Discovery Inspection Services was very friendly and easy to schedule the inspection with. Prompt with responses and helpful when you had questions. The company does charge a service fee if you pay with a credit card. However, they have several other options such as cash, check, and Zelle that you can use without any additional fee! Do not use.... If I could put 0 stars, I would. Not a very thorough inspection. A lot of things they don't inspect and the things they do, they can't stand behind it. The appliances he inspected and said no issues in his report was inaccurate. Within weeks of closing 3 appliances were having issues. Was verbally told by Jeremy that the appliances would be covered under the warranty. I reported it to the 90 day warranty program and they denied the claims even though it was inspected and written tha.t they were working. Additionally, he stated to me and my realtor one set of things and put in his report a completely different assessment. Mind baffling. When I pressed him on this, he started to backtrack. Jeremy was able to quickly schedule a home inspection when our offer was accepted late on a Sunday evening. We pulled up on time for our appointment and he was already on the roof taking a look! Throughout the inspection he provided updates on what he was seeing and gave us recommendations for how to deal with each item. This was all also covered in his detailed report. A neat and clean inspector who put on booties, found things that were not obvious and made sure every single problem was detailed in his report. So impressed and I've bought and sold 11 houses in the past 10 years. I was worried since the two in Cook county went poorly. But this company went out of their way to make sure I new every single problem with the home. Turns out, there was a gas leak, illegal venting on the gas lines, and water leaks in the walls. I am probably like you looking for great reviews on Yelp before hiring a company and yet remaining skeptical if the reviews are true and legit. I am not a yelper, in fact this is my first time to write a review. We hired Jeremy to do a comprehensive pre-listing inspection on our house back in January 2018 so we could have a clear picture of the condition of the house and make necessary repairs before putting it on the market in spring.
