They were not wrong. If you want an agent who goes above and beyond and gives their 200% Amanda is for you. My husband and I were looking for a new home but were unsure of what we really wanted and what was available in the city vs the suburbs. I have issues with the regulatory capture enjoyed by Realtors, but within that existing hegemonic structure where the process is largely prescriptive and you will be assigned a real estate agent if you don't find one on your own, it is SO important to have an agent who knows the business and knows how to navigate the process, and isn't just a warm body granting you access to MLS listings. Amanda is a total pro, I can't recommend her highly enough to help with your home sale or purchase. We had been working with Amanda on and off for a few years while we figured out what to do re: domiciling. We saw quite a few houses, got close to pulling the trigger at least once, but ultimately deferred our sale/purchase until 2020. The pandemic impacted our plans to a certain extent, but we opted to sell in mid-July. Amanda recognized our desire to move quickly to take advantage of market conditions and had the place listed within a few days (we had pictures taken a few months prior), and multiple offers after the first short session of showings. I was very pleased with how she organized everything to minimize disruption to us, and at the end of the day the most valuable contribution she made to our sale was navigating what could have been a disastrous appraisal that came in well below the offer amount, but turned out to be a non-factor thanks to how she handled it. I used Amanda to sell my condo in Chicago in February of 2021. We initially reached out to Amanda around October 2020 in the peak of Covid as we were looking to move out of the city to the West Coast. Amanda put together an initial assessment of our property, came out and did a walkthrough of the property, and has a market analysis done for our location. She then spent a little over an hour walking us through her analysis and what she thought our outcome could be if we sold end of 2020 on our own. Fast forward to early 2021 and an opportunity came up to move to the West Coast while also providing relocation benefits -- something we had never spoken with Amanda about and thought could be a wrinkle in our plan to list with her. She is diligent, hard-working, resourceful, responsive, and always on time. We bought a place in Chicago at the height of the bubble in late 2007 and needed to sell it a little over a year later, so it wasn't a matter of whether or not we would lose money, it was a question of how much.
