I've been working with Jane Ehlert for several years now, and she continues to exceed my expectations every time. Most recently, she helped me secure amazing new tenants in just one weekend! Jane provided great recommendations on what to fix and update to get faster results, and she was right on point. She's incredibly professional, responsive, and an absolute pleasure to work with. I trust her judgment completely and truly appreciate her dedication. If you're looking for someone who knows the market and gets results quickly, Jane is the one! read more

Cheryl with Mark Allen Realty is one of the kindest and most helpful people I've ever met. As a first time home buyer, she helped walk us through every step of the process and really took the time to understand exactly what we needed. Excellent Realty to work with. Very honest and very knowledgeable. I would totally recommend them .

Highly recommended! Matt, with help from Blaze and the rest of the staff, is an excellent agent. I both sold my condo and bought a new one, and the process went as smooth as it possibly could. Matt had great insights on how to stage and price my condo which went under contract in a week. As we were looking at new condos, he had insights into the neighborhoods and features we were looking for. I came away from each showing feeling like I had learned something. We ultimately purchased a new condo that was beyond our expectations! Overall, great to work with, fantastic team, and fun! read more

Matt Liss has helped us sell and buy several properties in the Chicago area. He and his team have done an outstanding job not only finding buyers for our properties but advising, advertising and helping us stage all our properties to find the appropriate buyers. His group works also with a very reasonable law firm call Bell & Shah that provides outstanding services. read more

Kelsey and Joe did an amazing job for us during a difficult time. I can't speak highly enough of Fadi Matalka as our real estate agent. His professionalism, knowledge, honesty, integrity and hard work ethics are very much appreciated and respected. He is detail oriented, honest, good with people and has a knack for matching the tenant with the owner.... making it the perfect fit for your home. From the first time I reached out to Fadi, he answered immediately and from there on out he was very responsive. He was a true professional. During negotiations I always felt like Fadi had my best interest in mind. I have and will continue to recommend him to all of my family and friends. read more

Matt Liss and the rest of the Mark Allen Realty team are great. We ended up buying the first place that Matt showed us, but he took the time to show us a dozen or more additional properties over the next couple months as we made our decision. Matt is super helpful with every step of the process, and know about everyone in the industry which comes in handy in various ways. The icing on the cake is, when our lawyer missed something and the seller owed us several hundred dollars after we closed, the Mark Allen team covered the cost after the seller ghosted us. If you're looking for a super knowledgeable, experienced, connected realtor, this is where you want to go. read more

I had a great experience with Matt Liss, with purchasing a single family home and selling a condo. I did a ton of research before choosing a realtor and Matt exceeded my expectations across all of the dimensions I considered. Matt is incredibly knowledgeable about micro-neighborhoods of Chicago and helped us understand why certain blocks were more desirable than others, pointing out the pros / cons of certain locations. At a specific property level, Matt would do the same, pointing out features or downsides that we had not seen or considered. As a result, when we chose a home to put an offer on, we felt like we were making a fully informed and considered decision, which gave us huge peace of mind. Throughout the whole process, we also never felt pressured to make a quick decision. Matt was interested in me and my husband finding the perfect home for us, no matter how long that took or how many properties we saw. And when we got into bidding and negotiations, Matt leveraged his relationships to find out more information and guide us along the way. On the sale side, Matt had his photographer come out multiple times so we could make sure we had the perfect pictures for our listing (e.g., capturing deck images while it was still nice out before the rest of the condo was ready to photograph). And he made the process incredibly convenient, deploying his team on multiple occasions to meet contractors (e.g., house cleaners, stagers, etc.) so that we would not have to make a trip back to our old place to let them all in. We loved working with Matt. Hopefully we are not buying and selling again soon, but if we were, we would choose Matt in a heartbeat. He is truly an expert in his field and made a difficult process more seamless. read more

Howie is a rare find in the real estate market. He was able to seamlessly guide me through the process and price the market appropriately. His guidance led to multiple offers on my property and aligned perfectly with my timeline. Howie served as counselor, therapist and master negotiator managing the sales process delivering and exceeding the results I was after! His years of experience are apparent to those who work with him and he has deep relationships where and when you need them. I highly recommend Howie if you are looking for an exceptional and experienced support on the sale of your property! read more

Matt Liss was my wife and I's realtor, and was fantastic at every step along the way. From the beginning of our search, to finding out our personal wants/needs, to lending his decades of experience in real estate while viewing properties - from the day we met to closing day. I could not write a better review for Matt. Matt was very patient while we learned about what we wanted, and never pushed us into anything. Countless times he looked out for our best interests when viewing properties, and took charge of finding us the home we desired. It is rare to find someone as dedicated as Matt in any industry, and I completely trust him with our best interests. I highly recommend his services and will use him for all our future real estate dealings. read more

