or get your own. I chose to make a teriyaki sauce and it was amazing! Definitely recommend checking it out while waiting for food to arrive. The waiter was so nice, I didn't catch his name but rest assured all of the staff is so nice and kind! They are very informative and know what dishes are good and bad. Now for the part that is hardest to nail down, the restaurant ambiance. I normally don't write about ambiance because to describe an amazing place to someone with just a few words is hard to do, but I felt I had to do it for this one. The restaurant looks very authentic and it is clear that they respect the culture that they represent.

It came with 3 side dishes of bean sprouts, kimchi, and broccoli. I quite liked each of the side dishes. The bean sprouts were soooo good! The soondoobu was very typical, slightly sweet, slightly spicy. I would like if there was a bit more soup and less things so I could put my rice in more. The galbi gui was very yummy and had a nice bbq flavor. I would say the portions are SMALL for the prices. I was very suprised when it came and the galbi was the side of my hand. The bowl for the tofu soup was also very small. For $26 and $18 respectively I thought it should be at least a little bigger. I honestly thought it was a cheaper lunch portion. From the moment I looked at the menu, my instincts told me this place would outshine many of the nearby Korean restaurants and I was right! The first bite of the fresh and flavorful banchan (side dishes) immediately proved it. This small family-owned restaurant delivers genuine hospitality and warm service, if not efficient. We tried the seafood pancake, marinated kalbi(beef), tofu/seafood spicy stew, dolsot bibimbap w/chicken(mixed rice with vegetables in a clay pot), grilled mackerel, and pork bossam( lettuce wrap with braised pig's feet). Everything was absolutely delicious except for the bossam, which was a bit too fatty for our taste. Still, my family of five thoroughly enjoyed the experience of dining at this authentic Korean spot. It's a wonderful place for family gatherings, dinner with friends, or even dining solo. They do not have a liquor license, and while walk-ins are welcome, reservations are recommended for larger parties. Definitely worth a visit!

My favorite was the Japchae glass noodles. I've been to restaurants in the past where the noodles end up being too sticky but these had the perfect consistency and delicious sesame flavor. I will note that it was a little warm in the restaurant so in the summer combined spiciness would be an experience, but the food was worth it in my opinion.

Novo Asian Food Hall is a collection of Asian food, drinks, and desserts in the Strip District, specifically located in the Terminal building. There are individual restaurants and businesses serving their specific cuisine. There is a bar in the center of the floor, a non-alcoholic drink place, a bakery, and several restaurants. At the time of this visit, there were 4 different food stands, 1 tea/drink stand, 1 bakery stand, and the bar area. There is not specific designated parking for the Food Hall, but there is paid parking all around the Terminal building. Additionally, there are other options for street and paid lot parking throughout the Strip. There are several entrances to Novo - from the Terminal side on Smallman Street, from the back side of the building, and also a side entrance if you are already in the Terminal. The Food Hall is very large, and is easily identified with the signage. We stopped in on this night a little before 8 PM, and it was not too crowded. There were patrons for the restaurants and at the bar, but there were still plenty of seats all around the place. There are high and low top tables all around the dining room, and there is even bar seating in the center. You can sit wherever you please, as it is open seating. There are water pitchers and cups placed near the trash cans that are available for use by anyone in the Hall. On this trip, we purchased food from KungFu Chicken and Tan Vac Lien 2. Everything we had was good! It is nice to be able to mix and match different foods from the various stands to create a meal. I like to try new items from the different stands each time I visit the Food Hall. However, I have found some favorites that I find myself going back to each time (Fishcake Corn Dog!) The prices throughout Novo vary depending on which stand you are at. Some items can be a little pricy, but overall I believe the pricing is fair. A plus of being able to get such a variety of items is that you can share with a group, which may help to keep the cost manageable. Novo has good hours, but not all the stands are always all open at the same time. So, I would double check the place you wish to go will be open during your visit. Overall, I really like Novo Asian Food Hall, both conceptually and in practice. This has been a fun addition to the Strip, and I have enjoyed getting to try lots of different foods and cuisine during my visits. My only critique/note is that I hope that the vacancy of one of the stands can be filled quickly to add even more options and variety. I would recommend stopping here if you are looking for authentic Asian cuisine with a fun, social atmosphere. I look forward to trying even more of the options here during my future visits!

I wouldn't really call this a supper club to be honest but the place definitely carries a house music bar vibe and the back bar area and seating is very dimly lit, perfect for cozying up and enjoying a drink late night. The ladies' room was so dark, I mistook it for a storage area because I could only make out a white ladder in the corner that was being used as cute shelving. The place is seat yourself. Our waiter was not super friendly and didn't offer to give us napkins or anything when our wobbly table caused our drinks to splash all over the place. The cook served our chicken with a big smile and happy interaction and we really loved his personality. The bartender also stopped by to bus our table and he was very pleasant as well. We enjoyed the perfectly fried small plate cauliflower with the plum sauce and the fried cheese/garlic wonton bites with the sriracha mayo spicy dipping sauce. The fried chicken breast on the large plate was slightly overcooked with a maple gochuchang sauce that was very bland. We were so thankful that the large plate fried chicken came with a side salad to offer some respite from the heaviness of the fried dishes. It would have been great to have some side acidic or fresh vegetable options like Kimchi or something. Maybe we tried the wrong dishes and there are other not fried things that are delicious? The dirty martini cocktail was just so-so, not really much flavor at all, but the mojito was very good and refreshing. It's probably a good late-night place for a bite and drink.
