On top of that, I often found myself doing the legwork to coordinate inspections, after handing him clients directly. I wish someone would do that for my business, but I don't have that luxury. Today, I asked him to call my client directly to schedule. Instead, at 12:29 PM, he texted me a proposed time and waited for me to confirm it. I replied one minute later, just needing to double check with the buyer, since she works weekends. I also asked if he had any other time slots available, just in case. At 12:57 PM, he said, "Oh ok, Monday 1pm or 4:30pm?" I called my client immediately. She said Sunday is perfect. I texted him back at 1:01 PM: "She said Sunday is good." At 1:02 PM, he replied that he had already given that slot away. I told him how frustrating this pattern has become, how I'm the one bringing him business and expected to coordinate it like I'm his assistant, even after I send him their phone number and address. All he had to do was make the call I initially asked for. That alone was already disrespectful, but this is 95% of the time. Today, I got fed up with his entitled attitude. But here's the biggest issue, during the inspection at my personal property, Chris looked at my wife in a way that crossed the line. She was newly pregnant at the time, with my daughter. I never said anything before, but today, I did, after telling him respectfully that I'm not his secretary. I texted him exactly, "I know you're single, but next time when you see my wife, don't ever look at her like that again. Respect boundaries." Instead of clearing the air, denying it, or offering any sort of apology, Chris doubled down. He accused me of being "borderline abusive," claimed I was the problem, and said he would no longer work with me. Textbook... tried to gaslight me when I raise my concerns as a client. He completely ignored the concern I raised, and chose confrontation over accountability. I did not curse, threaten, or attack him. I asked for mutual respect after four years of being a loyal, reliable source of business. The way Chris chose to respond, by confronting me instead of addressing the issue, tells me everything I need to know. That kind of reaction speaks louder than any denial ever could. It confirmed what I had felt all along, and validated that my instincts were 100% spot on. My wife agrees. I've kept a full record of our text exchange and prior incidents. If needed, or if there's retaliation or misrepresentation, I'm more than willing to share the screenshots. Chris expects a handout, and doesn't respect the Realtors who hand him business on a silver platter, due to his personal biases and differences. Has zero accountability.

After I tried to communicate the issues, including water damage and mold, with the inspector, who allegedly communicated with one of the owners, all I received was a lengthy email explaining they did everything they could and I should eat up the cost fixing those issues myself. Baseboard with water damage in basement was behind the couch, but it's easy to found out with a peek over behind the couch during the inspection. When we ripped off the baseboard, there were about 25 ft drywall covered with mold. There were obvious yellow stain from water damage in the basement bedroom ceiling. It wasn't included in the report. Response was that it "did appear to be dry, and this most likely was a leaking issue from the kitchen island above, and should just be a matter of re-painting." It's your job to include those issues in the report. It's up to me whether I'm okay with them or want to negotiate some credit. It's a different story when those issues were simply not mentioned in the report. The water damage in the solid wood looked like the bottom of a pot that keeps plant. The baseboard next to that spot was also stained from water damage. Again, not included in the report and response was moving furniture was not allowed. Huh? There was no furniture covering the baseboard. There are random mold in the fridge and paint bubble in window sill. None was addressed in the report. So, what did I pay you almost $700 for?? I'm not paying for someone to tour around the house, but find issues that need to be fixed. If those were included, I may get some credit back. Not only did they deny their incompetence (of course, who will admit), but also not trying to fix their mistake by offering some of the credit. If you have money to waste on this company, go for it. I'd never bother or recommend them.

My realtor also told me of times where he and Stuart were walking through an inspection and agents would try to unduly influence the inspection, and Stuart would professionally but strongly ask them to give him and his client space so he could remain partial. He provided so much information and education on what to fix and gave rough estimates on how much things would/should costs to repair. I wish I could take him with me every time I view a home. The inspection definitely opened my eyes on what to look for when viewing a property and shopping around. He was on the roof looking for any signs of leaking, crawling around in the crawl spaces looking for cracks and any signs of leaking or damage. Testing all outlets and lights and appliances. He took a close look at everything and let us know what works and what does not work and let us know what could go out at any time. When looking at the AC and Heat he tested both and the AC is working but he let us know the unit is old and could go at any time. He did the same for the furnace. The Furnace looked fine to me but he let us know it was very old and did not work. Great information to have before Jack Frost comes to town. I will definitely contact Nick again to check out our property after repairs are done and with any future home we purchase. As far as professionalism. I arrived early because I don't like to keep people waiting and when I arrived Nick was already there and already starting on the outside which was immediately a plus for me especially since I set up the inspection only earlier in the week. He provided information on what he found going on outside the property and the type of maintenance I will have to do as time goes on and what I would be able to do myself and what I should call a professional about. He made what he does look easy but with the amount of information he provided, it is obvious there is so much to know and I can only imagine how much more there could only be if the property Is in bad shape. We contacted two other home inspectors and Nick gave us the best quote. My realtor worked with him also before and said he does great work and really knows his stuff so that plus the best price overall I feel I made a great choice with choosing MVP Home Inspections. If all does not go well with the repairs I want done with the property I am trying to purchase I will for sure contact him for future inspections and refer him to anyone I know looking to purchase a home and needs an inspection. Everything that is working and old with possible future problems I was notified about. Problems that are not there but will/may happen in the future, I was notified about. Everything down to water pressure or the hot/cold being installed opposite I was notified about. Every outlet tested etc. Also provided that same night was the inspection report. Keep in mind, my inspection was done at 3pm, on a Sunday and it lasts a couple hours and I still received my report the same day. Not sure how Yelp works but if you can check my profile, I don't leave many reviews. I have to receive some GREAT service to take time a write a review.