My wife and I bought our first home in May 2021 with Matt Liss as our realtor. Choosing a realtor was difficult. We didn't want someone who would always agree with us and just seek a commission. We wanted someone who would be brutally honest with us and help us make the right decision. And that's what we found with Matt: during the entire process he was very honest and wanted what was best for us. He never put any pressure on us, but he did convince us to explore different property types and specifically duplex downs, which we had not considered. And of course we ended up purchasing a duplex-down which we love. Personality wise, Matt is great: he's very direct, doesn't sugar coat things and truly wants the best for you. We had done a lot of research and work prior to working with a realtor, so we had many questions for Matt. He was able to answer them clearly. If you put a lot of effort into the process and come to Matt with clear questions and "what would YOU do if you were us" type of questions, you will get a lot out of him. He made us feel good about our decisions throughout the entire process. Also, Matt has a great sense of humor which is always good! From a business perspective: Matt knows his stuff. He knows Chicago perfectly, knows everything you can imagine about a house (the contractor side, electricity, plumbing etc.) and he will teach you things as you tour houses/condos. If a house is overpriced, or if he doesn't feel good about a property or notices issues, he'll tell you right away. On top of that, he pointed us towards people he trusts when we needed a lawyer, a mortgage officer etc., and they were all very nice and professional. Having this "team" working together made the process easier. In terms of communications: we knew Matt was busy, but he still answered our texts/emails very quickly, which was great. Overall, I would recommend Matt and work with him again in the future. read more

My husband and I are first time homebuyers and used Amanda at mark allen realty for our purchase. This review is long overdue, as we had a great experience buying a condo with Matt Liss of Mark Allen Realty back in 2015. But Matt really outdid himself when we recently sold our condo and bought a single family home in the very hot Logan Square market. First, on the buying side. Matt really knows Logan, and provided the right combination of hand holding and gentle nudges about our house preferences and budget. He got us thinking about what we really wanted and needed in a home, and helped us narrow down our seemingly unlimited list of potential properties (a greystone two flat? a bigger duplex condo? a strange diy nightmare house?) to what actually made sense for us. After a year of looking, we finally landed a perfect house and we couldn't be happier. Matt was an expert at all the negotiations necessary for a house purchase, and was willing to help us out with a few extras like lead water testing during the inspection period. We bought feeling really confident we'd made the right choice, despite being massively indecisive by nature. Second, on the selling side. Matt worked with Alyse to get our property sold almost instantly, despite another unit in our building being on the market and the condo market having slowed down substantially. Matt set us up with a staging consultation that helped us to see our property objectively from a seller's eyes and guided us in making some strategic updates that would show the property in its best light. Alyse handled the open house and showings wonderfully, and the system of text alerts for any showings and changes made our lives much easier. We had an offer the first weekend on the market and an easy close. Overall, I absolutely recommend Matt, Alyse, and their team to anyone looking to buy or sell a property in Chicago. read more

We recently had the pleasure of using Amanda Edwards of Mark Allen Realty to sell our Lincoln Park condo. She is knowledgeable of the real estate market and proficient at getting the sale done. She facilitated the early release of a lease and a quick and problem free closing. read more

Matt helped us sell our first condo and buy our new one. What I appreciate most about Matt is his honesty - he wasn't rushing us through the process, and he actually discouraged us from making certain offers on places that didn't fit our needs. He never encouraged us to overbid, and he talked through the pros and cons of each place that we looked at. On the sell side, he put in so much effort - he arranged for quality photos, he has us meet with a consultant to prepare our home for sale, and he was always quick to respond. Matt's colleague, Alyse, also helped us during the buy and the sell, and she was fantastic as well. Finally, Matt connected us with an amazing broker, Barry, who was equally as responsive and competent. Overall, I would give Matt and his team more than five stars if I could. The only warning that I would give is to avoid Matt's recommended legal counsel - we had a less than stellar experience with Bell Law. read more

I worked with Matt and he was very knowledgeable about the city and buildings throughout. He had great tips on what to avoid when buying as well as helping during negotiations and through the whole process. He was very responsive and the other realtors are also great since they helped with some showings when Matt was out of town. Would definitely work with them again! read more

With 2021 shaping up to be one of the toughest markets for buyers in years, you want a real estate agent who is willing to push and fight for you to get your dream home. Look no further than Joe and his team at Mark Allen Realty. From the moment we meet Joe, we felt comfortable and loved the way he approached our search. As first-time home buyers, we had tons of questions and changed our minds several times on which suburb we wanted to move to. Joe was patient, insightful and I can't stress this enough - incredibly responsive. If there was a home that came up that we wanted to see, we often had an appointment the same day or first thing the next day, which was hugely critical considering the low inventory. As lifelong Chicagoans, he helped us better understand the different dynamics of the suburbs and was incredibly knowledgeable of every area we were looking. When we ended up making an offer on our house, we had to do it fast and Joe made sure we understood the entire process. He worked diligently with a difficult seller to cancel all future appointments and accept our offer - the same day. From that point we worked closely with our mortgage team (who was recommended by Joe and we would also highly recommend - Guaranteed Rate) and the lawyers. Joe coordinated closely with everyone and kept us informed every step of the way (we again, had a lot of questions). We ended up with a fantastic home in an incredible neighborhood. I would highly recommend working with Joe! read more

I worked with Alyse Martinez to list my condo. She walked me through every step of the process and was always available to answer all of my questions. Fantastic experience- Excellent service and professionalism- Joe and Kelsey handle it all. I highly recommend Mark Allen Realty.

