DuPage Radon Contractors - Great Prices on Top Quality Radon Systems

DuPage Radon Contractors

The motor in my radon fan was failing and needed replacement. It is less than 3 months outside the…read more5 year warranty. I called DuPage Radon and the very nice woman who answered the phone made it sound like they might cover it, but when she talked to her boss, he said no. Their quote to replace the unit was $400 (they were originally paid approximately $1,200 five years ago) and the soonest they could do it was New Year's Eve. I was able to find the exact same model radon fan at Home Depot for $150 and it literally took me no more than 15 minutes to remove the old unit (and I've never done this before). I'll install the new one when it arrives in the next few days. I don't know about you, but $500 an hour for labor seems excessive to me. Obviously I'm in the wrong profession. Meanwhile, I'm going to remove the DuPage Radon sticker from the cover just out of spite.

After another recommended contractor never bothered calling me back, I requested an online quote…read morefro DuPage Radon Contractors. An excellent exerience from start to finish. Tim the designed called me back the next day and scheduled an appointment to come and assess the housse. Our radon level had been testing between 6 and 8. Tom did a thorough assessment inside and out and created a proposal including a sketch of the installation, including the EXACT cost, which was just under $2000 - very reasonable. I was impressed that they use a large diameter downspout (matching our existing downspout color) extending to the roof line instead of PVC pipe. They also install a housing over the outside fan unit which looks great. They also seal the sump pump with a new lid and seal all the cracks around the perimiter of the basement. The technician Jorge came out two weeks later and performed the entire install. He was amazing! He explained everything, and left it all very clean. Very professional and courteous. I retested the radon level a couple of days later and it tested at .27!!!!!I HIGHLY recommend Dupage Radon Contractors. You will not be disappointed.

Accurate Safety Solutions - Accurate Radon - Sealed Sump Pit Cover with Custom Plexiglass Window

Accurate Safety Solutions - Accurate Radon

Don't use this service!…read more We were told that the service guy would wear a face mask while in our house Servicing our radon equipment and sump pump that was installed by accurate radon a few years back. We informed the owner, Rich Whiisler, mitigation professional, That I am a high-risk due to my health situation for COVID-19, and inquired if we could put the service off till later due to this fact. Rich said that could be for two years, and they had all the safety measures in place and the service guy would wear a face mask while in the house to protect himself & us, and would only go into the basement areas that had the sump pump and the radon equipment. That is still walking through our entire basement downstairs, which is our carpeted and finished family room. We were told by Rich NOT to go in the basement while the service guy will be servicing the sump pump and radon equipment and to wait three days to wipe down the sump pump room and the radon equipment that may have been touched. Rich also stated the service guy would be using our bathroom to wash his hands with soap and water. I said I did not want the service guy to use our bathroom to wash his hands but to have him bring hand sanitizer instead. Rich stated it is better that he would use water and soap because it gets rid of the germs easier, but he would have him use hand sanitizer instead. What Rich did NOT share with us Is, that the service guy would be taking his face mask off while in the basement servicing the sump pump and the radon equipment. We have an open basement, with no door to close, which is actually our carpeted and finished family room. While we were upstairs, the service guy was servicing our sump pump area and radon equipment in our Open family room basement. We heard him coughing down in our finished family room basement. It was observed, that the service guy had his face mask pulled down under his chin. We called Rich and requested the check to be returned to us. Also, that he never mentioned to us that the service guy would be allowed to take his mask off once he was in the basement. That was never told to us. If Rich would have told us, that the service guy would be allowed to take his face mask off once he was in our finished family room basement, we would have never allowed this service in our home. This was a breach of trust and honesty and I would not recommend anyone using this service. It has put me at a risk even higher for the COVID-19.

Rich was polite and knowledgeable. The radon reduction was very effective, dropped from a 5 to a…read more.7. The aesthetics of the system were sufficient. The reason for 3 stars includes the price being higher than the average, even though he did run more piping, I thought the price was a little steep. Also the fan enclosure is mounted directly to the house siding which results in noticeable humming.

Real Seal Basement Waterproofing & Foundation Repair

The team was professional, explained the whole process clearly, and showed up right on time. They sealed the crack quickly and neatly. I regret having to post this because Real Seal has done good work in the past, but unfortunately…read morethis experience was different. I called them about water intrusion into our ground level bedroom. They diagnosed the water issue as two foundation cracks and charged $1,700 for the repair plus a $250 overtime fee. The work was completed and done satisfactorily, but the actual source turned out to be a leaking water heater not the cracks. Yes, the repairs could be considered necessary in the long run, but there was no need to expedite this repair. Their recommendation was an educated guess rather than a proper diagnostic process to ensure the two cracks were the actual source of water intrusion. I was trusting their professional service to provide an accurate diagnostic. When I requested a refund of the overtime fee only (given the cracks were not actively leaking) and a goodwill discount (given the damages I incurred due to time wasted, since this was not actually the problem), they offered to remove a $100 late payment fee I didn't even know existed and a $50 goodwill discount. The offer is something, but it fell short, especially because the director was curt and seemed more interested in closing out the conversation than actually resolving a legitimate complaint. Get a second opinion before agreeing to any foundation work. EDITED IN RESPONSE TO COMPANY DOUBLING DOWN... I appreciate the response but I would like to expand on a few of the comments made. While Saturday was accommodating, it was only necessary due to the incorrect diagnosis. Your team tried to schedule me a week and a half out. I asked if they could do better. Your team then offered Saturday. It wasn't for my convenience, it was a necessity as a result of your diagnosis. My walls were supposedly actively leaking water, of course I wanted this done as soon as possible. If this was correctly diagnosed, I could've had the cracks repaired anytime. Additionally, you specifically told me on the phone, this $250 fee was directly for a technician's overtime, which in your words, "is why you cannot refund it." Not a standard Saturday service fee, as you've now stated publicly. In regards to the $100 late payment fee, while it may be outlined in the contract, a courtesy reminder would have been appropriate given I was not onsite for the repair and never received a final invoice on the day of service. How was I expected to pay within the terms without ever receiving a bill? Your response also confirms my original review. Your diagnosis was based on another company's assessment rather than your own independent verification. A proper diagnostic process would have verified that water was NOT actually entering through the cracks. Yes, the cracks were there, but no, they were not actively leaking. Hence my request to remove the "service fee." I hired you to stop the water intrusion, not simply repair my foundation. The water heater was the actual source.
