My perception is that once our inspector set the foot in our door he had already decided that there…read moreis no mold in this home. Our condo is new and clean, I did not look super sick so I almost felt like I had to justify myself why I'm worried about mold. Like what are my symptoms, could it be from something else? Could the mycotoxins found in my urine be from food instead? Those were questions I was asked by the inspector before the inspection even started. Once I told him about the water leakage in our bathroom, he missed the still wet spot. He didn't rule there might mold behind the ceiling but overall didn't seem very concerned. We later cut out the drywall and found mold on the other side of the drywall and in the insulation. We mostly had this inspection done to confirm and gain deeper knowledge on what we already knew. I might be wrong but my impression is that if I wouldn't have had all this knowledge already - past water leak in the bathroom and still partially wet, elevated mycotoxin levels in urine - and let's say we had just the mold inspection done to rule out mold as the root cause of some of my health issues, the inspection would have come back with no findings. And I would have moved on missing the root cause of my issues.