No one knows the city of Chicago and the real estate industry better than Matt Liss and Mark Alan Realty. When I moved to Chicago I had no clue what area or neighborhood to live in. And the team at Mark Alan Realty took their time patiently to explain the pros and cons of all the different neighborhoods. I explain to them exactly what I wanted and what my wish list was for an area and a home and they delivered. Talk about expectations being overly exceeded. Thank you so much for Making this process seamless and painless and also enjoyable. I will definitely use them for my next home and I will be recommending them to any of my coworkers. read more

In 2016 we bought our townhome through Matt who knew a ton about the Chicago market and was super authentic and helpful for everything that came up throughout. As someone who worked in sales previously I look for people who can "keep it real" and Matt had the nuanced balance of directness, authenticity and knowledge of different angles for us to form our own opinions and decisions from there. He also has an established network of options for attorney, financing, inspector etc - we had great experiences with each of them.  As a bonus Matt's been really helpful making the choice to either rent or sell our place and getting up and going as a rental.  We bought a couple of properties out of state last year and especially realized how high he'd set the bar then read more

We had a great overall experience working with Matt Liss and Mark Allen Realty. We were introduced to Matt through a former client of Matt's, and after some independent research, we determined that Matt was the right agent to help us find a single family home in Chicago. Finding the right home for us took a lot of time, especially since our search needed to stop for a while due to COVID. Matt was patient and extremely educational throughout the search process. Matt is incredibly knowledgeable about the neighborhoods in Chicago and clearly explained why one location may be more desirable than another (even within the same general area). Matt helped us negotiate a few offers, and when one was finally accepted, we felt comfortable going through the process all the way to closing. In addition to buying a home, Matt helped us with our condo. He sent his photographer to our condo to take stunning pictures and helped us find tenants in a few short days (he even helped with the documentation portion of the process). Matt made the stressful process of buying a home in Chicago as smooth as possible. We would recommend Matt to anyone looking to seriously buy real estate in the city. His knowledge and level of client service are unmatched. read more

I can't say enough amazing things about Mark Allen Realty. These guys are THE REAL THING when it comes to the smartest and most badass realtors in town. We've used them to sell two properties (1 condo, 1 single family), and to purchase two new houses. We made money on both sales, and paid significantly under the listing price for both purchases. Matt Liss's recommendations for staging, inspections, lawyers are top notch, and we felt very supported and cared for throughout the whole process. Matt gets to know his clients, and is very honest about what he knows the clients need to have the best long-term home for them. USE THESE GUYS for sure! read more

We have bought and sold a lot of property but I can unequivocally say Matt is the best agent we have ever worked with. Granular local knowledge and very much our advocate throughout the process. The moment we met Howie, we knew we'd end up working with him (we interviewed several agents), and Howie did not disappoint! He started with our condo hunt immediately, really asking us questions to help identify what we wanted (and what we didn't want), set up showings quickly, and was in frequent contact with us throughout the process. He made sure that we understood, as new home buyers, the entirety of the process, and things to look for when viewing places as well. He helped us find exactly what we were looking for and was a strong advocate for us as buyers in this wild housing market. I cannot recommend Mark Allen Realty enough, especially Howie. read more

We worked with Matt Liss to sell our Lincoln Park condo. We were very worried about the market, given the horror stories of properties similar to ours staying on the market for a long period of time. Matt quickly got us thinking objectively about where we stood in the market, and he connected us to the right people to get our place properly staged. Matt was able to find us the right buyer for our place and, through a lot of his own hard work and creativity, was able to get both parties to an agreement pretty quickly after our property went on the market. I want to stress the fact that this deal really was his doing. Few brokers would have done half as much to prioritize our property and do the right things to get it sold. Things could have definitely turned out differently for us! We've already referred Matt to some friends and will continue to do so! He was so easy and fun to work with! read more

We recently worked with Cheryl at Mark Allen Realty to sell our condo in Chicago. I can't say anything but positive things about the experience. Cheryl made the process truly painless and ended up getting us more than we thought we might get for the property. Matt Liss is a great realtor and an all around good guy. We met with a couple of realtors who gave us shady contracts and ignored email and calls until I found Matt. He's responsive and to the point and helped us navigate a cash deal, which we'd never done before. Our house sold in 5 DAYS and we closed in 24!! His business practices are transparent and ethical and he's great to work with. On a side note, in the rush to pack and move out of state I missed a drawer which contained a family heirloom... a GIANT silver punch bowl and 10 cups which belonged to my grandmother. I was hysterical when I called Matt. "No problem!! I'll pack up this behemoth and send it to you." Srsly. That happened. read more
